About Scott Thielbar

This has been a great home for us and our family. The home has been the meeting place to enjoy weekends on the lake for our family and friends. The house is extremely nice and we enjoy every moment we can get in this area.

Scott Thielbar purchased this house in 2004

Why Scott Thielbar chose West Central

We now live in Chicago and it is the perfect feel of up north yet has all the amenities and activities you could want. Not to mention Lake Michigan access for pleasure boating.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy water skiing, tubing, and fishing on Mona Lake, and then head out to lake Michigan for harbor hopping! Or spend a day with the kids on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We have many great barbecues on the patios as well! On those rainy days you can enjoy the movie theater down the road, or an afternoon in front of the flat screen.

Summer Perfection

  • 5 of 5

We had great weather. From the patio, the view of Mona Lake was outstanding. The home was clean and comfortable. We had guests visit, one couple used the boat dock. The walk to the lake and deck was good exercise, a little steep but manageable for us old folks. The appliances were fairly new and easy to use. I would highly recommend this home to my friends.

Great summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our time on Mona Lake. Perfect for younger kids as not much boat action so tubing was fun for our 7 and 4 year old grandchildren. Kitchen was well equipped and a close drive to Grand Haven and Holland.

Beautiful lake home

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Florida to Muskegon for Christmas and spent a week in this lovely home. I shared the home with my sisters and had a blast! The owners let my brother put christmas lights on the house so it looked beautiful when we pulled up! The master bedroom and bathroom was very spacious and all the beds were comfortable. We would definitely rent this house again, especially in the summer. The dock was do nice and the lake would have been fun to go out on.

Wonderful lake house

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks here and it was just great. The kitchen was the best stocked of any other VRBO rental that we have used. The master bedroom was very spacious with windows and doors out into the yard that overlooks the lake. The weather was a little cool so we didn't get to enjoy the gas fire pit but we tested it and would have loved having friends over to sit around it in the evening. Even our little dog loved running around the yard and making friends with the little neighbor dog. The house was very clean, with new appliances in the kitchen. For once, I didn't come home with a suitcase full of dirty clothes thanks to the washer and dryer. This is our hometown so we thoroughly enjoyed being close to friends, family and all our favorite restaurants. Overlooking the lake that we swam in and skated on was a real treat. All in all it was a perfect visit.

Beautiful Property!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this cozy home on Mona Lake. The back yard is amazing...spacious lawn with beautiful, big trees and a great view of the lake! Lots of patio seating, a grill and a fire pit table were available for our use. We spent most of our time relaxing out back! The neighborhood is beautiful, with lots of people walking/jogging and children playing. The owners, Mitch and Kris, were very accommodating. I grew up in Muskegon and was back visiting family. We hope to stay here again on future visits!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Most rentals are clearly rentals; this comfy home is clearly your home away from home if not better! The owners are a dream to deal with. The "mid-century" neighborhood is lovely for walking and safe. Theirs enough room in the driveway for six cars + three at the home's designated parking at the street. 6 people can comfortably eat at the island in the kitchen (+4 more at the DR table). We packed lots of condiments, etc. and didn't need them - this kitchen has just about everything you'll need for your partying and we had two large groups in during our week at the house. The grill is fantastic for doing a BBQ for a large family. The deck/dock at the bottom of the property, on the Lake, would be fantastic for just sitting and escaping from the rest of the family. (we were all "seniors" so we didn't venture down!). Go to Jack's just at the edge of the Sub. right away - they have so much to offer when you need a few items (including meats!) instead of driving over to Meijers (ten minutes away) where you'll want to do your "bulk" shopping. We had a great time and would definitely come back. Thanks Kris for your hospitality.
