Peaceful River Living

Cozy 3 bedroom 2.5 bath, condo located on the water with access to Lake Ponchartrain and the Tchefuncte River. Peaceful and quaint, lots of wildlife. Minutes away from local restaurants and shopping.
This is on the water living. That comes with bugs, mosquitos, spiders and sharing your outside space with them. You'll see an alligator in the water, there will be raccoons, cranes, lots of birds. the dock is great for fishing.
You can bring your boat and launch right from the complex and tie up on the private dock outside the condo.
This is a very peaceful area, great for relaxing.

Our overall experience was a very positive one. Location is somewhat exotic, with tons of different wildlife native to southern Louisiana. The townhouse was clean and very comfortable. Hey, stop it. This location is about an 90 minute drive to New Orleans across the Causeway Bridge. If you like wildlife, beautiful scenery, and quietness this is the place to be.

We had a great stay - comfortable beds, stocked kitchen and the wildlife out the back door had me sitting on the porch mornings for hours! We will return!

Quiet Little Spot

My husband and I brought our son down for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay. The location is clean and quiet. We were thankful there were sandwich bags available to pack lunches to take on day trips.

Great time in Madisonville!

This place is very clean and nice! The pictures truly reflect the property. Amanda was very responsive to messages and rules were simple and easy to follow. The wildlife was a bonus! Highly recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

Nice stay in the bayou

We enjoyed our stay here in south Louisiana. This place was perfect for our family of 5. I just wish it had a keurig. I wasn't prepared for a regular coffee pot, but thankfully the dollar store was close by to get regular coffee. The host was very easy to communicate with & made our stay easy.

Graduation weekend

It was beautifully situated in a quite little area. It was nice to sit by the water and relax. There was plenty of space for the whole family to hangout after the graduation ceremony. I will definitely rent again.

Just right for us

My wife and I took the opportunity to get away to Madisonville in early October and this place did not disappoint! We wanted to stay somewhere private and quiet and eat at fun local restaurants as well as drive into NOLA to spend some time there. We could not have picked a better Vrbo for our needs. It was very comfortable and we would gladly book again.

Lovely Riverfront Cottage

I had a family of 4, plus extended family that came to hang during the day. Planty of space. The guys enjoyed fishing of the back docks. Nice beds and bathrooms. Plenty of room in the kitchen and open kiving room area.

Great views from screened porch!

We enjoyed the quiet, the views and most of all the screened porch. Nice condo with everything you need and nature too. It's on the water, so we enjoyed the quiet time sitting on the screened porch watching the fish jump, the water birds feeding & preening, and deer quietly walk along the edge of the woods. We recommend this condo and host very much.

Convenient location

Location was convenient to where we needed to be. Inside was clean and had all basic cooking utensils. Rating 4 star because the screened in back porch was filthy with dust, cobwebs and outdoor furniture was very dingy and dirty so it was a shame we could not use the porch overlooking water during our stay.

Beautiful Getaway

Loved it! We spent a month in this lovely little getaway house. It’s on the waterway of Lake Ponchartrain. The area is fairly remote with lots of wildlife. The owners were responsive to our questions. The internet was a little glitchy but given the remote location it’s not that surprising. We spent hours on the porch overlooking the water and watching fish jump!

Nice area to relax and fish

Overall we had a good stay but the condo did have a few issues. Listed as having a bbq grill and there was none. Screens on porch were ripped in several spots which let mosquitoes in. Downstairs bed was listed as full but was a daybed I think, definitely not full size. Could be a beautiful place with a little upkeep. Highlight of the stay was Mr. Alligator who kept trying to steal the guys fishing bobbers. Unfortunately we left early because of hurricane warnings.

Disappointing

We were disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of this property. Upon arrival, there was a strong mildew smell, water stains on the ceiling, stained carpets, dirty walls, and dead bugs on the floor. Many areas, such as the front porch and balcony, were covered in cobwebs and debris, with visible wasp nests, and the back patio was in disarray, with loose and raised bricks. Though a grill was listed as an amenity, there was none available. Inside, we found open food containers in cabinets, a dirty dishwasher, and a dried dead frog on the living room rug, in addition to broken fixtures and disorganized cables. While the property manager was responsive, these issues reflect inconsistent upkeep. Unfortunately, this was one of the least well-maintained VRBOs we've rented, and we hope future guests have a better experience.
