Lake Access! Bring your boat or bring your snowmobile! 4-season 4-bedroom 2-full bath private home. Enjoy cooking and eating in the fully modern appliance open concept kitchen/dining area. Linger with family over your morning coffee soaking up the sunshine from a wall of large south facing windows. Family can spread out into the 2 fully furnished living/entertainment areas. Country setting and yet close to restaurants, miniature golf, bowling, dine in movie theater. Locally made ice can be purchased at more than 3 close by ice cream shops. Two of these great ice cream locations offer miniature golf!
Just a 2-minute stroll on the gravel path from the back yard, you will arrive at your private waterfront & private dock. For those of you planning on bringing your own boat, you will be pleased to know that this property is close to the public boat launch for Mousam Lake and that The Grey House dock can accommodate a boat up to 20 feet long.
A 16ft Pontoon boat is available for rent with this property. This pontoon boat may be rented by the day or by the half day. Speak with owner or host for details.

Some of you may decide to take a day trip to historic Portland Maine or Portsmouth New Hampshire. Make a shopping day trip to beautiful North Conway New Hampshire and visit the outlet malls or check out famous Old Orchard Beach. Plan an ocean beach day and enjoy the sandy beaches of Kennebunk and Wells, less than an hour away.
In the back yard, of this newly renovated rental, you and your family can enjoy a brand-new covered patio and Solo "fire pit", conveniently located outside the kitchen door. Prepare your homemade breakfasts, lunches or Suppers, on the well-maintained Black Stone griddle, while enjoying a game of Corn Hole or one of the other outside family games provided.

The owner of this property has provided one "Old Town" canoe and adult size life vests for visiting guests 15 years old and up, For the added enjoyment of age-appropriate guests staying at this lake side home, the owner allows free use of 2 paddle boards and 2 kayaks. For the additional safety of our guests, the owner has purchased several children and adult sized life jackets. It is strongly recommended that life jackets be worn for all water sports activities.

Many of our guests enjoy the local walking trails in close proximity to this rental, that allow for some fresh air and exercise without a strenuous hike.

An added amenity for the summer of 2025, is a 4-person sunset boat ride of the picturesque Mousam Lake, ( if more than 4 guests are interested in taking advantage of this offer, 2 nights can be chosen), on an evening of the guest's choice, weather permitting.

Great location with access to Mousam lake. No lake view but a wonderful dock and great property with covered patio, fire pit and all the amenities. Really well done interior with comfortable accommodations. Had a great time and definitely recommend!

Our family stayed in this house because we had a wedding locally it was absolutely beautiful and clean. Plenty of space for everybody comfortably. Our hosts ( John, Linda and Clutch) couldn’t have been kinder! House was great, well appointed. Lakeside with the fall leaves couldn’t have been prettier. Wish we had had the time to use the fire pit, did get to cook out on the blackstone grill. This place was a true gem!

Our stay was great! There was kids from 9months-13 years old and four adults. Close to a beach within minutes. Grocery store 5 minutes away! Ocean is less than an hour. Loved the club house! Great place to fish for the kids! John and clutch were great greeters! Felt right at home! Would definitely book here again!

Family vacation!

We loved our stay at the Gray House! The kiddos loved the lake and dock, throwing rocks in the water was sooo cool! :) they range from 2-5. John was very helpful, and our kids loved chatting with him and his dog! The “play house” outside was a popular hang out for the kids. We absolutely loved the blackstone grill and used it every night! The house was amazingly stocked and very comfy! We would absolutely stay again!

John and Linda's property is perfect for family gatherings with easy access to the lake and local beaches. John and Linda were attentive to every detail and very accommodating to ensure we had everything we needed- including a crockpot, blender and mixer! Marvellous house, beautiful lake

Spacious, clean, bright, cozy. Wonderful hosts, Linda, John, and Clutch the mostly labrador social director. Every member of the family ... sixteen of us, were able to meet there one night for a big reunion. Only eight of us slept in the house but the other eight joined us downstairs for grilling outside, supper in the kitchen, games on the TV, and lots and lots of talking and walking to the lake. The house is wonderful, the sunsets at the lake beautiful.

Great spot at serene Mousam Lake!

We had a great week at Mousam Lake. The house was super clean and decorated just perfectly. Our host Linda was so warm and welcoming answering all our questions, providing us with local recommendations and checking in to be sure we were set. There is a short walk to the dock/lake. It was manageable for our group that included kids and teens. We would recommend renting a boat if able as swimming at the sand bars is the best part on the lake. The house had plenty of room for the 8 of us. We enjoyed the fire pit and patio and kids enjoyed the small club house out back as well. Would definitely book here again.

I felt at home

Upon our very first arrival, I felt at home. My wife and I stayed month to go see our son's soccer games at UNE in Biddeford. The house is amazing appointed and was very comfortable. We had guests every weekend and we enjoys everything that Maine has to offer. We took walks down by the lake, we toured our favorite seaside towns, we went to the Fryeburg Fair and even took a long drive up to Rangeley to do some Leaf Peeping! Our hosts John, Linda and Clutch are warm and friendly and are amazing people to get to know. There is so much love and charm in the home and is a wonderful place to visit. I am back only a day and I miss my new friends, my small town way of living and best dog in town. Thanks John for everything. Your warmth and hospitality is appreciated. We'll be seeing you again!

This circa 1925 home has been in the same family until this present day. It has witnessed happy days and tragic days as it sheltered 3 generations of children. This home has just experienced its 4th renovation. The property's host and her brother the owner are third-generation children. They have loving endeavored to modernize this home, yet still be focused on keeping its original personal integrity. Throughout the home you may notice little hints of the nostalgic past.

Why they chose this property

Although we are not done with all the changes, we are in the process of making to this property, the home is now very comfortable, and we invite you to bring your family for a relaxing visit to the cool environment of Mousam Lake. We hope to add and deck, redo the outside painting of the house, and set up a place for outside activities such as a patio with firepit and a summer reading room with beverage cooler. We will be working on these projects in between the visits of our guests.

What makes this property unique

Each room has been set up with attention to detail. You can bring a large group of family or friends and still have privacy. We decided not to fill bedrooms with cots and bunk beds because we felt privacy and space was important for a truly relaxing respite. This is especially true in the case of inclement weather. Unfortunately, not every day in Maine is warm and sunny or producing fluffy snow. Our guests need to be able to go their separate ways with a good book or to watch a movie without the noise of a large crowd. This property is in close proximity to the main roads for when one desires to pick up "take out", decides to visit a nearby eatery, or catch a movie in the nearby town of Sanford.
