About Fiumi Family
Le Argille, is located in Strada in Chianti, a 20-minute ride from Florence. Perched on a hilltop, this former Buddhist and yoga retreat in the heart of Tuscany, was fully renovated in 2011 by the Fiumi family, with Architect Giovanni Cini. The mission was to preserve the old characteristics of this casa colonica (country house) while modernizing certain aspects to adapt to a modern lifestyle.

A beautiful stay in Tuscany
Le Argille exceeded our expectations! The house is clean and bright with the gorgeous pool it’s crown jewel. It is a spacious, fully stocked home with many areas for dining and relaxation. Tereza, the housekeeper, cooked two beautiful meals for us. A catered pizza night is not to be missed! The air conditioning worked perfectly during the hot days we were there. Le Argille is well situated with easy access to Florence and nearby hill towns. Thank you Tereza and Eleonora!
Fantastic Eleonora and Tereza were extremely helpful. Beautiful property, well kept, clean.
From the first email sent to Eleonora which was answered quickly through the many patiently answered subsequent emails, this was an outstanding experiencing. the villa itself was exceptionally clean, the grounds beautiful. The "loft" was actually a large studio apartment with a wall of windows overlooking the pool. The guest house .was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. .the villa has been decorated with beautiful pieces from local artisans. From the placement of the windows to gather light and to provide beautiful views to the colors used in decorating, this villa provides a peaceful oasis while exploring this area of Italy.. Yet, it is also designed to provide many areas for active members of the family. The soccer field, swimming pool, tree house, groves of olive trees, outside eating areas were enjoyed by the members of our family. One of the many highlights was the night Tereza made pizzas with the grandchildren. We all loved it. Tereza's tiramisu is the absolute best I have ever tasted. Not to mention her apple strudel, lasagna, chocolate cake. Best of all, she is always so willing to be helpful without being intrusive, it makes the stay at the villa fantastic. Her husband " Bello' keeps the grounds to perfection. He quietly did the grounds but never interfered with our days. To rent a property that is 4000 miles away sight unseen can be .somewhat chancy. No need to worry, this property and the people that maintain it are exceptional. If I could rate it above 5 stars, I would do so.
Beautiful property, great people!
Our group of 11 adults greatly enjoyed our stay at Le Argille. It is a terrific property conveniently located near a nice little town where you can get everything you need for your stay. Close enough for day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca and the towns of Chianti. The Villa was clean and well appointed with all bedrooms having separate baths and air conditioning that worked well. The outdoor area, including the infinity pool, was a great place to unwind after a day of touring while enjoying beautiful views. Teresa, is not only the property caretaker, but also a warm person and a great cook. We greatly enjoyed the dinners she prepared for us as well as several surprises like apple turnovers for breakfast. Eleonora served as our personal concierge and she was terrific. Just tell her what you want and she will make it happen. She arranged wine tours, a wonderful cooking class and took care of restaurant reservations. Eleonora is also a licensed tour guide and she led us on great tour in Florence. While there are many of villas available in Tuscany, the great service provided by Eleonora and Teresa are really what made this a truly exceptional experience.
Perfection in Tuscany close to Florence
We had a wonderful time with our extended family (from 6 to 67) of 10 in July 2017 at Le Argille. The homes themselves were extremely clean, comfortably furnished, charming, and had all the conveniences we desired. Some of the best features of the house are the infinity pool, two living rooms in the main house, lots of bathrooms, an elevator (perfect for my aunt who has a bad ankle), a tree house with a rope bridge and a complete outdoor kitchen and dining area.
Teresa is the on-property caretaker and she is the most wonderful cook. On our first morning she brought us warm, fresh-baked pastries - it was such a wonderful surprise. We asked Teresa to make two dinners for our family which she made and served outside. Our family was unanimous in declaring these two dinners the best of our whole trip.
The location of the house was excellent - just up the hill from the little town of Strada and a short drive to Florence. We made day trips to Florence, Sienna, Greve (15 minutes away), and San Gimenano. We also had lovely days just lounging at the villa.
If I were to find fault in anything - it's not really a fault, just different than the photos -- but the grounds are not irrigated so the grass was brown the time of year we were there.
We loved our time at Le Argille and hope to be back soon!
Absolutely Perfect - Great Place to call Home!
My husband and I rented the villa L'Agrile for two weeks to celebrate his birthday with family and friends. We can't give enough praise to Eleonora the property manager or Tereza the discreet but hard working caretaker. Eleonora is a wealth of information about the Chianti area and arranged several activities: wineries, visits to the local pasta and pottery businesses, and a cooking class at Villa il Leccio. Tereza, who always has a smile on her face will shop, cook, serve and clean ups with the greatest of ease. She was always dishing up surprises like waking up one morning to her fresh apple strudel or dining on brick oven pizza and a salad with fresh figs from the garden. The villa is tastefully appointed with a blend of refurbished Italian antiques and contemporary furniture. The gourmet kitchen was dreamy for a group of foodies to create meals served by candlelight in dining room leading to hours of laughter and great times. The villa grounds were private, well maintained with an amazing negative edge pool over looking the beautiful countryside where we gathered every afternoon for a swim and cocktails while watching the cloud formations and sunset under a deep Tuscan blue sky. All I can say is everyone should enjoy a villa like this at least once in their lifetime!
We are delighted to hear that our team is doing a good Job. We really want to thank you to have choosed our villa.
Hoping to have you with us soon again, we send you our best wishes.

Perfect Place for Multi-Generational Vacation
Our group from Memphis, TN, and NYC included ages 5 to 65, and this beautiful property had something for everyone. Our 5-year-old was fascinated by the chickens and enjoyed farm fresh eggs for breakfast. The entire group loved swimming in the infinity pool and relaxing in the hot tub. The outdoor kitchen and cabana were perfect for our pizza night --- I highly recommend Gabriel for pizza! The setting is beautiful; Eleanora is wonderful; Tereza and Bello keep everything perfect and we loved Tereza's cooking. We hope to return soon!
I really want to Thank you for your review. Hoping you came back to stay again with us, Sincerely Eleonora
