I just wanted to write and say what a fabulous time we had while at your Masterpiece. It really had everything we needed and more. Perfect base for exploring the town and the park and had some great trails and climbing right our our back door! Truly a beautiful property. Many happy memories were formed there.

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

The home is lovely and SO spacious! We spent many hours on the deck that weaves around most of the house with spectacular mountain views.....sunshine, mist, light rain and the Milky Way! We could group together to talk and laugh or move to other private cozy outside areas off of different rooms. The 6 children (4 to 9 years) had great fun on the rocks and finding little lizards. The pajama party in the kids room was fabulous! Air hockey is a family favorite and the kids were amused for hours.

The photos give you a good idea of the home, but you will find all features to be better - all of us were thrilled to have rented this place. The dining area was wonderful for meals, coloring, and late night games. The nighthawks retired to the poker table... The various rooms allowed us to all be together or group by conversation areas, counter seating while others cooked, recliners to relax(?) while the Broncos played, or sneak off and practice pool before calling for a game!

There is also a hiking trail nearby which suited our joggers and provided a nice evening walk for the kiddos and parents. Returning to the gas grill for Cheeseburgers and toasted buns. You will be happy if you rent this Masterpiece in the Rockies.

Nice House - parking issues

  • 3 of 5

The house overall is very nice for larger parties. The description of 4 masters with individual bathrooms is misleading as the bathrooms are not all attached to the bedrooms. The house is very cut up and not conducive to little kids as there are a lot of knick knacks and items to break. There is a very steep set of stairs as well, but there is a nice elevator. House is very clean which is nice. The neighbors are a problem and called the city when one of our groomsmen went a little too fast down a driveway (mind you this happened twice within a 25 minute period but it gave her a reason to complain). There are parking issues and from what I understand from talking to the city licensing department, the neighbor is a very big issue and will call police and complain at the littlest items. This was a cloud over the entire event and dampened our family fun as we were afraid to talk outside. The paperwork says there is an 8pm quiet time which is ridiculous in the summer - yet the neighbor was laughing and carrying on until 10pm. If you need a large house for adults it is nice, but may not be worth the hassle. The management company was not aware of city guidelines and the properly parking requirements and almost resulting in our cars being towed in a city lot. Check everything out for yourself.

Masterpiece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Our family came here to spend the New year in Estes Park. The house was spectacular! The view from the deck is out of this world. we saw Deer and elk every day. The inside of the house is very cozy and clean. There is a great game room for the kids and adults. this home sits on a beautiful piece of property. The outdoor hot tub was very relaxing and it even snowed while we were in it(that was a bonus). every bedroom was done in good taste. The reservation staff was friendly and made out choice an easy one. they recommended this home and it was worth it!! We will be back and will recommend it to all of our friends.

Thanks for having this little piece of heaven in Estes Park.

Great family vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this home several times now and we always have a great time. Its spacious with plenty of room for our large family and guests. The location is peaceful and lovely. We usually spend the days in RMNP or the town of Estes Park. During the evening our family uses the game room extensively, including the pool table, shuffleboard table, and air hockey table. There is plenty of room for our family trivia and card games. And, we always enjoy the hot tub. Using it while its snowing is one of our favorite activities. I love the decks, the furnishings, the well stocked kitchen, all the TVs, and all the spaces that provide opportunities for family time, and for quiet alone time. We have always rented this home in the winter, but it would also be a wonderful home to rent during any season.

Dealing with Estes Park Central is always a pleasure. They quickly answer our questions, resolve any issues, and we have never had a problem getting our deposit back.

BUYER BEWARE...This place is certainly not a "Masterpiece" and will try to keep your deposit!

  • 2 of 5

My family rented the "Masterpiece" to spend a few days together for Christmas...the place was just OK, and certainly did not live up to the pictures and description online. Virtually everything in this house needs to be updated and it did not feel clean. The beds were all very uncomfortable, and some of the beds are inflatable mattresses which never work well. The hot tub is very small is the only way to get to it is through one of the main floor bedrooms...not very user friendly. While the house was not obviously dirty, it certainly had an old, used feeling to it so don't expect luxury.

The location of the house is spectacular...we were able to hike around and saw tons of elk. That is really about the only great thing I can say about this place.

The worst problem occurred after we left and needed to get our security deposit back. I was contacted by the property manager and told about the excessive cleaning required and damage to the house...she said she would be retaining the full amount until further notice. She offered to send pictures, which I accepted so that I could discuss any issues with my family. The pictures included some dishes in the sink and on the stove that couldn't fit in the dishwasher, a couple water glasses by a bathroom sink, a single towel on a bedroom floor, pool cues sitting on the pool table, etc. They claimed we broke a kids rocking chair, which actually just had an arm peg pop out when a 2 year old sat on it, and that we ripped a railing out of the wall. Surprise surprise, while the towel on the floor was worth a picture, they did not take any pictures of the railing! There were a couple of little marks on the carpet and a couple stains on comforters (which I'm sure could have been fixed by washing them...something they apparently do not do between guests). There was a gross booger on a wall, which I admit was pretty disgusting...I'm not sure if anyone in our group was responsible, but it certainly did not warrant retaining our security deposit. After a few emails back and forth the property manager refunded most of the security deposit, and retained the rest for the extra cleaning required (we paid a separate cleaning fee). When I asked for the remainder back, the boss of the management company refused because the cleaning fee is only half of what it really costs to clean the property! That's not my fault...they should not reduce the cleaning fee and try to get it back with the security deposit.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that this guest did not find that this house met their expectations. Before each guest arrives, we conduct a complete quality control inspection on the house to be sure everything is perfect. If there are issues such as damage to the house after a guest leaves, we photograph the issues and send the items to the guest within a few days after they leave. In this case, the house was left in a very poor condition including the damage. If a guest experiences an issue during their stay, they are encouraged to call us so that we can rectify any issue on the spot. This customer did not. This house has been on VRBO for over 6 years and has always received excellent reviews.

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5

House was a wonderful place for our extended family to use as a base camp for our week stay in Estes Park. House was beautiful. Great views, and very secluded from Estes Park. We were only a few miles from all of the traffic and crowds in Estes park, but it seemed like no one was within 10 miles of us. Very peaceful and quiet.

The game room was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed playing pool, air hockey and shuffle board.

The house had lots of living areas. It was easy to be in the middle of the action with family in one area of the house. Or, if you wanted to have a quiet and personal conversation with someone, there were plenty of other areas to go to and be undisturbed.

The elevator was quite helpful for my elderly parents. They would have not been able to handle the stairs in this house. It made the whole house accessible to them.

The only complaint I had, is I wish the carpet on the stairs was cleaned. It was very stained and not fitted well to the stairs. It was coming loose in several areas, and was definitely in need of maintenance.

Overall, it was a great rental house, and I would consider renting again.
