Note 1: The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) drains the lake down in the fall and winter (Sept to early April) such that sections of the lake that are in coves are so drained down that most coves on the lake are dry (no water) late November to January. The water levels will vary depending on TVA's decisions to set water levels to prevent flooding. TVA fills the lake back up in early April. It is usually completely filled back up by the end of April. In fall and winter, it is a great peaceful cabin experience on a large lot with good views, a hot tub, fire pit on large patios, an outdoor kitchen, a pool table, arcade games, foosball, lots of safe room for kids to play outside, and close to all the local activities. Note 1a: As of 5/13/2026 the lake water level is about 20 ft lower than normal due to drought (no Rain in April). Water is at the dock, but the dock is not floating, so can't use the boat and jet ski yet. Some more rain should raise it quickly but not sure by when.
Note 2: The guest who books the cabin is required to sign a renter's agreement (e.g., says the guest will not sue us and will follow house rules) through an external link, which will get sent to you automatically after booking. The guest who books the cabin is required to pre-approve a $500 damage protection deposit that is 100% fully refunded 7 days after check-out if no damages are incurred and if the guest keeps house rules to not disturb the neighbors. The security deposit is not charged to your card until after your stay, and it is only charged if there is damage or if a house rule was broken.
Note 3: There is a 2nd small cabin on this property that is also available for rent to supplement this cabin with 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, etc that can be used to extend # guests staying at this location (increase by 6). Do a search on "Small Cabin over Garage" to find the link to add it or do a search on "Peaceful Cabin on Lake with 2nd small cabin" to book them both at the same time. (ask the owner for available discounts on small cabin over garage if both properties are rented at the same time)
Note 4: Parrots Chapel Road, which you take to get to the cabin, follows the lake contour and so has a good number of turns. The ride is worth the wait, but the short 6 mile road to the lake takes ~15 min to drive due to the turns.

Fantastic property with great amenities. Outdoor kitchen, deck & firepit area really made a huge difference. We unfortunately had to deal with low water levels due to the drought, but made the best of it in this great home. Highly recommend and will be returning again!
the outdoor area was wonderful. Enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and outdoor fire place. The boat dock and boat were great. Unfortunately the lake was a little low.
We were only there two nights, nice place to stay. Only thing i would advise is that, this is secluded so make sure you pick up supplies before you arrive to cabin or while you are out. There are a couple gas stations with convenience items about 15-20 minute drive. Other than that we made some good memories.
This truly is a peaceful cabin. Such a great location and soooo beautiful. Every morning the lake is like glass, the sun glitters in the dew covered grass and it feels like heaven. Every time we turned around I was saying, "Wow!" The hosts were very warm and welcoming. They had everything ready for us, and handled special requests rapidly and well. And the house is so comfortable. Lots of sleeping spaces, play spaces and dining options. We were so comfortable here we hardly left. Just come and relax.

Why they chose this property
In the Summer we love the clear, warm water of Douglas Lake and being right on the lake on 2 sides with a beautiful view and 3 huge patios to view it. In the winter we love being out secluded in a top quality cabin in the woods with the fire pit, hot tub, and close access to all the activities on Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.
What makes this property unique
We are the only Log Cabin on Douglas Lake with 3 large patios (over 2K sq ft) right on the water.
