Great location. Close to Johnson shut ins, floats and great scenery. Fit the 7 of us perfect in such a cute, clean home.

The house is very cute. Check-in was very easy. All downhill from there. The house was infested with lady bugs. There were thousands of live and dead bugs everywhere. On the couch, on the beds, dishes in the cabinets, literally everywhere. Messaged host and she said its mother nature and to leave if we want. This is in middle of woods, not a lot of options to up and leave. We spent first hour cleaning bugs. I messaged that this was not just a few bugs, that this was an infestation and that there was no reason to have dead bugs everywhere- that it should have been cleaned prior to us coming. Host messaged we could use vacuum to clean. Next morning, I messaged several times again about issue and that also the bathroom door literally fell off. Host never replied. We went to leave for our activities and realized we left a water bottle, tried to go back inside and we were locked out! Messaged host- no response. Spent an hour on the phone with VRBO, they tried to contact her multiple times. We sent them videos and pictures of bugs and trying to get in house. We could not get a response from host. Luckily we left a window open (to air out the house, because this is not a non-smoking house!) and my daughter climbed through a window so we could get our stuff. We left the property. Host messaged a bit later that she was at house. and agreed to refund money for our stay, but also added that house was clean when we checked in, despite pics I sent with dead bugs everywhere!

Adorable house

The house was perfect for what we needed. Close to the river yet also gave us our privacy. Great patio and fire pit area. I would definitely stay there again.

Awesome stay

The house was great. It was very clean. It had great AC upstairs and downstairs. The WiFi was also nice to have. The outfitters were able to pick us up at our house and drops us back off…soooo convenient. We will stay again.

Found broken glass on property and was un sure what to do with trash with only having 2 smaller cans out back to put the trash. Not the owners fault but opening the fridge is too low and cut my toe when opening. Beside that the stay and rooms was enough for all of us to stay comfortable.

First family vacay

We loved our experience at the Betty house! This was our first official family vacation and we were able to check off some bucket lists items by visiting elephant rocks and Johnson’s shut ins. We were also able to fit in a float trip! We hope to be back the same time again next year.

Fabulous retreat

We cane for the total eclipse and couldn’t have picked a better place. The community is friendly, the parks are fun and the house was the oerfect balance of old and new. The beds are comfortable and the firepit makes for great storytelling and s’mores. Highly recommend.

Nice clean house , excellent location

Very nice older home located outside of town minutes from everything we came to do . The property was excellent. My only complaint was the listing had "hottub" as an amenity and there was none . And i rented a 2 bathroom home because I have 2 teenage daughters and one was out of order

Plenty of space, great location.

We rented the space so that we could float nearby during the day and have a place to stay overnight that included AC+Showers for folks who were not into the idea of tent camping. The house itself is very spacious and outside there were many different areas to gather and chill . It’s also nice having a full kitchen to cook and hangout in. Overall, you can tell a lot of work was put into making this the perfect getaway. One thing to note- the description says it fits 8 but sleeps 6. We were a bit confused by that, but it turns out there is ann additional bunkbed upstairs. I’m unsure if they’re meant for children or adults, none of us tried to use them.

The Backyard was our FAV

We loved a lot of things about this house. The backyard is beautiful. We enjoyed the firepit and gazebo every night. We loved that the house is nice and spacious. There is enough room for everyone with 8 beds. Kids enjoyed the bunkbeds. The kitchen is nice and spacious and has a big countertop for cooking your own meals which we did all the days we were there. The location is Fantastic to Elephant Rocks State Park, Johnson Shut Ins and Taum Mountain State Park! The downfalls were the Asian Beetles that were basically attacking the inside of the house (I am aware this is a time of year thing), but we did not enjoy them. May want to add a few other utensils to the kitchen such as measuring cups, a peeler, and even a few more spatulas. We did smell a sewage smell in the bathrooms but the owner said she was going to look into it and did offer to refund our money due to the smell. I was disappointed that the tub didn't work as we did look for that with small children who aren't fans of showers.
