We provide all linens and towels. You may want to bring extra beach towels.

While 3 PALMS is classified as a first-tier gulf View home, the huge beach at Indian Pass begins 30 ft. from the driveway. Here you will find one of the largest and widest beaches anywhere in the Cape San Blas area.

Famous St. Vincent Island is in plain view from both the house and the beach.

Because of the unique topographic features of Indian Pass Beach there are many different spots to choose from. You can hang out right next to the water or you can protect yourself in the cooler months between the natural sand dunes. You literally can walk the beach for miles. Indian Pass is one of the more popular bird watching areas in the country. Not to mention the almost daily sightings of dolphins frolicking in the water.

Bring your boats, your wave runner, your kayak, a sailboat, or rent one. There is a boat launch less than 1 mile away from 3 PALMS at the Indian Pass campground.

Here you can also stock up on supplies for fishing or snacking. St. Vincent is less than a quarter of a mile away by ferry from the Indian Pass Campground. You can rent bikes here, take the ferry across the channel and explore one of the most beautiful nature preserves found anywhere . Of course you can walk all over the island and fish or swim in total seclusion. Cars are not permitted.

Speaking of FISHING, Indian Pass has some of the best fishing you'll find anywhere. Indian pass is bordered on the East by Indian Pass Lagoon, a shallow waterbed full of many varieties of fish and home to the famous Indian Pass oyster beds. The Gulf is on the west side, and I personally have caught eight different kinds of species of fish. At the tip of Indian Pass, by the campground, there is a waterway that comes from the confluence of the Apalachicola River and Bay that goes out to the Gulf. St. Vincent Island is on the other side of this passageway. This is an ideal fishing spot because of the travel patterns of the fish feeding and going out to the Gulf. This is particularly fantastic when the breezes are high out on the gulf.

So when you leave the drive way of 3 PALMS you can turn right and enter the beach to fish or you could take a left and walk 1/4 mile to the Indian Pass Lagoon and fish, or go to the campground, and fish the protected channel. Indian Pass offers an extremely unique and diversified fishing experience, well suited for the many varieties of fish, in any kind of weather condition. The screened in fish cleaning room located at ground level is perfect for preparing your freshly caught delicacy.

If and when you get tired of fishing in this wonderful little community you can always pick up a guide and go fishing in St. Joe Bay. Presnell’s Harbor is 10 minutes away and they can fix you up with a guide, the equipment, including license, and find some great action in the bay. They will clean your catch as well, 4 hours cost $100, or so. Want to go deep Sea fishing? See link for some of the greatest deep sea fishing ever. During the season (summer) grab a bucket and go pick scallops yourself. Check out Dead Lakes, check out the Apalachicola River, where 6 rivers come together and create the greatest oyster bed in the world. The Indian Pass compound is a very quiet family oriented, people friendly place. Where you can walk the tiny neighborhood and kids can even ride their bikes. It has a very special ambiance and solitude, amidst a very, very unique opportunity to be one with nature.

A must place to eat is the world famous Indian Pass Raw Oyster Bar. Located less than a mile from 3 PALMS at C-30 and Indian Pass Road. You can't miss it, is the old dilapidated rundown gas station. Don't be deceived however; they have some of the best and freshest oysters, shrimp, crap and jambalaya you'll ever taste. You can get food to go here as well. Got more friends or family coming? Have them camp at the campground or stay at the Turtle Beach Inn located on Indian Pass Road. A wonderful bed and breakfast right on the gulf.

St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. is just minutes away from 3 PALMS and has wonderful opportunities for fishing, surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and just plain relaxing at the #1 rated beach in the Continental U.S. for 2002 .

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hi Lydia & Peter;

Our stay at 3 Palms (July 3 -10) was nothing short of spectacular. Initially, we made plans to share the house with close family. As the date of our vacation grew closer, family members kept dropping out. We'd replace them with friends. Just days before leaving, the last of our family members dropped out. Luckily one long time friend whom I used to work with swore he, his wife and two daughters would be there, hell or high water, if at least for a few days.

The house worked out great for our party of 8, with rooms showers to spare. Most our dining was in the house, and made sure we stocked up at the Pig when possible. Unfortunately it seems each time we planned a meal at the Raw Bar, they were closed. Maybe next time.

