About the property

Studio Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

PLEASE NOTE: In winter, four wheel or all wheel drive ONLY. If there is snow, it is unlikely you will get up our driveway without awd or 4wd. With an awd or 4wd car it is a breeze.

Welcome to Belmont Treetops - your perfect getaway in the lush beauty of the Green Mountains. Although we are located in a classic quaint Vermont village, we are only minutes away from all the activities that make Vermont wonderful, especially in the winter months - skiing, skating, and snowshoeing. And, of course in summer and fall: Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, summer concerts, great theater, and restaurants.

This new large studio loft is ideal for a romantic getaway, summer holiday, fall foliage tour or ski vacation. The loft has open space, high ceilings, glass, and is furnished with antiques and cozy furniture. The best part - you feel like you are living in a treehouse as you look out over the treetops to the mountains. We're family friendly but we've also been told that Belmont Treetops is a wonderfully romantic place to stay. Writers and those seeking quiet away from their busy lives have found this to be a place they love coming back to year after year.

The partitioned sleeping area has a queen bed and is surrounded by partial walls and etched glass for privacy. A pullout couch has a full bed. There is a fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave and stocked with all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils you will need. All linens are provided. There is also Wifi and a bluetooth speaker in the studio. And our guests always enjoy the homemade treats and cheese and crackers we leave for them upon their arrival!

WINTER: We are near many ski areas: Okemo, near Ludlow, less than 15 minutes; Bromley, 30 minutes, Killington 40 minutes. You can also enjoy skating on beautiful Star Lake 2 miles away. More than 25 acres of snowshoe and cross-country trails or sledding, outside your front door!

******In winter, four wheel or all wheel drive (AWD) only. If you have front or rear wheel drive you will not make it up our driveway but if you have AWD or 4WD, coming up out driveway will be a breeze. ******** If you do not have AWD or 4wd, you accept responsibility for towing or damage to your car if you cannot make it up the driveway.

You are an easy 1.5 mile scenic walk on a tree-lined country dirt road to the charming Belmont Village, store, and Star Lake. You can start your day with a walk to the store and pick up your morning coffee and newspaper - even in the winter it is an invigorating walk! There is also an old-fashioned library, with a wide selection of books, and a local museum in town.

If you don't want to eat at home using the fully equipped kitchen, there are restaurants as close as ten minutes away. Also nearby is the famous Vermont Country Store in Weston where you will discover hard-to-find items and an impossible to resist selection of candies, cheeses, jams, and other delicious food items.

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL: We are located in the heart of the Green Mountains on nine acres of wooded land and open fields. Views of the mountains are outside your window. Beautiful walks right outside your door and more challenging hikes and miles of trails are nearby. Easy access to beautiful dirt lanes for biking and hiking. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, golf, tennis are less than 15 minutes away. For those seeking cultural activities, the acclaimed Weston Playhouse (Christopher Lloyd played was in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in the summer of 2010) is only ten minutes away and a concert can be found almost every day of the week Minimum three days from Memorial Day to Labor Day and all holiday weekends.

SPECIAL AMENITIES: In addition to all your linens (sheets and towels), we provide many of your essentials including paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, sugar, flour, a variety of spices, etc. We also have puzzles, games, and lots of books and magazines in the loft.

LOCAL INFORMATION: We have extensive information and brochures on local attractions, restaurants, places to shop, and local skiing, hiking, swimming, biking information.

We look forward to welcoming you to Vermont!

Why The Owner chose Okemo

We had a second home in Belmont (Mount Holly), Vermont for more than 30 years. We lived in San Francisco for 15 years but spent all of our winter and summer vacations here. When we moved back to the East Coast, we decided to make Vermont our home because of the beauty, wide variety of activities in the area, and because Mount Holly is a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community.

What makes this studio unique

The endless variety of activities in the area always keep us busy. In the summer, the three mile round-trip walk to the local country store is how we start every day. The summer is loaded with things to do: there is our own local music series in the center of town, great local theater and concerts, and for the sports enthusiast, there are not enough hours in the day for all the activities. In the fall, Belmont has its own Columbus Day celebration with a real apple press, a photo contest, and many vendors selling local products. In the winter, Mount Holly is known as the snow belt - we almost always have beautiful snow even when others do not. There isn't a time of year that isn't perfect - even mud season because you can smell the earth begin to thaw, see flowers begin to peak out above the last remnants of snow, and watch the trees begin to bud. It is a magical time.

Welcoming, Clean & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 stayed in the loft for a quick ski trip. We've been to Okemo several times and have always stayed on property. We were happy to find it an easy 15 minute ride to the Mountain. The welcoming brownies were a hit with the children and can't wait to make them myself. Janet & Paul were the sweetest hosts and provided any help needed. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and bathroom with linens. Highly recommend & we'll definitely stay again! Thanks Janet & Paul for having us.

Wonderful Vacation and Wonderful Hosts

  • 5 of 5

I can't recommend the treetop Loft's and it's hosts enough. We were welcomed by warm brownies and a smiling face.

Janet and Paul are so very kind. They helped in so many ways regarding the town and it's amenities. The loft was very clean and comfortable. I am a bit OCD when it comes to my cleanliness and the loft made me feel right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the small towns and all they had to offer. The mountain of OKEMO was fantastic as well. We will be back, and we wont hesitate to stay here again. Don't forget to snow show behind the loft. That was my favorite part!!

Thanks again to Janet and Paul!!

A wonderful place for a winter getaway with gracious hosts

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the loft was perfect for the relaxing weekend away that my girlfriend and I both wanted. The studio-like apartment, which was spotless upon our arrival, is attached to the main house, but feels very separate and private. Janet, who is so sweet, was there to greet us the moment we arrived. She made delicious brownies and prepared cheese and crackers for our arrival. At the loft, there are snow shoes available for use along with multiple pages of written instructions and trail information to make the experience more enjoyable. Janet and Paul provided an entire booklet of driving directions and restaurant recommendations to help us get around the surrounding area and make informed decisions on where we should dine.

Belmont is a quaint and ideal spot to get away and relax with a loved one or a small family. While Belmont is a very quiet town, Ludlow is reasonably close by with a grocery store as well as some good choices for restaurants. During our stay we were able to cook dinner thanks to the fully stocked kitchen and we were also able to dine out in Ludlow and at the Long Trail Pub & Brewery in Bridgewater, approximately 40 minutes away. We were grateful for everything that Janet and Paul provided for us during our stay at the loft, especially Janet's spot on recommendations, most of all, the one regarding the Vermont Country Store located in Weston, no more than ten minutes down the road. I would urge anyone that stays at the loft to visit multiple times during their stay as they have many unique items and articles of clothing for sale, as well as lots of different kinds of cheese, maple syrup and fudge to sample. Given another opportunity, I would definitely come back and stay in the loft again. Thank you Janet and Paul!

My husband and I received this retreat in Belmont, Vermont as a wedding gift and we were thrilled to spend the weekend in such a relaxing, beautiful environment. The studio was the perfect place to stay a weekend, I could've stayed a week! So peaceful and well stocked! Lots if interesting places to explore nearby. Janet and Paul were the perfect hosts; giving us excellent directions and recommending the best restaurants. We would definately stay with them again! Awesome weekend!
