Rome is a great small city with an amazing, vibrant downtown area for shopping and eating at unique restaurants. Rome has 3 universities/colleges and a huge medical community that is a hub for the surrounding counties in Georgia and Alabama for shopping, dining, education, and medicine. We also have more detailed local attraction information in each of the cabins for all the guests staying at the ranch. The nearest grocery store is Walmart/Sam's 20 minutes from the ranch.

We feel that the ranch speaks for itself on VRBO, so WE DO NOT OFFER TOURS OF THE PROPERTY.

Please note WE ONLY RENT OUT THE ENTIRE RANCH WITH THE FOUR CABINS AND NOT INDIVIDUAL CABINS. We require a two night minimum stay to use our facilities.

We are firm on the the 28 MAXIMUM GUESTS--NO EXCEPTIONS, No Pet Policy, the No Early Check-In's, No Late Check Out Policy, No ATV's, and No Hunting.

The Swimming Pool is best used from May to August. Guests can swim in the other months, and we've had guests swim in November and March when it's been 80 degrees as a high for days. NOTE: There is no pool heater. We found that the weather makes the difference in when guests swim and not the pool heater.

IN the JUNE and JULY months--we ONLY rent from SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. ABSOLUTELY NO WEDDINGS or large events over 28 guests.

We ask for a 2 night stay, minimum. You can pay by check to avoid the 3.1% fee and the VRBO fee.

About Laura Mumber

My husband and I have slowly added to the ranch to make it an ideal place for anyone to stay and enjoy nature, but have all the modern amenities.

Laura Mumber purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Laura Mumber chose Northwest High Country

We bought the property because it is close to where we live, but feels like we drove for hours once we get there because the beauty is unbelievable.

What makes this cabin unique

Our family enjoys swimming, hiking, playing on the Sport Court, golfing, picking blackberries in June, mountain blueberries in July, and a few apples in August. We love looking at the stars at night and the Milky Way clearly above our heads. Watching the sunrise over the pool, mountains, and the lake is one of our favorite family activities, as well as driving to the ridge to see the sun set over Lookout Mountain, GA.

Most activities not on sight are located in Rome less than 30 minutes away. All major activities can be found in Atlanta, Birmingham, or Chattanooga.

Awesome stay

  • 5 of 5

We held a retreat for a group of 10 from March 31-April 2, 2017. The ranch was absolutely gorgeous.. the pictures don't do it justice. The facilities were perfect for meals prepared by Kathy Patrick with Meals on Heels. The facilities were also perfect for small group sessions both inside and outside. Truly outstanding on all levels. Thanks for sharing your place.

beautiful property! Definitely a "retreat'

  • 5 of 5

I hold retreats for yoga students at Many Streams, and it has become my students favorite place to go. It is far enough away we feel like we are getting away, but close enough for emergencies at home. I have been holding retreats here for a number of years and it has always been an awesome experience. Thanks!

Beautiful get away

  • 5 of 5

The Smith family just completed their second stay at Many Streams Ranch, and hopefully next year at Labor Day we will have our third stay. For the early risers, sitting on the porch and watching the sun come up over the mountain is breath taking. It gave us a time to be thankful for our family and the many blessings we have. The cabins were comfortable, clean, and had a lot of interesting things to look at. We hope to come back next year in 2018. Thank you for sharing your wonderful retreat and view with us.

Great Larger Family Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

I rented the property in August of 2017 for about 19 people which the property accommodated completely. In August the temperature was about a high of 84 daily with lows at night in the 60s--quite good compared to Texas. It is humid compared to Texas, but we were worried it might be a little hotter. The porches all have great fans which makes them outstanding for simply sitting, talking and enjoying the amazing property. The views are wonderful and just hiking around the property is worthwhile. The hike up to the sunset ridge is about 1.5 miles and has an elevation change of about 500 feet, so it took our group about 35 minutes (with people in their 60s, not in the best shape, etc). But the view is really worth it at sunset. We saw deer every night. Hawks and other wildlife were also prevalent. The pictures don't really do the natural beauty justice. My father flew into Birmingham to avoid ATL, as the airports are relatively equa-distant to the property. But I think ATL is pretty easy to navigate and there wasn't really traffic coming out of (or driving back into) atlanta on the drive to the property. There is a good Costco en route about an hour away from the property, and the Kroger in Rome was very good as well. My one quibble is that both groups of cabins (bear & moose up the mountain and the deer cabins below) have large lamps during the night that turn on automatically. They are obviously great if you want outdoor light at night, but there were times we wanted to be able to see the night stars a little better. You can turn off the upper one at the breaker box, but I couldn't figure out how to do the same for the lower light. It would just have been nice to be able to turn them both off, as desired. It's a small nit to illustrate how much we enjoyed the whole experience. The owner is very professional and a pleasure to work with.

Owner's Response: Daniel, Thank you for your detailed review about the ranch! I am glad your family had a great stay. We do not have a way to turn off the light at the Deer Cabins. We find the Sport Court is the best place to see the stars at night because the light pollution is the least in that area. Please come back to the ranch any time. Laura

Beautiful Property Maintained Perfectly!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have been hosting annual family reunions for 14 years now for a group of 25 people, age range fro 1 to 70. Many Streams Ranch is as good as we have ever found. The property is beautiful, the grounds very well maintained and the four cabin are clean and really livable. The cabins are also as well equipped as we have ever found.

The entire experience was great dealing with Laura, the owner. We had one problem that was addressed within an hour. The pool and basketball court was a big hit with the kids.
