Situated just steps away from the water's edge, it offers unparalleled access to some of the best fly fishing in the areas. Inside, the living area is filled with natural light and stunning views of the river. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for whipping up delicious meals after a day on the water, and the cozy living room is ideal for curling up with a good book or streaming a movie with the high speed internet. The house features three bedrooms and two baths. It also has an additional room with pull out sofa for additional guests. Outside, the River House truly shines with the deck that makes you feel like you're touching the water and the outdoor sitting area with fire-pit and chairs. I am an old person and I use a walker. All the doors are sub standard narrow and I had to turn sideways to get through them. This caused me to fall. After two days I chose to return home rather than stay the thirty days I paid for. The host was very nice. And the scenery was beautiful. But the property is old and although an attempt was made to update it, elderly renters should be warned about the narrow doors.

This was a perfect weekend getaway space for our family. We enjoyed fishing in the river, visiting downtown, and the quaint area. Amenities were perfect, house was clean and updated. Amazing views as well!

The property was very clean and as advertised. We enjoyed fishung in the river and the stay was perfect. We only wish we could have stayed longer. The entire process from booking to checkout was five star.

The rental was clean and had everything we needed to cook the bit we cooked. Please note, that the coffee table in the room leading to the deck has damage to the corners, the second queen bed has strangely pink sheet stain on one side of the sheets. The view is great, but access to the river is a little steep. It would be hard to access for people of all ages. The twin beds are hard to sleep on unless you are under 10 :) The other beds were great, as far as I was concerned. Back to the view, I wish I could have taken the sight and sounds of the river home. We saw ducks, and I fed them bread off the dock. The Blue Ridge Train came by, kayakers and rafters went past, otters seen swimming in the river, deer were everywhere, and the mist rising off the river was breathtaking. We even caught a little trout and a creek chub off the deck, which was too fun. Access to the cabin is tough. The road leading to the cabin is supposed to be gravel, and there is some gravel there, but there are giant holes filled with water due to rain but will be giant holes rain or shine. There is one place where a car left part of its under carriage. Big truck, SUV, any vehicle with a high ground clearance is recommended. I was pleased with the rental. I wish I could have taken the view home with me. Sitting on the deck early in the morning just can't be beat. Had a wonderful time. I recommend Horseshoe Bend Park, Twisted Tomato for pizza, Yellowphant for breakfast (superb).

Cozy cabin on the river

This cabin was perfect in every way! Beautiful river view and the walk out porch is fantastic! The cabin is well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. Privacy is great and would be perfect for those who are looking for relaxation!

Great Stay

Awesome Place, Awesome Owner. Very Awkward story..I had both her number and a local pizza place copied on my phone's clipboard and accidentally called the owner to order Pizza haha! She was a great sport about it and even recommended a restaurant. Thanks so much, the place was great!

Rhonda is a Great Host

So glad we picked this cabin! Everything inside was new and clean. The beds and pillows were comfy and the whole cabin felt cozy. The best part is that it was on the river. We loved relaxing on the deck and how convenient it was to go for a swim. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great get away!

Wonderful home. Homeowner was easy to work with and highly responsive. The only issue we had is the pull out couch in the front room was not going to work as a bed for us, so we had to reshuffle sleeping arrangements. I would take that into consideration when booking this if you need more than 4 beds. Otherwise, absolutely love this house and hope to return.

Beautiful, peaceful location

We all had a great time staying here. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The location was great, very quiet yet close enough to town to run to the store when needed. I do have some cons. Nothing that would stop me from staying there again but definitely need to know so you can be better prepared. When we arrived we immediately had to leave and run to the store. The cabin barely had any toilet paper in either bathroom (1 used roll in each bathroom that was pretty much empty), no sponge to clean dishes with, 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen that was pretty much empty as well. It was pretty inconvenient to walk in and not have necessities already there. With 7 of us staying Sunday-Friday I expected at least 1 full roll of TP in each bathroom to get us until the next day. I’ve stayed in plenty of VRBOs and have always had more than enough cleaning supplies, trash bags, etc to maintain the property for the duration of my stay…this one was definitely different and unexpected. The house itself was clean on the inside, but the outside could have been maintained a little better. I know the house is surrounded by trees but the amount of spider webs was definitely creepy and my kids did not enjoy that part at all. Beds were decently comfortable, except for the pull out couch. I would not recommend a teenager or adult sleeping on that mattress. Our 2 youngest slept on it and I was worried because it was extremely slanted where the foot of the bed was much higher than the head.

The location and views of this property were absolutely incredible. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the outdoor areas were truly the highlight of our stay. We enjoyed the tranquility and the overall atmosphere of the property. However, the house itself could use some updates and better maintenance. Several pieces of furniture appeared damaged, with signs of being chewed by animals, and some of the remote controls were in poor condition and did not work properly. The internet service was also very poor and barely usable throughout our stay. Cleanliness was another issue. There was a significant amount of dust throughout the house when we arrived, and we ended up having to do quite a bit of cleaning ourselves because it was excessive. Overall, we had a pleasant stay because of the amazing location and peaceful surroundings, but addressing these maintenance, cleanliness, and internet issues would greatly improve the guest experience.
