Why they chose this property
Precious Barn is amazing, and my wife and I always joke that 'if we didn't have 3 kids', it would be top of our holiday property wishlist. The Barn was recently lovingly converted from a 400 year old barn, so it has a unique combination of modern convenience and historical, rustic flavour. It really is the perfect cosy getaway, and is a firm favourite with guests for putting their feet up after a long walk or hike in the Lakeland fells.
We're so happy to be able to provide a base for couples who are exploring this amazing part of Lakeland, and love the idea that guests leave the place feeling refreshed and invigorated by a short stay in the countryside.

What makes this property unique
Our attention was initially drawn to the village of Skelton by the Dog & Gun Inn, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. It's just a two minute walk from Precious Barn, which makes a visit to sample their incredible fare (and wine list) easy. Precious is also on the edge of the village, which means it benefits from high levels of privacy and peace and quiet.
With 400 year old stonework and a tastefully modern interior, Precious Barn really is the perfect combo. There's also a lovely south-facing patio terrace in front of the Barn for those warm spring and summer evenings. The views from the bedroom window typify this part of Cumbria, with rolling green fields pretty much as far as the eye can see, and a hint of the dramatic scenery of the Lakeland fells.
