Thank you for your consideration of vacationing at our Cabin. We think it is wonderful! I was asked a funny but serious question, 'Why are our rates less expensive than others....what's wrong with the cabin'. I answered honestly. With the economy the way it is I want to be competitive but rent out our cabin. Nothing is wrong with it. We are putting our kids through college. I am fair and honest. Please don't mistake that for being naive-----I just don't rent to anyone. I screen my renters and look for high integrity'. We keep it very clean and organized. Any feedback is appreciated. Enjoy!
Karen Carmazzi purchased this cabin in 2000
We choose this location for two reasons. The blue colors of the Lake are considered the prettiest 'Blues' on the Lake and you get to experience 'old-Tahoe' in this location. You don't have commercial building and the hustle of a city next to our cabin.
Some unique benefits of our cabin: We are on the Lake side. We are 3 minutes walking distance to our own private home owners association Pier and small beach. Our property is on a private flat dirt road, we have a wonderful view of the Blue Lake Tahoe and the north side of the cabin is greenbelt property thus, spacious forestry to admire. we have our own horseshoe pit for hours of play. You really feel like you found something special at this location.
We just returned from a week at this cabin in the woods, and really enjoyed our stay there! We had 3 young children with us, and there were plenty of beds and bedrooms for all of us. Many other family members actually had homes on the lake, but their decks were hot in the morning, and the lake was too deep for our youngsters to jump off their docks. We liked the cool mornings on the deck in the forest, and the beautiful sandy beach for the kids to wade into. We even named one of the rocks "mermaid rock", since it was easy to swim to. The owner was very easy to work with, and communicated promptly and often!
We have stayed in this cabin/house for 3 consecutive years with our 2 young boys. We really enjoy the location. It is a great location for exploring the west shore of Tahoe, less than 30 minutes to either south shore or Tahoe city. Lots of great beaches, hikes and adventures within minutes drive. Cabin has everything you need and is well kept and clean. Homeowners pier/beach is a great bonus and a very fun place for a cup of morning coffee, or evening glass of wine. The boys love running to the pier, riding their bikes and exploring around the cabin. The owner is very easy to work with and communicates promptly. We are already planning a week stay for next year.
We just spent a week at this great cabin. This was our first trip to Lake Tahoe and we couldn't have picked a better location. The owner was so great to work with. She responded to all my questions in a timely manner. The cabin had everything you could possibly need. The dock was great and just a short distance from the cabin. We hope to stay here again, our 4 daughters loved it. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
I took my 4 teenage grandchildren to Tahoe for the week and we stayed in this lovely cabin. The loft was great for the kids to have some time to themselves and give the adults a little break!! :) The kitchen had all we needed for our cooking (2 budding chefs in the group!) The walk to the beach was easy and we were even able to easily get our kayak and paddle boards down. It was convenient for side trips to Emerald Bay and Stateline. The kids enjoyed the DVDs but it was so peaceful and beautiful there we didn't even turn on the TV. Yay! Great owners to work with. And, yes, we loved the caramel corn! We definitely would return on our next trip to the Tahoe area.
Everything about this house was perfect for our family of five. We were able to walk to the beach almost every day and put the sand toys, beach chairs and blankets to good use. The upstairs bedroom and loft area gave our 13, 11 and 8 year olds a cozy space for themselves when they needed it.
This was our first year staying on the west side of the lake and we loved the peace and quiet. The location is ideal for a short trip to Emerald Bay and several other great beaches or to SLT for some adult time. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and found absolutely everything we needed in the house during our stay.
While the location is good for visiting nearby beaches and hiking trails you may never want to leave this comfy cabin. The owners have stocked it with lots of great games, puzzles and books. And games of horseshoes can keep a family occupied for hours! The view from the deck is gorgeous and a treat almost any time of the day. We hope to come back soon and thank the owners greatly for making their home available!
“Great base for hiking and beach days”
We can highly recommend this cabin as a base for fabulous hiking in the Tahoe basin. The best day hikes on the west shore are within easy reach, so we hiked 8-10 miles every day in the Desolation and the Granite Chief Wildernesses and loved returning to this comfy cabin. South of the cabin is the Rubicon Trail, the Grass Lake, Half Moon, Susie Lakes, the Cascade Falls and Granite Lake hikes. North of the cabin are the Crag Lake, Five Lakes, General Creek hikes, among others. We enjoyed the solitude of the private Homeowner's pier and small beach in the late afternoon for sun downers, after soothing our feet and cooling our bodies at Bliss Beach. You don't need to bring any groceries because SaveMart and Safeway in Tahoe City have everything you might ever want. We look forward to returning.
SUMMER: Just 3 walking minutes is our own private Home Owners Association Pier and Beach to Rubicon Bay (if Lake is high there might not be a beach). You also have access to a buoy.
WINTER: Just yards from our cabin is a small snow hill for your family to enjoy. We have snow sleds that you may borrow. You will get hours of FUN from this snow hill and when you get tired and cold walk back (3 minutes), warm up, dry out the gloves and sit by the fire and enjoy hot chocolate!!! A real gem!!!