We bought a new boat before making our trip, a decision that is not at all regrettable. The myriad of boating destinations to choose from are mind boggling. Our most memorable trip, we launched at the Saint Joe Bay Marina. From there we went out to the Western tip of Cape San Blas & had a picnic on the beach. We packed up from there and headed up the intracoastal canal. Making our Way East to Lake Wimico, we realized that would have been the perfect spot for Skiing or Tubing. Going on, we exited the Intracoastal Canal at East Bay and headed for West Pass (South side of Saint Vincent Island). The channels are tricky here, talk to some locals for sure before heading out. Our plan was to tie up at the Indian Pass boat launch and then retrieve the tow vehicle from the Saint Joe Marina.

The beach is unique. I highly recommend bringing an ATV to explore it to the fullest! Also a Kayak or two would be highly recommended, as many of the fishing grounds are fairly shallow and possibly more enjoyable at a slow pace. Several fishing charters were out and about, and we saw many species caught.

Our vacation started with a few days of rain, which allowed us to stock up on groceries and a few other things to prep the boat. Without those few days of rain, we'd have panicked to take advantage of each day, likely regretting the fact we'd not done enough shopping to stay put.

Of the four children, they've vowed to return next 4th of July Holliday, and each and every thereafter. The grown ups are inclined to agree!

Awesome

Great house, great location, best access to Beach in Cape San Blas for not being directly on beach, private beach overall, there were times we didn't see anyone in sight for as far as we could see in any direction! Loved screened in porches. Loved pool, loved it all! Best vacation in 20 years! We'll be back for sure.

Owner's Response: Derek, thanks for your time and effort in submitting a review. We are so happy ya’ll had such a nice time and appreciated all the benefits Three Palms Compound has to offer. We try to share with people how the home is a cross between a Gulf Front Home and Gulf View but with a pool. It is a more reasonably priced Vacation Home than you will find with a Gulf Front and Pool Home. Plus it has so many extras to enhance your vacation experience. You got to experience the full pleasure of having a palace that sleeps 14, for just your wife and your dog. Some folks think that The Compound is too big for 2-4 people, but is a real treat to have so much space and room to relax in and to have your private Concierge to assist with all your vacation needs. Why not live like Royalty for a week? It is all about the Beach down here and we are right on the beach! The Beach Path is just a few steps away from the driveway. Check out our website for photos and videos of the Beach Path and the Beach. And the Beach is HUGE and even in the high season you will find that it is nearly empty. Old Florida at its Best! After the Beach it is so great to hang by the pool and enjoy all the seating areas and activities with the cool breezes blowing in. Three Palms Compound has the best of both worlds, the Gulf of Mexico and your very own private poo. It is the perfect venue for small or large families to create memories that will last a lifetime.

We love Three Palms

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Three Palms recently with our two dogs and we had a wonderful vacation. We loved everything about this beautiful, extra clean, well maintained home with a nicely landscaped backyard and wonderful pool. We also loved the wrap around decks with great ocean breezes. They have shuffleboard and horseshoes as well, and very close proximity to the ocean with gorgeous beaches to walk for miles. This was truly a wonderful place and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation. Peter the owner was great to work with, he was so nice and even showed us Two Palms which is their other gorgeous rental home right on the ocean. Donna the concierge was also very helpful. I cant say enough good things and we are looking forward to next year and hope to stay even longer!

A delightful vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd year staying at 3 Palms for a family vacation of 11 people. The house is always immaculate upon arrival and has all the amenities anyone could want or need. The bedrooms are spacious and the floor plan is very open. We love the decks on each level with the views of the Gulf. The pool is great for the kids and we all enjoyed playing shuffleboard! The short walk to the beach is an extra plus and is great when carrying chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc. The beach is gorgeous and there were only 2 or 3 other families on the entire beach during our trip. My morning walks were so enjoyable as I met other people staying nearby and everyone was so friendly. I can't say enough nice things about Peter and Donna! They go the extra mile to insure that you are happy with the house and check in often to see if anything is needed. I highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone and we have come to think of it as our home away from home.

Excellent house in excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed our month long vacation at 3 Palms. Although it is a huge house capable of holding multiple families, it was perfectly cozy for the two of us and our two dogs. We just lived on the main floor and were totally comfortable. The beds were very nice, the kitchen was well stocked and a pleasure to use. We loved the open layout... we were able to cook, watch TV and the Gulf all at the same time! We loved the decks and screened in porch. Also, there is a gate at the stairs so we were able to let our dogs be out without worrying about them. They loved it! Tile floors made cleaning very easy for dog hair. The beach access is hard to beat! It is a very short easy and beautiful walk through the pine trees to the beach. The beach is great for dogs and many times we were the only ones walking it.

