Guestbook comments from the manager

Loved our stay in this old cabin - well equipped and the hot tub was fantastic! We could have used fire starters, but the wood was there - fireplace kept us warm for sure during a cold snap. Fairly centrally located to the NC mountains and all the adventures awaiting.Recommended for: Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Romantic Getaway.

Private yet not secluded...quaint and enjoyable.

  • 4 of 5

The inside of the cabin is intimate and functional. You can get a sense of what it’s was like to live in a cabin back in the day. There is a heater as well as a fireplace both of which worked well. The living room was nicely decorated and we spent a good deal of time in silence just enjoying the fire or reading. The kitchen is only enough room for one person at a time but it serves the purpose. The key to this property is in wanting a place to hold up and stay inside. There is really no view to speak of considering the foliage grows right up to the cabin and surrounding it. I suspect this is kept this way to obscure the view of the other cabins around. This is a nice getaway for two. For the cost of the place I would like to see garbage, linens cleaning, and toilet paper included. I prefer not to be nickel and dimed for things that should be included in the price. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Owner's Response: Hi, We appreciate your stay and review on Laurel Mtn. Cabin. This is the perfect place for a couple or small family to relax and get away from it all. Linens and laundering are provided with every reservation. We are so rural that we do not have public trash pick up and we do allow up to two kitchen size bags at no charge. We really do try to be reasonable, not charge crazy fees and start all guests with toilet paper and paper towels at the cabin. Our guests can always save money on their reservations by booking directly through 4 Seasons Vacations. We hope you will visit and relax with us again. Thanks, 4Seasons Vacations

Great Cabin!

  • 4 of 5

Overall awesome stay. One improvement to the process I would make is to reduce the checkout workload. The necessity to remove trash or pay for it is a bit much, as is doing laundry. These tasks at any other rental or hotel would be included. IF it is a must, please provide garbage bags that are decent quality. I went to remove my bags from the exterior can to put in my rental car and it nearly shredded to the point I would have ruined the rental car. Otherwise, this is a perfect little spot.

Owner's Response: Hi, We appreciate your stay and review at Laurel Mtn. Cabin! This cabin is a great treasure tucked in the trees and bushes with a covered hot tub, WIFI, wood burning fireplace, and comforts of home. Linens and laundering are covered by housekeeping and included with your reservation. In addition, we are so rural, we do not have trash pick up, so we offer guests to remove or pay minimal cost for the removal of trash. The trash bags are provided by the individual owners at their choice. I will recommend higher quality for a better convenience. We hope you will visit again! Thanks, 4 Seasons Vacations

Great cabin for a romantic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent our 2nd year anniversary at this cabin. It was the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Everything we needed was there, and it was a great location. Boone is about 20 minutes away. Nice touch to have the hot tub. Would stay again and recommend to anyone looking into renting it! We only went for a weekend and wish we could/would have stayed longer!

Owner's Response: Hi, We appreciate your review and your stay at Laurel Mtn. Cabin! This cabin takes you back to a slower time and allows for plenty of rest and relaxation and is perfect for a couple or small family. Tucked in the woods and Laurel Mountain Bushes and the hot tub under the gazebo, Satellite TV, WIFI, guests have plenty to enjoy at the cabin. Also the location is ideal, right in between West Jefferson and Boone for shopping, dining and sight seeing for anyone who wants to venture out. We hope you will be able to stay longer and see you again soon. Thanks, 4 Seasons Vacations

Fabulous Fleetwood Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We are familiar with the Fleetwood area and this cabin was absolutely fantastic! As soon as you walk in you smell the fires that have been stoked for 100 years. The cabin is quaint, authentic, and cozy! It was IMPECCABLY clean and stocked with linens, dishes, and even extra blankets. One of our guests is allergic to dogs, and this cabin is pet friendly - however it was SO clean that she had no issues with her allergies whatsoever. The outdoor grill worked great, the hot tub was amazing, and the morning coffee on the front porch shaded by the trees was un-beatable! Our *only* issue was that the hose by the hot tub was not working, which would have been nice to rinse off before/after the tub, and the note about 'river access' - it is actually just a short drive or 8 minute walk to the river, but the river isn't in the back yard or anything. The correspondence with the owner/agent was always prompt and quick to answer my many questions :) Thank you for an unforgettable stay! We already can't wait to come back!

Owner's Response: Hi Britt, We appreciate your review and comments for Laurel Mtn. Cabin! We strive for our cabins to be cleaned to a high standard and looks like this cabin hit the mark for you! We are happy to get the hose replaced or fixed so thanks for letting us know about that issue. The cabin is advertised as being in a community with river access so if the river was right outside the cabin it would be river front access from the cabin. It is a walkable distance or drive the .3 mile to park and enjoy The New River in Fleetwood, NC. Thanks~4 Seasons Vacations -Kristina

Owner's Response: Hi, Congratulations on your anniversary! We appreciate your review of Laurel Mtn. Cabin. This is a very special place for couples to come and relax, especially in the covered hot tub, under the gazebo. The area is very wooded and leaves, acorns, pine cones, etc. can fall a lot during the Fall season. We hope you will come and visit again! Thanks, Kristina

Wonderful cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for our 21st anniversary and the cabin was lovely. The bed was soft and slept great. We went in July so it was warm, would have been better if there was an air conditioner down stairs as well as upstairs. But the tree coverage kept out direct sun and it stayed cool enough. It is right on the road but with the trees all around it feels secluded. You can still hear the cars though. The porch is great and very relaxing. The hot tub was really a plus. We intended this to be a fishing vacation but unfortunately the lake(pond) and river were both too far for walking to. The river access had parking but the water was only ankle deep so not good for fishing. The fishing at the pond was ok but we didn't catch but one all day. May have been due to the people who's dogs were fetching balls in the water close to us. It is not exclusive to this rental. The hiking trails were grown up, not sure who maintains them and no place to park while you go on the trail. I would recommend this cabin for those wanting to relax but not so much for those wanting to do outdoor things.

Owner's Response: Hi, We appreciate your review on our romantic cabin, Laurel Mtn. Cabin. This cabin is perfect for a couple who wants to get away and relax. There is water nearby but not right at the cabin. The river is shallow but does carry a multiple array of fish species and is known for it's fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing. We hope you will come stay with us again! Thanks, Kristina
