STUNNING OCEAN FRONT HOME on PRIVATE ISLAND - Everett
o PRIVATE LOCATION. Located on Hat (Gedney) Island, a members-only community 5 miles offshore from Port Gardner in Everett, 30 miles north of Seattle
o ARCHITECTURAL GEM. This no-bank waterfront beach house has breathtaking 180' views of Whidbey Island, Camano Island, Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains with a private marina, rated nine-hole golf course, and tennis/pickle ball court. Private boat access and a lack of commercial activity on the island make for a peaceful get-away from the hustle and bustle, and a unique adventure for viewing eagles, crabs, whales, herons, and seals.
o TRANSPORTATION. Included in your stay, we provide an on-island host to meet you at the Hat Island marina, help get people and supplies to the house, and introduce you to the house systems.
o This beach house has two wings connected by a huge Iron Wood (Ipe) deck with outdoor lounging and outdoor eating areas. The two-story bedroom wing has four ocean-view bedrooms, two with private balconies. The glass enclosed kitchen/dining/living area has giant sliding doors, connecting the outside with the inside.
o AMENITIES. The house is fully equipped for your comfort. Amenities include a wood-burning stove/fireplace, fast Wi-fi, stereo with CD player and Aux. cable, TV with DVD player and loads of DVD's, games, puzzles, big kid and little kid toys, and books.
o KITCHEN. Fully appointed gourmet kitchen of bamboo cabinetry and granite counter tops.
o LAUNDRY. Laundry facilities on main level. Duvet covered down comforters for all seasons and top quality mattresses.
o BEACH. Enjoy kayaking, walking, swimming, paddle boarding, crabbing, clamming, scuba diving, golfing, beach combing, small boating, paddle boarding, (signed Boat Waiver required).
o RATES SHOWN ARE FOR UP TO 8 GUESTS. ADDITIONAL GUESTS OVER EIGHT INCUR EXTRA GUEST CHARGES. MAXIMUM 10 GUESTS - NO EXCEPTIONS. All guests must be listed on the rental agreement and no persons are allowed on the premises who are not listed on the rental agreement.
o GUEST RULES. No groups of unrelated persons age 13-29 may rent this house.
o RENTAL CONTRACT. Signing of a rental agreement is required to finalize booking, at which time we will also send information about parking, golfing, crabbing, the boat waiver, foot ferry information, maps and house system information.
o SMALL BOAT USE. A signed waiver from all guests is required before borrowing our small water craft.
o NO PETS. Sorry, but due to owner allergies, we STRICTLY DO NOT ALLOW PETS, EVEN SMALL ONES.

Our teens love to explore the wetlands and use the kayaks and paddle boards, play games and read books. We love to catch Dungeness crab, pick blackberries and bake a crisp, all while enjoying the expansive beach views.

Hat Island is a breathtakingly beautiful secluded island not far from the city of Seattle . With the help of a fabulous local architect Chris Serra, and talented designer Julie Meyers, we built this custom home between 2006 and 2009 as a relaxing, fun, family vacation spot away from busy city life. The house prioritized amenities for great sleeping and high-end cooking. All the bedrooms have a lovely view; two have private balconies.

We see lots of wildlife: whales passing through in the springtime, eagles, seals, birds, and rabbits. Hiking around the island is a great way to get a 4.5 mile walk and see the local geology. Crabbing, clamming and berry picking are (in season) are outside your door.
If you sign the waiver for each participant or their parent, you may also borrow our recreational kayaks, stand-up paddle-boards, and row boats. We have many life jackets on site, but bring any special sizes you may need.
There are some rules due to the nature of a private island HOA and the geography. For example, we do not rent to groups that include unrelated teenagers or 20-somethings, the Home Owner's Association has rules about fires that you must strictly follow, and we ask guests not to disturb the neighbors with noise. The HOA requires guests to register in order to be on the island. Our house rules help everyone leave the house in pleasing shape for the next guests. We have an on-island host to meet you at the docks, help you to the house, and show you the house systems.
NOTICE TO HAT ISLAND HOMEOWNERS: Please note that if you OWN a home on Hat island, our contract requires three important things: 1) that you list all registered guests on our Confirmation Page at the end of the signed contract and commit that no one other than registered guests will be on the premises at any time. There is a camera on the exterior of the house and a fine of $200 per extra person, per 24-hour period, for any unregistered guests on the premises; and 2) island home owners may not borrow our vehicle; and 3) the entire group of registered guests must arrive at the house at the same time and meet with our island host before checking in in order to learn the house systems.