I enjoyed putting my kayak in at the boat ramp less than a mile down the road and kayaking around St. Vincent island. Once, I even kayaked from the lagoon side of the pass all the way around to the beach side near our house. Beautiful area, loved watching dolphins and especially the pelicans.

Peter and Donna were fantastic to work with. I wanted catch blue crabs and called to ask for some crab traps on the first day, within a few hours Donna brought us all the equipment we could ever use. We didn't call on Donna much, but she just lives a mile away and was easily accessible to us. I even had a package mailed to her house and was able to get it easily from her. I highly recommend this property and would stay there again if we go back to Indian Pass. Don't miss out on the Indian Pass Raw Bar!!!

Owner's Response: Jessica, Thank you for staying with us at Three Palms Compound! It was a pleasure to have you. We appreciate you leaving the house so clean and then taking the time and energy to write a review. Thank You for your kind remarks! While the Compound does sleep 14, it is NOT too big for 2 people. Some folks think that they don't need that big a place, and that it is TOO much of a house. However, as your comments illustrate, it can be quite a special experience to have so much room and space , with all the amenities that the home has.It is not like you have to clean the house, we do that for you! Don't be scared off by the size of Three Palms Compound, embrace it, wallow in it, treat yourself like royalty and pamper yourself. Especially in the OFF_SEASON, Nov.to March, the Compound is VERY competitively priced and affordable. Not many folks are looking for a Family Vacation for 14 folks for a week. Why settle for a tiny 2-BDR condo when you have a castle very close to the same price as your cramped condo or house. We take very good care of our quests and many folks come back year after year. We specialize in taking care of any of your needs or give you space and privacy. The Wide Sandy Beach Path is just steps away from the driveway and the Beach is huge and gorgeous. We can show you more photos and videos of the Path , just ask us! Don't let the SIZE of Three Palms Compound scare you! Come on down, this area is one of the most spectacular, secluded and beautiful retreats in the Country! Thanks- Peter B.-Owner

Great Place for a Family Reunion!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for lots of space for everyone in your family, this is the perfect place! With 5 bedrooms, there's a room for each branch of your family tree. We loved all of the different areas where we could sit and share stories from the past (the screened porch, the patio, the kitchen area) while making new memories (at the pool). The owners, Peter and Linda, and the property manager Donna were great to work with before, during and even after our stay as they checked to make sure we had everything we needed and that everybody had a good time.

Great October Trip!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had at Three Palms Compound in October 2016! The house was perfect for our large crowd. The ladies, and my dog Lola, enjoyed the beach while the guys went out fishing each day. Since there's no docks to leave the boat there was plenty of parking for the boat and all of our vehicles. My favorite thing about this house is that it's pet friendly! Most rentals of a house this large is usually not pet friendly. You could not tell that a dog has ever been in this house. It was very clean and everything we needed was right at our finger tips. We will definitely be back!

Three Palms is located in the 'Forgotten Coast' area of the Florida Panhandle, between Panama City and Apalachicola / Tallahassee. It is in Gulf County, and unlike Destin, Pensacola and Panama City there are no huge condo's on the beach. In fact building regulations, both commercial and residential, prohibit any kind of buildings taller than 3 stories. This area is a truly pristine, remote and unspoiled paradise. The beach at the Cape San Blas State Park was rated the #1 Beach (Dr. Beach) in all of the USA in 2004.

The St. Joe Bay lays on the East side of Cape San Blas Peninsula and provides for fantastic fishing, snorkeling and Scallop picking.

There is a bike path from the State Park to County Highway C-30-A . You can rent bikes and kayaks to enjoy these activities. Ride horses on the beach. Hire a fishing charter. Play golf. Catch blue crabs. Collect shells. Enjoy the tremendous wildlife species. Dolphins, Sea Turtles, Eagles and may other species.

Fresh Shrimp, Oysters, Crab, Grouper are abundant. Take an Eco-Tour of St. Joe Bay or the Apalachicola River Estuary.

Visit St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge and rent a bike or go fish the many lakes and beach fishing available. Have a bonfire on the beach. Get a permit to ride on the beach.

Enjoy the pool at Three Palms, the quiet neighborhood, the huge amount of living space in the compound and the Indian Pass Boat Ramp less than 1 mile away.

Or.....just lay by the pool,on the beach or deck furniture, and relax!!!!!

This OLD FLORIDA at its Best!
