About the property

3 queen beds, 2 1/2 baths, spectacular river view, gas fireplace & home theatre

Our 2-story home is situated at the mouth of the Columbia River, with historic Astoria to the east and Ft Stevens State Park just to the west. This is our family's frequent escape, well suited to maximize comfort, relaxation, and rejuvenation while having easy access to the scenic beauties of the North Coast, truly Pacific Wonderland!

The cathedral ceiling living room has full views of the Columbia River estuary which spans four miles across to Washington's Long Beach Peninsula. The Columbia River's narrow shipping channel is situated immediately in front of the house offering an ongoing parade of maritime traffic; enjoyable from the front yard Adirondack chairs, or from the cozy comfort of our living room sofa.

A 2-story living room opens up to kitchen and dining areas with panoramic views of the Columbia River. A 65-inch LED SmartTV sits above a gas fireplace and flanks the large living room window. Entertainment options include Home Theater with HD satellite TV including premium channels, Wi-Fi internet , Sony Blu-ray DVD with Netflix, and AirPlay to wirelessly stream your music.

A well stocked kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and cooking implements, makes staying in and cooking a pleasure. A powder room is conveniently situated off the main living room area.

Upstairs are three tastefully decorated bedrooms each with a comfortable queen bed and TV. Master bedroom en suite has a walk in closet, comfortable lounge chair and commanding views. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a queen fold out bed in the living rooms sectional sofa.

The home is stocked with some of our favorite books, cookbooks, and movies; feel free to enjoy while relaxing, or planning day trips up and down the coast.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The family and I really enjoyed staying at your place in Hammond. We found things to be well kept, in good condition, and in proper order. I really enjoyed the location as it is only three miles from Warrenton Marina and very near where we like to fish. Fishing was excellent, again this year. We hope to reserve for a longer stay for next year. Thanks for running a first class operation.

Wonderful weekend away

Beautifully kept home, clean and bright. Pictures and description are accurate. Great view - we loved watching the boats go by. Quiet neighborhood but close enough to everything.

Beautiful home, well stocked with kitchen supplies and a brilliant view of the river

We were so pleased with our stay and will likely return in the near future. The home was clean, spacious and close to Astoria. We loved the special touches like the cozy robes in every bedroom and extra pillows. Thank you for opening your home to us!

I missed the wonderful shell ornaments from last year.

The house is not clean.

It has become tatty.

Owner's Response: It was our pleasure to welcome you back for another holiday getaway. Surprised, and saddened that your experience this year was so disappointing. We were concerned that we may have had a cleaning “mishap” and attempted to reach out to you for clarification, regrettably to no avail. We were able to contact our guests prior to and just after your stay, and were relieved to hear very positive and satisfied feedback. Notwithstanding, we appreciate your feedback and value this opportunity to consider our guests’ experience with fresh eyes. We continue to be committed to offering the highest standard for cleanliness, safety and comfort on the Oregon Coast. All the best, Ron and Shannon

Comfortable house with an awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our group of college friends who have known each other since 1955 to relax, visit and enjoy the view! The house was nicely decorated and with many amenities. We had a wonderful time!

Nice home.

  • 4 of 5

The home was comfortable, well stocked, nicely designed and decorated. My only complaint is that the pictures give the allusion the house and the fire pit area are right on the water when in fact the river is across a small dirt road and a strange chain linked fenced area. Not sure what it is protecting as it is fenced on only 3 sides, but it is unattractive.

Owner's Response: So happy to hear you enjoyed a comfortable stay. Our updated photos offer more perspective to better appreciate the distance of our house/front yard and the glorious Columbia River. We do not own the vacant (partially fenced) lot between our house and the river, but happy to find it offers a safe and welcoming refuge for our local deer and elk.
