Thank you so much for the kind words! We're so glad the cabin felt like the right fit and that you had a wonderful stay. That view never gets old, we totally understand why people keep coming back!
Hope to welcome you back to the Hideaway Spot again soon! – Gia
I am a frequent traveler and very much enjoyed this home. It is about 15 mins from Mikes North Crab House and is a good location from which to explore Annapolis and Baltimore.
We loved our stay in this really cute spot right on the water. Well appointed, comfortable, and clean. We loved going out to enjoy the views - wish we’d have had more time there and hope to go back.
We were in town for a family wedding and needed a peaceful "home base" to relax and get ready. "The Hideaway Spot" was absolutely perfect! It is an upscale nautical cabin-like interior with plenty of room for 2 couples. The outside deck was great for coffee and chilling together. Peaceful getaway from hustle and bustle of the city. Plenty of fabulous seafood in Glen Burnie nearby. Communication with host was easy with prompt responses and attention to any requests/questions we had. The family wedding was at Kurtz's Beach...an easy drive. Highly recommend staying here! couplesfor 2 couples
I am hesitant to offer any stars for this experience. Our stay took place from June 17th to June 22nd, 2025. I have considered whether to leave a review at all. The most enjoyable aspects were the deck and the neighbors. I have taken photographs, though I am unsure if I will be able to send them all. There is a picture of the front door taken at 8 AM, which clearly shows a hand swipe from the outside. Additionally, there is a picture of one of the bathrooms. I recall reading a review mentioning cameras both inside and outside the property. While I am comfortable with cameras outside, there is a small black hole in the tile that concerns me. As previously mentioned, the property was quite dirty, lacking a dishwasher, and the pans and stove were excessively greasy. I will endeavor to send all of my pictures and some of my short videos. To conclude on a positive note, the view was the highlight of our stay.
There were ring cameras and other surveillance cameras all over the property. Per Vrbo policy these cameras should only be used for security purposes and you should also be notified of said cameras. The owners were frequently watching these cameras because We got multiple text messages throughout the weekend about things we were doing and saying. They also had an Alexa inside the house which we unplugged with concerns of our privacy. We were felt uneasy with complete strangers watching our every move.
The one afternoon we had my sons lacrosse team over for a bbq and the owner actually texted me saying the house was only allowed 4 people! These friends did not stay the night, there is no where in the rules that said we could not have company.
The neighbors were very friendly and had no complaints about our activities over the weekend. We were inside every night by 8pm. The house was lovely but unfortunately because of the cameras and privacy issues I do not recommend this property.

The HideAway is a small cottage located at the end of a gravel road traveled only by those that live on the street. It is for our neighborhood's privacy and respect that our rules are for 4 guests and not to be an event home or space where additional guests are invited. Our street has about 10 houses that watch out for one another. You must drive by each one to get to our home. Accommodations are for 4 guests. House rules are clearly outlined and offered to be provided prior to booking. Immediately after booking all house rules are sent over in a message so nothing is overlooked.
-Additional guest/visitors beyond what was approved when booking: at minimum $35 per guest, per day, plus immediate removal
-Unauthorized pet fee: $300
Laura violated both of the rules above by having more then 10 people at the house, several cars, and a dog. When Laura booked she stated it would her husband, and 2 boys. There was no mention of hosting a gathering, bringing pets etc. Cameras were not monitored, neighbors along the street that know we short-term rent our home were our eyes. No fines were issued to Laura. We are lucky to be able to short-term rent our home so we appreciate future guests keeping to the 4 guests maximum and no pet rules. Thank you in advance!
We love this house. When you walk in you feel a "Wow" moment. The interior is beautiful, updated, and very stylish! It's perfect for four people, everything is clean and comfortable, the beds are very nice and very comfortable. The house is well stocked with a hair dryer, soap, towels, wash cloths, dishes, spices, plastic bags, and other kitchen items. It's great being on the river and there's plenty of seating, both on the deck which has a table and chairs, and adirondack chairs on the lower grassy area near the water. We would definitely like to stay here again.
