About Owner

Hazel & Peter owned an upscale B&B in Deep Cove, North Vancouver for 7 years. Their interior detail of the chalet has evolved over the years. Hazel had her own wholesale Textile business for 30 years and recently retired. The chalet has been a wonderful place to share with the many people that have come for Honeymoons, Family reunions and relaxation. Look up our link and take the Java 360 deg. tour of the whole interior of the chalet.

Why Owner chose Fraser Valley B

The proximity to Vancouver was the attracting feature for the initial purchase of the property. It is only an hour and 40 minute drive from North Vancouver with straight highway all the way. The chalet has been our haven of rest from the bustle of the city. The Alpine Park path that follows the Sumallo River is one of our favourite walks to start the day.

What makes this Chalet unique

This summer a new faility will be available at Sunshine Valley with 2 pools, indoor and outdoor, a small restaurant and a liquor store. Aside from the wonderful easy hikes available, as well as mountainbiking, snowmobiling and quad trails, it has all the attributes necessary for a wonderful experience in the mountains.

When we arrived we were surprised how the inside was bigger than we expected. The property is rustic and comfortable. A perfect location to explore the surrounding area and interesting places to visit. The neighbouring river offers a short hike to enjoy and explore. The property is clean and very well equipped. There was no cell service during our stay which was a good thing. There is a landline telephone service available in the property. The caretaker was always available and a fantastic host.

Four days relaxing in the nest

                                                      Andrew K.

We took a four day weekend to get away from the city and the chalet was the perfect getaway. We took advantage of the "unlucky" rainy weather to hunker down and concentrate on puzzles, games, and cooking. (We did a bit of tubing and snowshoeing at Manning Park, too.) The kitchen is very well equipped, the heated floors are fantastic in the morning, and the cabin itself is exactly what we wanted it to be - cozy, kitschy, and warm. Skylights keep things bright in the day, and the fireplace takes over at night. Our group ranged from 4 to 8 adults and there was plenty of room. Nice to have such a short drive from Vancouver! Would recommend it to anyone.

                                                      A Nest above the rest

                                                      Jacey G.

I'm having a hard time writing this review because there are so many great things I want to say, I don't know where to start. The cabin was incredible! Kooky decor, spacious (even for our group of ten), and everything we needed for a successful weekend away from the city. There are oodles of movies and board games to keep you occupied, and the indoor fireplace was a really nice touch. The fully-equipped kitchen made meal-planning a breeze too. We didn't get to explore a lot around the area but we went on a few walks and there's a quaint river running nearby. Owners and caretaker were also very accommodating and helpful, courteous and prompt to respond to emails. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer! Would love to go back soon. :)
