Quality, & AFFORDABLE are words that best describe Casa Tomas. Can be 1 Bedroom/ 1 Bath / kitchen or a 2 bedroom/ 2 Bath/ kitchen. All within 5 minutes of the BEACH and the HEART of San Pancho.

Enter thru a wrought gate to a flagstone courtyard surrounded by Mexican flowering vines & palm trees, the perfect sitting area for a sunny morning coffee or that romantic evening glass of wine. The quaint rustic Mexican door takes you into your own private suite. A few features are a fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TV (Satellite), wireless Internet, air conditioned bedroom(s) & a private courtyard with table and chairs.

Every San Pancho experience is within 5 blocks of your suite. The charming little shops, art galleries, great restaurants & the best white sand beach of them all. The town is a buzz when there is a soccer match at the field at the end of the street.

Making Casa Tomas your home base, you can take a short bus ride to Sayalita for great surfing & night life; Punta Mita for snorkelling whale watching &, fishing; La Penita for its Thursday morning market. About Tom O'Reilly

I live here most of the year, retired about eight years ago after I found San Pancho, just love the size of our lovely town, best of all a one and a half mile beautiful sand beach where walking is a joy,

Tom O'Reilly purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Tom O'Reilly chose Nayarit

I have travelled the world and was always on the lookout for the perfect place to retire. Upon visiting friends in San Pancho 12 years ago, I fell in love with this quaint Mexican town and bought a place within a week! Since then I built a beautiful casa I call home. The 1 or 2 bedroom suite is for family and when they are not here, it is a rental to share with you!

What makes this apartment unique

I love the closeness to everything! I like to keep fit so I golf at any of the 5 choices (all within a 1/2 hour drive.) My favourite is Litibu (15 minutes away), a Greg Norman course managed by Four Seasons Resorts. I like to go for a good long walk. It takes about an hour to walk the beach from one end to the other and back again. And that is free!

I love to down to the brach where a bunch of friends meet for 'sunset' marguarita at one of the beach bars..

Restaurants? I love to go to Maria's for breakfast or dinner and for a special treat, I love Ola Rica. Both are quaint and true to the Mexican heritage in food and decor. Both have sidewalk seating. Mariachi bands are always there for you. It's not uncommon to have horse or two trot by.

Like to watch soccer? Games are quite the event in town. The field is at the end of our street!

I love to do the markets. Saylalita is Saturday morning. La Pinta is Thursday. Both have everything from buckets to bananas and wonderful souvenirs for you to take home. Sunday morning you have the La Cruz which is a bit more upscale and has a fabulous fish market.

As I fill out this space to describe benefits of living here, i realized how lucky I am.

I'll will start by saying that Tom and Laurie are the most gracious hosts imaginable. They strike a perfect balance of providing all the information you could possibly need and at the same time being almost invisible. The apartment was the perfect complement to the town of San Pancho, which is an incredibly gracious and welcoming town. You certainly won't be disappointed in the accommodations and this little bit of paradise. Enjoy.

Owner's Response: Such kind words. We often say to our renters when we give them the keys "This is your holiday and we strive to give you the privacy you deserve. You will not see us unless you want to." Of course, we may be out of sight but we are always there to answer those many questions you will have about our little piece of heaven.

Great trip with an excellent place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this casita/apartment in San Pancho. We would definitely recommend it whether you're staying around town and living the easy beach life, or as a base of operations to explore Sayulita, PV, Tepic, Chacala, etc. Easy access to everything in town, or 1-2 minutes from the highway if you're hitting the road for adventure.

We spent the week getting sandy and sunbaked on the beach, having dinner in town, and then heading back for a relaxing evening and deep, restful sleep. The property was extremely well-built, maintained, nicely decorated and clean, and Tom and Laurie were available if we had any questions or concerns (none really). We found enough to do without a car, but if you had a rental you would find easy and safe street parking.

All we could talk about on the way home was when we were coming back! Hopefully soon...

Excellent value

  • 4 of 5

Would have been a 5-star rating except for one night of the neighbor who has band practice for a group of local musicians called Banda Atrakadero. It was not a melodious presentation. Laurie has been trying to get the neighbor to cease their evening practices (I think it went on til about 10 p.m. or so).

Tom and Laurie were great in helping us finding the to-do's and not-to-do's in a wonderful, peaceful fishing village with a fairly large ex-pat community. The accommodations were clean and well equipped. The kitchenette was sufficient for some cooking, though there are so many good restaurants in San Pancho, that we primarily made only breakfasts and the occasional lunch/snacks. The price was a real value, and Tom and Laurie are always looking for ways to improve what is already there. There is a nice semi-private courtyard out the front door of the suite where wi-fi is best.

We were there (by accident) for the San Pancho annual Music Festival, 3 evenings of free, quality musicians from around the world who donate their time. As mentioned, excellent restaurant choices, very bucolic village. Beautiful beach, mostly very lightly visited (not recommended for swimming, though surfers were seen daily), and feet-in-the-sand palapa style restaurants serving your every need. A great place to stay away from crowds and enjoy the friendly locals.

Owner's Response: It appears the neighbours have been successful in relocating the band practise to a local bodega. We have only hear them play for 3 nights all year and i believe it was because the music festival was using the bodega they practise in.

wonderful place for a couple to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved San Pancho and our VRBO was perfect for us. The suite was clean, only a few years old, and well equipped, including beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards. We loved having our own patio and spent a lot of time sitting there and watching life go by. The suite is in a house about a 10 minute walk to the beach, in a residential neighbourhood with a wonderful mix of 'gringo homes' and mexican homes. The owners live upstairs and they gave us lots of privacy but also were around to give us advice on where to go and what to do. The whole town felt very safe and friendly. I would recommend this vrbo to a couple or if you rent out the second bedroom which is very reasonably price, then it would be good for a family of 4.

Fun times in San Pancho!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay with Laurie and Tom in San Pancho! What a great find! Beautiful suite, lovely owners and quaint Mexican village...all a short walk from an amazing white sandy beach! San Pancho is the new Sayulita! We are still daydreaming of Pacificos on the beach at sunset!
