Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin and even though it was a vacation it felt like home away from home. Lovely property and it was peaceful, relaxing and secluded. Even though I did not have a dog to bring it was nice to see how dog friendly the space was. Brad was very helpful with answering all my questions prior to coming out and there was a welcome book to answer all my others. I would go again but definitely plan for longer!

Very private, beautiful place to enjoy nature!

  • 5 of 5

This cozy little cabin was just perfect for my husband and I and our dog. What a beautiful piece of property!

We spent our days hiking and playing fetch with the dog in the giant pasture beside the barn. There is so much to enjoy if you are an outdoors lover. Walking trails, bubbling streams, lots of wildlife, Pisgah national forest nearby. The hot tub was a great bonus, as were the wood burning stove and the enclosed front yard for the dog. Oh, and the barn loft is a great place to sit and watch any wildlife that may wander by.

There is wifi if you need it, but no cell phone service that far out. I don't know why you'd care about either though, when there is so much to enjoy outdoors. All in all, this is a great place for nature lovers, couples, or anyone who wants to truly "get away". We will be back for sure!

2nd Time Staying!!

  • 5 of 5

These last 9 days have been awesome, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing! I love the sounds of nature. Only on the weekend did we hear a four wheeler or two go up the property near us. The chipmunks and birds drove one of our dogs nuts! She thinks she's a hunting dog but far from it. I brought my on pans to cook eggs and bacon in and some plastic storage bowls but other than that everything else is here. You need your paper products, laundry detergent, dish detergent, their is no dishwasher but yourself. That was even nice too. I cooked all three meals each day. I only do this on vacation, after working at home I'm ready to go out and eat and go to bed. Perfect weather this time of year 70's/50's. A few windows will open or have screens. One box fan. I would bring at least two more for the hotter months. I love the screen door on the front and wish they had one for the back door. Love the cool clean mountain air. I did bring a blow up queen mattress to put behind the futon in the living room. The dogs have to sleep with me. The bed at the house is plush and very comfortable and my husband slept well by himself! I love this area lots to see and do. The hot tub just received a new cover while we were here. Nice having the Internet, our Verizon cell phones didn't work at the house but did in downtown of Burnsville. The creeks and rivers are beautiful and plentious are this are. Grilling and relaxing is our kind of vacation. If you are looking for excitement like crowds and noise don't stay here. This is a place to rest away from it all! The simpler things in life are to be treasured. We will hopefully return in the winter of 2017. Thanks Brad & Erin!

Secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin for a week and a half and absolutely loved it! The owners are very easy to get in touch with if needed and they litherly supply all that you need. Our fur babies loved it here also. We loved having so much outdoors in our backyard. Since we love hiking this place was perfect for us. Also we love the fact that it is so secluded. It was just us the dogs and the wilderness all in the comfort of feeling at home.

Beautiful restored old house!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this old house with the perfect peaceful and quiet setting at the end of the road. Heavy rains made beautiful sounds on the metal roof and the stream by the cabin and at the bottom of the property played the kind of music that only nature provides. Tucked away in its own little cove it took us to a time we only were told about by our great grandparents. Plenty of deer and birds and chipmunks to entertain us from the sunroom. The wood stove was wonderful on those cool nights and the oil heater helped keep us warm too. Nice kitchen even without a dishwasher. We cooked ever meal the whole week. Washer and dryer were very nice to have. Everything was clean and very nice and Brad was very helpful as we communicated by email. Nice fenced in front yard for our dogs with a nice hot tub on the front deck. We were not able to do much hiking because of several days of very heavy rain but the rain was even wonderful and we got lots of rest. My only two complaints is the futon couch in the living room is very uncomfortable and the other is we didn't stay long enough, so I booked another week for this May!!! Looking forward to our next visit! This house is very close to Tennessee so we drove the area and enjoyed the sights. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We love it!

little bit of heaven on earth

  • 5 of 5

Just got back this week from staying 4 days at this cabin. What an amazing place. My husband and I fell in love the minute we started up the drive way. An older cabin made modern on the inside but the old charm was kept. Beautiful, secluded hideaway. The inside was so welcoming, you feel so at home and at peace here. Watched deer right outside the kitchen window eating apples. Also saw more going across the bottom at the barn. I sat hours watching the birds at the feeder and just embracing the beauty around us. The owners have done an absolute wonderful job on the cabin. All the pottery inside and the animal art outside in different areas of the property, just loved it. Thank you so much Brad and Erin for sharing your wonderful home with us. We will be back hopefully in spring.
