About this property

Secluded Cabin Retreat w/ Hot Tub and Scenic Views

“Skyview Cabin” is exquisitely set to serve a your home away from home. Sitting atop the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a few miles away from the Appalachian Trail, you'll find endless activities nearby and plenty to keep you and your family busy while at the cabin including a brand new hot tub, screened in porch, basement movie and game room, and plenty of spaces to hide to get some work done if needed.

Your adventure starts with the drive to the cabin, which sits at the top of Virginia's Blue Mountain and offers stunning mountain and valley views of more than 50 miles in clear weather. The cabin itself centers around offering plenty of opportunities to relax and connect with friends and family members. The first floor main living area includes an open plan kitchen, dining area, and living room with oversized comfortable couches centered around a two-story fireplace.

The kitchen has been equipped by hosts who love to cook and entertain themselves, so you'll have access to all of the cookware and appliances for any occasion. Highlights include a full size oven, microwave, full size fridge, Vitamix blender, KitchAid Mixer, crockpot, toaster, waffle iron, and plenty of pots and pans suitable for any dish. You'll also have more than enough dinnerware, wine glasses, and silverware for you and your guests.

The first floor also has access to the large screened in porch with plenty of seating and from which you'll appreciate the beautiful sunrise and sunsets that make the valley and mountain views so spectacular. A large grill is available on the front porch as well, just outside the kitchen for quick access. And finally you'll find two bedrooms (each with their own workspaces) and a full-size bathroom on the first floor.

The second floor loft features two futons and a 43" TV and is the perfect space to relax and catch up on a good book.

The basement living area features a full sectional couch and additional seating surrounding the cabin's second fireplace and a 75" TV and sound bar. The space also features oversized games. A third bedroom, full bathroom, and laundry room are also located on this floor. Outside the basement doors, you'll find the hot tub with easy access for any weather.

We welcome up to one dog at this property - please add a pet to your reservation to cover the additional fee. Additional pets are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please send an inquiry to discuss. Service animals are welcome, but please let us know about them in advance so we can let our cleaner know.

Our area is surrounded by wildlife - you will regularly see deer and may even sneak a peak at a black bear hanging out on the mountain. While the house rarely houses critters of its own, the occasional bug or tiny creature may make a visit!

We have guest wellness and safety guide all of our decisions. All bedding, including sheets, quilts, and blankets are washed between every reservation and all bedrooms have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and multiple fire extinguishers are available. Our cabin also has a Minut sound monitoring device centrally located in the hallway - the device monitors decibel levels but does not collect or record audio. It's settings are triggered to let us know when noise at the level of a party is present.

We know many folks book for our hottub! Our team inspects and cleans the hottub between every rental - if the hottub is unavailable during your trip, we will process a refund of $50 per weekend day and $25 per weekday.

Great retreat
The kitchen was awesome and the big screen in the basement made for some epic movie nights. The flooring on the main level was a little hazardous as some pieces stabbed in our shoes but I would highly recommend this home! AMAZING VIEWS

Simply Wonderful
All you need to bring are cloths and groceries. All the amenities provided were fantastic, with a well stocked kitchen for cooking. The cabin was superbly clean and well organized with all remotes, cabinets, and drawers clearly labeled, the bedding, linens, and pillows were of nice quality. An online guidebook tells you everything you need to know including local places to eat or grab groceries once checked in. The hot tub provided a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the view or stars, was very clean and well maintained. The customer service was prompt and gracious. In addition, we really loved how the cabin was decorated for Christmas with beautiful lighted garland inside and out. The area is quiet, peaceful and the cabin a warm and cozy place to spend time and unwind. It was even better than the pictures!

Beautiful cabin with a view. Beyond our expectations.
I know this is a long review and this is the first time I have reviewed a rental but I was so impressed. Peaceful, surprisingly roomy, loved there are so many areas to relax in small groups. We like to gather together and there is room for that ,but sometimes it is so nice to split in groups. You could sit in the beautiful screen porch, living room, loft, awesome downstairs with plenty of seating, beautiful lighted fireplace was a hit, giant tv, for the younger set to game or watch movies, then the hot tub with a nice view. Our host Matt was amazing when I texted him he would get back quickly and was so accomodating. So much care was taken in putting this cabin together to make your stay comfortable. My grandaughter is in culinary school and I am quite the chef. Because of the discription of the kichen we planned our meals packed our food and crossed our fingers it was really true.We had 3 generations cooking together in the lovely kitchen with awesome high quality pans etc. I cant even list them all. We loved the glass trays we used for charcuterie and nice dinnerware set for meals. If I knew there was a vitamix there I would have done some planning and used it.. We are big coffee people. they have a coffee press, k cup, and a drip maker there. Kitchenaid mixer. Nice set of wineglsses. great bbq. All the beds were very very comfortable. Everyone said they loved their bed and slept so good. I would stay again when I am in the area and hightly reccomend
