About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 14)

This house is wonderful in all the seasons. It is a fall Steelhead fishing and deer hunting paradise as well as a summer fly fishing heaven as it sits perched on one of the best fishing holes on the Methow and surrounded by 5 acres of pasture, woods and riverfront. In the winter there is a wild sledding hill. In the summer, sunbath by the pool while viewing the mountains or jump in the river and float down on inner tubes to the town swimming hole. Hop in the hot tub after a day of skiing, hunting, fishing, biking and take in the spectacular view of the valley floor with the cascades in the backdrop and the Methow river 30 yards to the west.

This property faces west so it gets daylight and sunsets later than anywhere in the valley. The House shares 5 acres with another rental property of mine called Aliwood. VRBO #503768 . The combination of the two makes this a perfect compound for a family retreat or wedding. The house interior is rich with knotty pine walls, a huge stone hearth and views galore. all bedrooms have lodge pole furniture cozy duvets, and Ralph Lauren sheets. All the rooms afford views with the master having two porches from which to sip your morning coffee. The bunk room has six bunks, (but will have four after the remodel), all with colorful Pendelton blankets. This room has a door to a deck facing the river. The kitchen is new with modern amenities, a sub zero and a six burner cooks cooktop. There are indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The house is only 1.5 miles from Twisp, 7 miles from Winthrop , 25 mins from Mazama and Sun Mountain Lodge for groomed trails or 25 mins to Loop Loop for downhill. On the same property is my house, Aliwood, also with a pool and hot tub. .VRBO#503768. For large groups it makes for a nice compound. Yet separately they both have privacy. There is a massive lawn in between the two with a huge play structure for the kids.

Great space for families

  • 5 of 5

We stay in the Methow every year with a few families and it's hard to find spaces that work well. The Fishing Lodge has plenty of space, bunk beds for kids, a large kitchen, a great view, and probably the best hot tub in the valley.

Wonderful Cozy Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

My hockey team played in an outdoor tournament in Winthrop last weekend and wanted to stay all together for the weekend. The house was perfect for our group and provided a wonderfully cozy setting where we could all relax and make meals together. The hot tub is fantastic and the views are too. I would love to return next year - and in the summer!

I want to go back.

  • 5 of 5

This was my second Winter trip to the Fishing Lodge. The first time was with three generations of family- seven adults, four kids ages 5 - 12. The space accommodates a big group especially well. The kitchen is spacious and open to the rest of the living room, the furniture is extremely comfortable, there is a large dining table that seated all of us and as it has been mentioned before, the house has the best hot tub in the Methow. The cozy bunkbeds, with their individual little windows made the kids feel like they had hit the kid jackpot.

Yeah, I love this house. It's perched above the river and when the sun is out you can look all the way up the gorgeous winter playground that is the Methow Valley.

This recent trip was with six adults. It was their first time to the Methow and first time cross country skiing for some of them. The house is about a 15 minute drive from the Winthrop end of the groomed ski trails which is great. And since we were doing a lot of cooking, the grocery store right in Twisp was really convenient. My one request is to bring back the sledding hill next to the house. A large shrub seems to have taken over the hill and cut off the run. Stay here if you have the chance. It's fantastic.

Absolutely great for our group of 3 families - lots of bedrooms, open floor plan downstairs!

  • 4 of 5

Our group had a great overall experience at the Fishing Lodge. Beautiful location, convenient to Twisp and to further up valley, and lots of space for adults and kids. We loved the wood stove and fireplace, as well as the open kitchen and all the sleeping space upstairs. Kids loved bunkroom! There problems with the hot tub such that we could not use it until halfway through our visit, which was a disappointment, but owner and local handyman were very diligent about fixing it for us as quickly as they could. Definitely recommend this property for a group coming to the Methow and looking for a comfortable and rustic place with space for all and lots of character.

The perfect place to relax from city life in the Methow Valley.

  • 5 of 5

Our three families enjoyed the beauty, peace and swimming pool at this beautiful country home. The house has 4 bedrooms and a huge bunk room. Our three families fit comfortable in the house. It is well stocked. The kitchen was easy to cook in and socialize at the same time.

The pool of course was the favorite feature of the kids but sitting by the pool and enjoying the river and mountain view was what relaxed the adults. The weather was hot so we got up early and enjoyed the mountains and biking. Then we lounged pool side for the later part of the day. Twisp bakery is close by and we took the kids to the lake one day and horseback riding the next.

We are already planning a return trip.

Amazing place on the river

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Aly for a terrific 4th of July week at your place. It was the perfect setting for our family reunion. The kids had a blast swimming in the pool while warming up in the hot tub. And all the space to run around. And in such a great location (close to Twisp and Winthop, fishing, golf, biking, hiking, etc, etc. We'll be back soon!
