Our family has lived in the Wichita area for many years. In addition to Wichita, we lived in Turkey, while stationed overseas with the Air Force, and in Charleston, South Carolina. We have enjoyed living in the Wichita area, a community with lots to offer, but not as hectic as some of the larger cities.
Our family enjoys traveling and staying in rental homes. Using the HomeAway/VRBO rental site has been a great experience for us. Compared to staying in a hotel, a" home away from home" has enabled our vacations to be much more memorable and enjoyable.
My husband and I decided it would be desirable to offer a home for rent in the Wichita area. Our guests, travelers, and business clientele, can experience Wichita and enjoy staying in a home. It is our desire to make our guests as comfortable as possible while staying or living in Wichita. Our motto is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and as we clean and get our home ready for each guests, we think about this verse from the Bible. It is our desire that our guests will have a more enjoyable time in Wichita when they stay in our home.
Meredith Gillman purchased this house in 2012
The experience of staying in our home helps you to feel more connected to our city and to understand more of what it would be like to live in the Wichita area. Our home is in a safe, private community with great neighbors. We have walking trails, small lakes to fish in, and a pool in the summer season. If you are a YMCA member, we have a beautiful Y located in the nearby community of Andover. There is so much to see and do in the Wichita area, and why not be as comfortable as if you were living in your own home while visiting.
Our subdivision, with its country-like feel, has a pool in season, walking/hiking trails, and catch and release fishing. The community of Andover is close by with desirable restaurants and a very nice grocery store, Dillion's MarketPlace. There are also very nice parks and a beautiful library in Andover. The city of Wichita is easy to get around and offers so much to do with it's 8 shopping districts, 17 local festivals, 22 live theatres, 28 art galleries, 33 museums and 1000 plus restaurants. We are close to all areas of Wichita, on the easily accessible highways.
Beautiful home - peaceful neighborhood- excellent owner
Lovely 4 bedroom home, well maintained, enjoyed our stay, great area of town, would stay again. Home is worth considering.
We drove in from Western Kansas and decided to give this little charmer a go. We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful time. It was easy to forget we were in a city. We met friends and had plenty of room to chat and relax. It is close enough to the city that we were able to get to our favorite shopping and food places in about 5-10 minutes. Very handy location for the east side of Wichita. Meredith was an awesome hostess and took care of all our questions and made sure we felt right at home. Thank you Meredith for sharing your home with us, it was great!
Our family had a wonderful experience. The home was clean, the environment was comfortable and neighborhood was relaxing and well kept.
House was a joy to stay there, we will be staying again hopefully in May. Very nice.
This home was perfect for our family. There was ample room for the 6 of us. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were roomy. We loved that we never ran out of hot water when everyone was showering in the morning!! The owner was very responsive to our requests during our stay. The only drawback is that this home was closer to Andover than the Wichita area. We chose this home because of the two bathrooms. So for that we didn't mind the drive to this rural area. We will definitely stay here again during our next visit!!
Wichita is awesome! It is a city with many things to do and a good stopping place as you travel north, south, east or west with its location in the south central U.S.
There are restaurants for all tastes, 2 large malls, unique shopping areas, the award winning Sedgwick County Zoo, and a beautiful botanical garden named Botanica. Some of the museums in Wichita are Old Cowtown, Exploration Place, Wichita Art Museum, Museum of World Treasures and Kansas Aviation Museum to name a few
Not too far away lakes, Cheney and El Dorado State Parks are also places to visit. Fifteen minutes away, Sand Creek Station is in the top 25 of the best municipal golf courses in the nation. We are also very close to Flint Hills National Golf Course.
Wichita boast several fantastic YMCAs, one which is located close to our home.We have roller and ice skating rinks, mini golf courses, and Star Lite Drivein Theatre for the children and adults. There is also Intrust Bank Arena, and Hartman Arena where you can purchase tickets to the many attractions. Then there is the world famous Orpheum Theatre. Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre, and Cabaret Old Town. We have Frog Holler Paintball and laser tag. Not too far from Wichita is Tanganyika Wildlife Park and Hutchinson with its Salt Mine Underground Museum and
Kansas Cosmosphere Space Museum. These are just some of things to do in Wichita area. So spend some time in the middle of the country and experience Wichita.
