Newly renovated in 2023, “The Old Turner Inn” is a beautiful 1926 historic Cape Cod, formerly a B&B but now rented entirely to accommodate up to 12 guests! Our bespoke property blends the old with the new and every detail has been tastefully appointed with your comfort, privacy, and safety in mind. Perfect for multi-generations (like ours) and intimate gatherings! You'll enjoy 5 ensuite bedrooms with blackout curtains, 7 bathrooms, separate dining room, fully equipped kitchen, beverage bar, interior commercial laundry room w/double washer/dryers, split-system A/C & heat in every room, 5 electric fireplaces, Smart TVs, free Wi-Fi, and outdoor foot-shower to wash off the day's sandy beach. Rest easy knowing that entry smart locks, outdoor security cameras, and indoor fire/carbon monoxide monitors are doing their job. All of this in the best location in "the flats" which are the heart of Avalon, mere steps from the beach, the Green Pleasure Pier, restaurants, grocery, shopping, Museum, the Catalina Express and the iconic Casino!

We had a fantastic stay. There were 9 of us from 3 generations and everyone had plenty of space and was very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen for all of us. Hosts are absolutely fantastic and go out of their way to help with recommendations, advice, bookings, and are super friendly. As we were departing, many of our group were trying to figure out when we could stay here next!

We had the most amazing stay at this charming historic home on Catalina Island. The house and the hosts truly made our trip unforgettable. The location is absolutely perfect just steps from the beach and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and groceries.The home itself was ideal for our family reunion with our adult children and their significant others. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom, which made it incredibly comfortable and relaxing for everyone. The kitchen and dining areas were perfectly set up for gathering, cooking, and spending time together.Even though we had quite a bit of rain during our stay, we still had a wonderful time cozying up by the fire, playing games, and watching football. The house created the perfect atmosphere for making memories.The hosts were absolutely lovely, welcoming, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. We can’t recommend this home enough and would absolutely stay here again.

A magical stay in Avalon!

We loved staying at The Old Turner Inn! The hosts were fantastic, the kitchen was very well stocked (and my family are big cooks!), the location is great and super central to everything. It seemed like the house had been recently remodeled, and very nicely. Everything was comfortable and tasteful. We hope to stay again sometime!

Absolutely gorgeous house right in the heart of Avalon! Our family of 12 (grown kids and grandkids) LOVED it! We were able to walk everywhere. The home is spacious and had tons of room for all of us. Everyone had their own bedroom with a beautiful attached bath. The kitchen is gorgeous and had everything you could possibly need. Asheley and Dennis are the most amazing above-and-beyond hosts! There was fresh fruit, bottled water, champagne and even a delicious carrot cake waiting for us on arrival. Dennis even hauled us around in their golf cart and took my husband on a fun tour of the island. If your looking for the perfect place in Avalon, THIS IS IT!!

Property was well-located 2 blocks off the Avalon pier behind Vons. Easy walk to everything…. Home was clean, recently removated and in great working order with great interior design and furnishings. Most importantly, Asheley and Dennis, our SUPER hosts made this trip so very special! Their property is beyond the description and the photos...every detail has been considered. The well-stocked kitchen, the heavenly beds/bedding, the sparkling clean bathrooms (all 6.5 of them!), and the carefully considered decor. (Including many pieces of art from local Catalina artists.) 40th Anniversary Trip 2024!

Our family of 11 stayed for 3 days at the Old Turner Inn and it was beautiful! With 5 bedrooms (each having their own bathroom) a large kitchen and enclosed patio areas for eating and playing games- the Old Turner Inn did not disappoint. The owners were wonderful and the location is a great location- close to the beach, active areas, shopping and parks for the littles. If you have a large group or a small group but you want room to spread out- this is the place to book in Catalina. It will not be our last stay...

