We invite you to enjoy our kickback villa in beautiful Treasure Cay on the island of Abaco in the Bahamas. The Villa is newly updated and decorated with fun tropical colors. Treasure Cay is the place for a laid back family vacation. The 3 1/2 mile beach is one of the 10 most beautiful in the world; its powdery white sand and the vibrant Topaz waters of the Caribbean are only steps away from your door as is the sparkling swimming pool. Spectacular snorkeling, diving, fishing, a championship 18 hole golf course and tennis courts can fill your days. If you are looking for fine dining and lots of shopping, this is not the place for you. They don't exist. The Coco Bar on the Beach serves sandwiches, hamburgers, great grouper fingers and don't miss the conch in its various forms. The Spinnaker has lunch and dinner, daily, and a very nice Sunday brunch. Pizza night jumps with live music at the Tipsy Seagull, and is always fun. Treasure Cay is about cocktail parties at home, at the pool or on the observation deck while the kids play hide and seek around the maze of sidewalks. Our kitchen is fully equipped for preparing a gourmet meal or the simplest sandwich. Read, play games, bike, walk the beach, find a scrabble or mah jongg group, get to know each other, again. This is Treasure Cay.

My name is Cathy Laughlin. I live in Wausau, Wisconsin and have for about 40 years. I absolutely love going to Treasure Cay and often spend January and February in the Villa if the rental schedule allows. I have done all I can to make it a fun happy villa for guests and for myself. Thanks for your interest.
John Laughlin purchased this villa in 1995
My husband and I honeymooned in Treasure Cay. Our children have enjoyed TC vacations all their lives, and now their children are enjoying vacations in Treasure Cay. In our opinion, there is no better place for a tropical family vacation.
Our villa is on the front sidewalk in the Beach Villa area, Everything you need is in walking distance and you are just steps from the beach and pool. Nice linens, high thread count cotton sheets and great decor help you feel at home.
The kick back villa was just right for what we were looking for. A very easy going community, fantastic beach and completely laid back. Do not expect dining adventures and know that food costs are high but the grocery and liquor store are an easy walk down the road as well as a few beach bars, marina restaurants and condo style options for eating out. We rented a boat one day and had a great time exploring the outer cays, rented bikes ( only mode of transportation needed ) to get around, took the ferry over to Green Turtle Cay and otherwise walked the beach, read and slept! A really great pace to rest up and escape the New England winter. One dissapointment is that the screen doors to the patio doors are screwed shut so the only access to get out of the villa is through a somewhat akward front door. There is a lovely little patio off the master bedroom but without the ability to just walk out to it. Same with the living room. Though there were plenty of beach and bath towels for all, the villa was lacking in any paper towels, back up TP, no garbage bags….These are some of the basic supplys that you expect to be there. No big deal to go buy except for the high cost and inconvenience. The villa is surrounded closely by other villas so don't expect privacy once you are outside BUT, eveyone who wandered by was extremely nice and welcoming and it is a super short walk to the pool and beach. Treasure Cay is a gem for the right visitor!
Just walking up to the Villa was a treat. Charming checkered patio with lilac adirondack chairs, each with brightly colored pillows, blooming Jasmine trellised vines and an incredible yellow hibiscus welcomed us. Inside there were flowers on the tables and rooms brightly painted ( very Bahamian ) a bookshelf with games and much to read. The kitchen was stocked better than mine at home. The towels and linens were top notch. We loved the corned beef hash and grits breakfast at Florence's Bakery, Pizza night with live music and dancing and the Coco Bar's grouper fingers were outstanding. We were just a few steps to the beach , truly beautiful, and the pool, neither of which was ever crowded and we loved having cocktails and watching the sunset on the " overlook" next to the pool. Anything we wanted or needed was within walking distance. Movie night under the stars at the pool was a real treat. We did not care that the internet was spotty. Treasure Cay's very casual atmosphere was just what we wanted. We will return to this Villa!
Just returned from a week in Treasure Cay with our family of 5, we had a great time! Villa was Nicole equipped and very close to beach and pool. Would definitely go again some time!
The Villa was PERFECT! We loved everything about it. It suited our family of four to a tea! We loved all of the homey touches in this condo. The kitchen had everything you could ever need and was stocked to the hilt. I loved how the kitchen and living area separated the master bedroom from the kids bedroom, and the villa was decorated perfectly for a vacation at the beach, with bright, festive colors, etc! The location was superb! The villa was just steps from the pool and beach as well as the laundry facility. I would highly recommend this rental to a family of four! Thanks again for making our stay in Treasure Cay so delightful!
This is a great place to stay- very convenient, walking distance to everything, especially the most beautiful beach!!!! The villa was very comfortable and accommodating. Cathy, the owner is a pleasure to deal with. Restaurants are limited & the food at the restaurants is even more limited. Was kind of hoping for a variety of fresh seafood choices, but conch & grouper are it! I would definitely recommend this property. If laid back is what you like, this is definitely the place to be. Can't wait to return.
We just returned from a delightful stay at this villa and were quite pleased with the accommodations. I have stayed in many VRBO properties and this kitchen in one of the most well equipped yet! It is central to grocery shopping and restaurants so you don't really even need to rent a golf cart (transportation of choice) during your stay here. The unit is a very short walk to the pool, complex office and the beach which is absolutely stunning! There were fresh cut flowers awaiting us when we arrived - a nice touch.
During out stay we mostly cooked our daily catch but one day we went for lunch at the nearby Coco Beach Bar and one evening we went to the fairly new Treasure Sands for dinner; it was expensive but well worth the experience as the food and service were both exquisite. The Sausage Pappardelle was a favorite of the table.
The owner of the villa, Cathryn, was very responsive to inquiries about the non-working Internet during our stay but to no avail. The reliability of the utilities infrastructure in the Bahamas is not what Americans are used to. The only way to get Internet access during my stay was to go the the complex office and this was very inconvenient for a telecommuter who unfortunately has to check in to work while on vacation. On another evening the electricity on the island was out for several hours. You just have to get used to island time and island pace, which is a good thing.
All-in-all Treasure Cay is a wonderful destination and Kickback Villa is comfortable and homelike.
