Nice place close to the beach

This is the second time we have stayed at here. I like it best because you can park and walk to down town or the beach. We also liked the new kitchen countertops!

Some of the things none of us like compared to other sea pines condo we rented last year was furniture in living room was not very comfortable, especially the sofa, very uncomfortable. One bedroom upstairs had two twin beds as oppose to condo around corner, had two double beds in that same room which was very nice. Usage of pool was a plus. The place around the corner was much more comfortable but this place was so much closer to beach. We will definitely consider this place next year but would be better for owners to get a new sofa and change twin beds to double. I an sure this would increase your rentals hands down. Thank you, Ellen Masterson

Old, but comfortable

The home is old and needs updating. Hard to tell if it is dirty or just worn, but it was comfortable and convenient to the beach. We did not use the pool

The location is good with a short walk to the beach. Wilgus was very good to work with. I would not recommend staying here unless you ensure that they have gotten rid of the smell. It was disgusting. The smell was horrible. Everything in the place is old and outdated. It is filthy. The kitchen was just gross. All the cushions look like someone was sick on them. The comforters on the beds have to be at least 25 years old and don't appear to have ever been washed. The mattresses are saggy and incredibly uncomfortable. We saw silverfish in the bathroom and bedrooms. The lock on the back slider barely works and the door handle is on backwards so it's really difficult to get in from outside. There was food left in the freezer. We could barely stand to be in this place. I will say that everyone I dealt with at Wilgus was always very nice and helpful.

Great location

We usually stay right on the beach and because of COVID our plans changed. We stayed at this location and it's a 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and the price was right. Nice little community, close to the boardwalk. Description said outdoor shower and showed a picture of a picnic table for outdoor eating. There was neither. The place could have been cleaned better, sand in the dryer and a musty smell. Furniture and carpet are in need of a cleaning or replacement. With that said, we would stay again because of the location and price.

Good place to stay! Property management needs improvement

Overall impression of the property - location wise, everything inside, the proximity to the ocean, etc. - are great!!! No complaints here. The quality of the customer service at Wilgus requires serious improvement. Good luck getting anybody on the phone (office number or cell of staff) if you need help urgently. No calls would be returned even if you waited for a couple days. Though they will reach you if THEY need you. I would also recommend them to get training on email writing as I ended up repeating my questions prior to getting full and informative responses. Sometimes no response would be received at all unless you insisted. The cleanness of the property was okay, but definitely not professional. I ended up cleaning the fridge, removing spider webs in corners in the living room, and found many forgotten items in the drawers all over the place. Have reported it to the management with no response - again:-) I did not find the pool on the property even though it was mentioned in the description. As I have put it in the title, the property itself was great, the management of it and the quality of the customer support needs to improve in my opinion.

As advertised, and very close to the beach

Overall, we were happy with the property. It was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and it was a nice size for a family of four. The proximity to the beach (about a block away) was very key, as we were not required to drive and could just walk our things there. It was also nice having an extra half bathroom. One thing that I have never seen or heard of before, and I've rented many places from from different services over the years, is that we would either have to pay for sheets and towels, or bring our own. In my experience, sheets and towels are usually included. It was just an extra bit of hassle to have to bring these things. Lastly, and it wasn't advertised as included, but there is no device on the property that can stream access any of the popular streaming services.. The DVD player actually does have some of these apps, but the DVD player only has a wired connection to the internet (it's not wi-fi compatible), and is not wired up. So if you want to stream while you are there, bring your own device. The good news is the WiFi is fast enough to stream on one device without glitching.

Clean condo near the beach

We stayed at this Bethany Beach property for a few days in July 2018. The condo was very clean! It is East of the major road (coastal highway , rt1), which made walking to the beach with kids less stressful. There are 2 parking spaces. There have been no updates inside, but everything is functional. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs around the pool also. It did not smell inside at all (this came up in a different review). Overall, clean and close to the beach!

Location is Great - Close to Beach and Boardwalk! Clean Unit but Musty Smell

Overall, this property meet our basic expectations since the unit work for a family of four and was very close to the beach (probably an 1/8th of a mile). It also had parking and a pool which my boys very much enjoyed. The primary issue with this unit is that it had an awful musty smell. It would almost go away if you opened all the sliding doors over a 12 hour period but it would return once it was closed. I would not stay at this unit again because I don't like musty smells. However, if this may not deter you. Otherwise, it is a unit very close to the beach and boardwalk (10 minute walk or or less) that does its basic job. Finally, it is very clean unit and those other posts should be ignored.

Great location and size for our family of 4

We had a nice stay in this rental and found it to be as described on VRBO. The unit is within walking and biking distance of the beach, downtown Bethany and some restaurants. The unit was in good condition. We had a problem with the TV in the upstairs bedroom so it was unusable (we reported this to Wilgus property management, who was going to address it). Other than that everything was fine. Our two children each had a twin sized bed. We would rent this unit again!

Small, dirty, poor customer service

The only pro about this place is that it is close to the beach. The house is too small for 6 people as advertised. There were ants in the kitchen and the floors were old and dirty looking. The carpet was still sandy and the coffee maker still had coffee in it from the previous residents! We called Wilgus management because the bathroom light was out and the garbage disposal was not functioning. Melissa, the customer care agent was rude and unapologetic. I should add however that all of my previous encounters with Wilgus management have been pleasant. No one came to fix these things until noon the next day. Don't stay here!