My family, friends, and I just returned from a stay and I can say without a doubt that it is on of the most beautiful homes I have ever stayed in. The property itself is stunning, meticulously cared for, and was the perfect setting for our weekend getaway. On top of that, the location is absolutely perfect in Avalon—super quiet, yet convenient to all the shops, and restaurants.What truly set this stay apart, however, was the incredible thoughtfulness of our hosts, Asheley and Dennis. They went so far above and beyond to make our trip special. They knew we were celebrating my 40th birthday, and when we arrived, we were greeted with a cake, a bottle of wine, and a generous gift card to one of their favorite local restaurants, the Lobster Trap. It was such a kind and personal gesture that truly touched all of us. I would 1,000% recommend their home to anyone visiting Catalina Island. The combination of a gorgeous, comfortable home in a perfect location with hosts who treat you with such genuine care is unbeatable.I am already planning my next trip back and can't wait to bring my entire immediate family so they can experience the same incredible memories we all brought back with us.To Asheley and Dennis: From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for making my birthday weekend extra special! Our Memorable Avalon Experience

I have been taking my family to Avalon for almost a decade now, and it’s a very special place. Due to our kids' schedules over the years, it’s been tough to maintain consistent dates, so we’ve lost access to certain places where we made a lot of memories. In this case, it was a godsend. The place was exceptional. Every detail was perfect, and each room had its own charm. The place was immaculate, and the location was ideal—close to the beach and centrally located enough to walk to the grocery store in just a few minutes. We were truly blessed to have found 232 Catalina. Lastly, but most importantly, Dennis and Asheley were incredibly welcoming, supportive, and easy to work with. They went out of their way for us and genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great experience. We are immensely grateful for their hospitality and kindness.

The Old Turner Inn was phenomenal. Our group of 9 women absolutely loved our stay. You know it’s a hit when everyone, after picking a room and settling in separately, says this is the best VRBO they’ve been in. The space itself was beautifully decorated, well appointed and i still dream of the sun porch.. The location was perfect — right near the Vons for any supplies and of course steps to restaurants and shops. The best part was how accommodating Asheley was — we had an early ferry and she was so kind in letting us drop our bags early, ensuring we had everything we needed.

Perfectly Accommodating!!!

Wow wOw woW —the Old Turner Inn was perfect place to host our 3 families in 5 rooms during our stay on Catalina! We had infants, kids, grandparents and it had everything you coukd ask for! HIGHLY recommend staying here because of the PERFECT LOCATION: walking distance to downtown, Vons is literally across the street and you can see the ocean from some rooms! We fell in love with Avalon decades ago and know that you will, too! We love to "take a break" and in a little over an hour by boat (or 15 minutes by helicopter!) breathe a sigh of relief to be back on Catalina Island. The feeling is very much like being transported to a little gem of a European harbor but without the long plane ride!

Why they chose this property

Location is everything! Our property is in the heart of Avalon on one of the most historic streets first known as "Canvas Cottage City" in the late 1800s. Within 2 blocks, you can walk to the beach, Von's grocery store, miniature golf course, island tour buses, a dozen restaurants, golf cart rentals, fishing off of the Green Pleasure Pier, parasailing, and shopping. Walking distance to the beautiful gem of a museum and the famed landmark known as the "Casino" is only 15 minutes where you will experience one of the most gorgeous examples of architecture in the Art Deco period. Daily walk-up tours are available with movies being shown in the theater on weekends. Concerts and events in the upper ballroom happen year-round. Walk a little past the Casino to Descanso beach to enjoy outdoor dining, ziplining, or rent a cabana for the day. From our house you can head west and play a round of golf, a game of tennis or pickle ball at the Country Club, and catch the hiking trails at the Wrigley Memorial ti experience the island's unique and diverse wildlife and abundant nature. Or, you can do nothing at all but listen to the wind through the majestic, old eucalyptus trees across the street and read a book to rejuvenate your soul.

What makes this property unique

Very few properties in Avalon exist to accommodate a family group of 12 - we know, because we are a large family, too! Undergoing a complete restoration in 2023, The Old Turner Inn was made new in all the right ways: new surfaces, furnishings, appliances, modern a/c systems, furniture and decor where it matters while keeping the beautiful antique elements that have made it unique for nearly 100 years.
