House, 4 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9)
South of the highway and just a short walk to the shops and village of Bridgehampton, this historic home was completely renovated in 2010, with modern amenities throughout.
The view from the street captures the 1840’s façade, while the back of the house was extended and modernized to allow for ample living spaces and an open floor plan. Antique floors, glass-blown windows, and antique doors were all preserved, giving the house the feeling of a bygone era. The new portion was done in ways that complement it, sometimes more modern, other times more in keeping with the period.
A new kitchen features a Gaggenau oven and cooktop, stainless steel appliances, and a new white enamel two-bin sink. Counters are polished concrete, with wood cabinetry. There is a banquette and chairs for eating in the kitchen. A dining table for up to 10 people is also steps away.
Along with the kitchen on the first floor, there is living/dining room, screened-in porch, powder room, steam-washer/dryer, and a guest bedroom with queen bed and private bath. Upstairs, a new master suite has a bedroom with seating, two walk-in closets, an office, a private deck, and a master bath. The master bath has a shower, modern freestanding tub, two sinks, and a toilet. There are also two upstairs bedrooms for guests, one with a queen, and another a twin, which share a bath. Along with the plasma TVs in the living room and master, there is an 82” television in the Media Room in the basement.
A new solar-heated 28’x10’ saltwater pool has an elegant waterfall, which kids also love to play in, and the sound makes for a pleasant afternoon reading on the screened-in porch. There is also a private studio with full bath (5BR, 4.5 bath in all) for guests with small children, a nanny, or an independent teenager, who can have a separate building and entrance to the property but remain just 75 feet away from the main house.
For access to all Bridgehampton beaches requiring a permit, a 1977 Ford Bronco (fully automatic, a classic) can be rented by separate agreement.
No groups, please.

About Owner/Property Manager
We are a Manhattan couple who have had a vacation home in the Bridgehampton and Sagaponack since childhood.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this House in 1997
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Bridgehampton
The Hamptons are a one-of-a-kind place for New Yorkers, a setting with gorgeous, uncrowded beaches, historic villages, a farmland setting, and a rich list of amenities like restaurants, theatres, spas, gourmet and upscale shopping.
What makes this House unique
Being close to the village allows our family and guests to grab coffee in the morning, browse shops or run short errands, and go to restaurants without having to drive there. Being South of the highway provides easy access to the best beaches, without having to get on Rte 27, which can be slowed by traffic.

Perfect and stunning home away from home
We are a family of four (two children: 1 and 5) and we feel so lucky to have found this amazing house! Our parents also came to visit us, and even with six people we didn't fill all the bedrooms.
The pictures don't even show the real beauty and great taste in design and equipment. It is a true jewel and so conveniently located on a very quiet street right around the corner of the shops, restaurants, Starbucks and library. We spent the days going to the close by beach, splashing in the pool, using the great bikes for tours, visiting the children's museum, checking out the vineyards, visiting Pumpkintown... You get the picture: there is a lot to do there! The owner was remarkable in answering all our questions right away and always had some advice or idea for activities in the area ( thank you so much, David!). The detail of having the possibility of renting the Bronco with the beach permit is outstandingly convenient in the high season!
What can we say: we spent a perfect 3 week vacation in this beautiful house and we will definitely be back! This is now our home away from home!
Hamptons Retreat Exceeded Expectations
We just returned from our stay in Bridgehampton. This house was the perfect rental for us because we were vacationing with our 5 month old and his grandparents. We made so many outstanding family memories. The owner of the property made staying here such a relaxing treat! Everything you need to make meals, swim in the tranquil pool, and hit the beach is provided. I went for a nice bike ride every morning with the bikes provided-it was a great way to explore the area. The grounds and interior are immaculate (very important to us because of our baby). We felt right at home! We walked into town for coffee, dinner, and shopping. The antique design of the house shines with all the modern amenities. Beds were comfy and the layout of the house works well. Clearly the owner takes pride in the property. He even gave us tips on traveling to and from the house. I would not hesitate to rent this home again and recommend it to friends and family.
Perfect summer stay!
We just came back home yesterday and we are still talking about the stay at this house. It was such a beautiful, clean house, and everything was so perfect for us. The house looked just as the pictures depicted on the website.
We enjoyed sitting and chatting in the living room and the covered outside patio area. The kitchen was well-equipped and very organized. The master suite and other bedrooms were very nicely decorated and it almost felt like we were staying at our own house. There is a great media room in a basement and we enjoyed watching movies at night. Every evening we walked to the main street of Bridgehampton for dinner or coffee- the location was so convenient, we could easily walk everywhere. The owner was so helpful as well, giving us 5-page explanations of the house so that we didn't have to waste our time to figure things out.
This house is just so perfect - anyone who would stay here is guaranteed to have a wonderful stay!
Beautifully maintained home - perfect location
Our family (6 adults and one child) just spent a wonderful week in this beautifully restored home in Bridgehampton. It was just as described and more. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in (we did every night as we love to cook) and very well equipped even with very sharp knives! The pool was stunning with the waterfalls. We spent many hours there. The property was clean with everything provided. The owner was most helpful returning our call quickly. We didn't have a problem just a question. The studio apartment was terrific as an extra room. The master suite was expansive and lovely. The best part of the house were the beautiful antique tables for eating. We spent many hours around each one enjoying each other's company. It was a real family vacation.
Location was good as there were many produce stands nearby and also two complete grocery stores within a mile. Lovely downtown close by for coffee and ice cream. For golfers the Montauk Downs Public Course is terrific. Lots of hiking trails on the way to Montauk.
We would definitely recommend this rental to friends and if we go back to the area this will be the place we will rent.
Great Bridgehampton Rental!
This VRBO experience exceeded our expectations.
The house and furnishings are beautiful, from the wonderful open plan kitchen/family room, to the amazing master suite, to the great downstairs media/ping pong room...everyone in my family was happy. The pool is lovely and the waterfall fountains provided fun for the kids and relaxing background noise for us. We had everything we needed for a great vacation at the house.
The main street in Bridgehampton is a very short (maybe 1/2 block) walk from the house, which we loved. There are some great restaurants on the main street and we really enjoyed not having to drive. One of the Bridgehampton beaches is about 2 miles away and is beautiful. We rented the Bronco with beach permits, which was great fun.
The owners are incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Happy in the Hamptons
This rental was more than we could have wished for -- it provided all of the comforts of home and more. The house and property are clean, well-maintained and very nicely decorated. The owners welcome you as their guests and they make you feel as if you are at the home of a close friend. Every comfort is provided for and the location, for us, was ideal for walking into town and for getting to the beach. We would certainly like to spend more time there.
