Clean condo near the beach
We stayed at this Bethany Beach property for a few days in July 2018. The condo was very clean! It is East of the major road (coastal highway , rt1), which made walking to the beach with kids less stressful. There are 2 parking spaces. There have been no updates inside, but everything is functional.
The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs around the pool also.
It did not smell inside at all (this came up in a different review).
Overall, clean and close to the beach!
Location is Great - Close to Beach and Boardwalk! Clean Unit but Musty Smell
Overall, this property meet our basic expectations since the unit work for a family of four and was very close to the beach (probably an 1/8th of a mile). It also had parking and a pool which my boys very much enjoyed.
The primary issue with this unit is that it had an awful musty smell. It would almost go away if you opened all the sliding doors over a 12 hour period but it would return once it was closed.
I would not stay at this unit again because I don't like musty smells. However, if this may not deter you. Otherwise, it is a unit very close to the beach and boardwalk (10 minute walk or or less) that does its basic job. Finally, it is very clean unit and those other posts should be ignored.
Good location and size for family
The property is only a block to the beach and close to town. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Could use a little updating though.
Great location and size for our family of 4
We had a nice stay in this rental and found it to be as described on VRBO. The unit is within walking and biking distance of the beach, downtown Bethany and some restaurants. The unit was in good condition. We had a problem with the TV in the upstairs bedroom so it was unusable (we reported this to Wilgus property management, who was going to address it). Other than that everything was fine. Our two children each had a twin sized bed. We would rent this unit again!
Small, dirty, poor customer service
The only pro about this place is that it is close to the beach. The house is too small for 6 people as advertised. There were ants in the kitchen and the floors were old and dirty looking. The carpet was still sandy and the coffee maker still had coffee in it from the previous residents! We called Wilgus management because the bathroom light was out and the garbage disposal was not functioning. Melissa, the customer care agent was rude and unapologetic. I should add however that all of my previous encounters with Wilgus management have been pleasant. No one came to fix these things until noon the next day. Don't stay here!
Dirty, small and poor customer service...stay away!
The only pro about this house is that it is close to the beach.
The floors were dirty, the carpet had sand, there were ants all over the kitchen counter, the coffee machine still had an old filter and coffee in it from the previous resident, the garbage disposal was not working. The bathroom light was out and when we called customer service the evening we checked in, 'Melissa' was extremely rude and informed us no one could fix it that day and she will put a 'work order in' for tomorrow but couldn't tell us when it might be fixed. So we had to use the bathroom in the pitch dark. No one came to fix it the next morning, we called again and did not get a return call for an hour.
Also the house is advertised for 6 people but we were 5 and it felt over crowded. There were not even enough pillows for 6.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. In reviewing the situation I did find that a work order was done to replace the light bulb (an item that is readily available in the property). As for the other maintenance items, the only documented call I can find came in on Sunday and was completed at 10:15AM, by ME, Crystal! You noted that you had ants and that the garbage disposal was humming. Maintenance informed me that all of these items had already been addressed. I apologize if there was a miscommunication with one of our staff - but we strive for excellence and want all of our visitors to have a pleasant stay! As for the cleaning, we apologize if the cleaning service was missed. We have staff until 8PM to address any of these issues.
