The Blue Door Cottage rents exclusively for 30 days or more. Just bring your toothbrush-everything else is there.

In the heart of downtown Bozeman, our two bedroom, one bath craftsman style cottage is the perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Two blocks from historic Main Street, the cottage is within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shopping. We provide two cruiser style bikes, if you would rather explore beautiful Bozeman by bike. There's an extensive trail system and Bogart Park, where the Bozeman's Farmer's market is held (June-September) are both one block away. Our popular public library is also within walking distance.

The Blue Door Cottage is also the perfect location for Bozeman's renowned annual Sweet Pea Festival, an easy walk, only a few blocks blocks away. Farther afield is Bridger Bowl Ski Area - 12 miles, Big Sky - one hour and Yellowstone National Park, a gorgeous 11/2 hour drive. For hot springs lovers, Bozeman Hot Springs is a 20 minute drive and Norris Hot Springs is about an hour away. MSU campus is 6-7 blocks away.

The rental is a newly restored, 1920's bungalow with loads of character. Wood floors, granite counters, a fully equipped kitchen, two queen sized beds with down comforters, 600 thread count sheets and new mattresses make certain you will not sacrifice comfort for character. A blow up queen sized bed is also available if you require additional space.

Wifi and cable T.V. are provided on a flat screen T.V. There are three I-home units in each bedroom and the kitchen, so bring your i-pod.

The artwork features local Bozeman artists and photographers.

Two well behaved dogs are welcomed. The yard is fenced, has a picnic table, chairs and BBQ provided. There is off street parking for one vehicle.

We look forward to sharing our little piece of Bozeman with you. As long time residents of Bozeman, we are happy to assist you with tips and favorite spots for skiing, hiking, biking and eating while in the area.

About Jamie Leachman

Long time residents of Bozeman and passionate world travelers we often rent VRBO rentals. We know exactly what we find welcoming and important while away from home and we have tried to create this in our Bozeman rental. We love traveling, but are always delighted to return to our wonderful Bozeman.

We recently purchased the rental to house our steady stream of family and friends who agree that Bozeman is the best. When it is not being used by our loved ones, it is available to new friends.

Jamie Leachman purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Jamie Leachman chose Yellowstone Country

This is our very conscious hometown. Our children were born here and enjoy it the way we do.

We live seven miles outside of town, but always thought that if we had a house in town it would be in this neighborhood. When we started the house hunt, we loved this little cottage and all it's character.

What makes this cottage unique

We love to ski, hike, bike and climb. Bozeman offers all of these and much more. We are happy to share all our special spots with you. shhhhhh

Fabulous May stay!

  • 5 of 5

I can't believe I haven't written my review. I thought I did. There are absolutely no negatives associated with this property. Location was great, cottage was very charming, everything imaginable was provided, extremely photogenic city, the tulips - OMG, restaurants, shopping, Yellowstone...I could go on and on. I felt so comfortable in the Blue Door Cottage. There was something wrong with the blender (my sister loves "green" drinks - yuk!) and it was replaced immediately. Can't believe there could be any negative comments regarding the cottage. I would stay again in a heart beat.

Location with Character

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. Used as our base for XC skiing. Hylite Canyon trails only 20 minutes away and Yellowstone Park within 90 minutes. Great charm and character and well appointed with all the amennnities. Clean! Ample room for 2 couples. Loved the large dining room table that allowed us to invite new friends over for dinner. Has large mud room at entrance with lots of closet space to store skis fishing equipmment etc. Now the best part you are only 2 blocks away from the heart of downtown Bozeman which has tons of great resturants and shops. You do share the building with other tenants but cottage is so well insulated noise is not an issue. Monthly rates are a real value whatever the season. Your landlord is a gracious host who lives locally.

Better than we expected!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this for my mom for the month of February. She was by herself most of the time, so knowing someone (some extremely nice guests) were up stairs, was a comfort to her. When my family joined her for a week, we were very pleasantly surprised. It is decorated just beautifully, and the linens and kitchen amenities are top of the line. It was a great location for us as well. Jaime and her husband have done a beautiful job on the Blue Door Cottage. Thank you for your wonderful welcome basket too! The only bad part of the entire experience was having to leave. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Very close to Bridger Bowl, walking distance to anything you need downtown.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Blue Door Cottage for the first 10 days of July, and we wish we could have stayed here for the full 6 weeks we were in Bozeman. It really did feel like a home - the furnishings are extremely comfy, the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, the beds and linens are top quality, the wifi is fast, and for those days when the weather isn't the best, the large, flat screen tv has a full selection of cable channels including on-demand. The cottage is in the perfect location, and unless you're headed for a day excursion, you never need to get in your car. It's a short walk to downtown, restaurants, and a couple grocery stores. A block from the Tuesday farmer's market, the pool, and the extensive trail system. And the bikes they provide are great - 7 speed town bikes that also perform well on the trails. The last reviewer commented that privacy was an issue, but we didn't feel that way at all. This is the main floor of an historic house that has been converted into three units. We got to know the other renters and they were very friendly and quite used to having folks on the main floor. We have a dog, and we pretty much lived like we do at home and never felt uncomfortable. There's also a nice fenced side yard to relax in with a gas grill and picnic table. We've stayed in lots of vrbo rentals; this place gets an enthusiastic two thumbs up!

Nice place, but....

  • 3 of 5

Great location....unfortunately, we were unaware of the fact that this space was shared with other tenants that live in the basement of the house. We are a family with 3 young children and we were nervous the entire stay about noise children make. Not to mention the fact that we also have a small dog which made noise when we would leave him behind because he was in a strange environment..... This has never been a problem for us before....we are frequent VRBO users and have never shared our space while vacationing. We also had the unfortunate experience of having to listen to construction going on in the house, on the top floor during our stay. Great location....but if privacy is what your looking for this is not the right place for you.

Owner's Response: I think it best to defer to the wisdom of my mother- If you can't say something nice, then nothing is best. We do regret that "momgirl" did not enjoy the cottage the way that every other guest has. I suppose not every shoe fits. Jamie Blue Door Cottage

Great for Out of Town Families with Students at MSU

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is even better than depicted in the photos. It was beautifully furnished yet very cozy. The hardwood floors and granite counters were a wonderful surprise! The location is terrific for those visiting MSU or trying out the restaurants or coffee places downtown. The neighborhood is quiet, the cottage is surrounded by quaint homes. The area is very pedestrian friendly so exploring by foot or bike is easy. The hosts had a beautiful food basket waiting for us, complete with a birthday balloon for our daughter! Jamie was wonderful to work with...we will definitely return again!
