We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Trail House! The rustic cabin next to The fast flowing Swan R
Thoroughly enjoyed the rustic cabin builtby Gramps and walking its 160 wooded acres and hiking the paved trail up the River. Bighorn was quain and enjoyable easy access to Glacier NP and open Big Sky country🏔🌈
The highlight for me was the location. Walking down the driveway and encountering the Swan River, walking on the path up and down the river, fishing from the shore....what a luxury to have this in your back yard. Loved the deer and the chipmunks on the front lawn.
The house was clean, modern appliances, newer windows. Comfortable bed. We were amazed at all the beauty in that area and the whole northwestern Montana. Fabulous week stay. Nice to have the owners close by if you needed them.
Very clean, close to downtown and nature trail for walks, running
Quiet, but yet very accessible to town, restaurants. Used grill and w/d several times.
Close to downtown
I chose this location since we had young children I wanted to be away from any downtown noise yet close enough to walk and it was perfect. We debated between this location and downtown and I'm glad we chose this because we were able to experience downtown anyways without staying there so this gave us two areas to explore. You are surrounded by tall trees and can hear the river while outside relaxing in the comfy outdoor chairs. House had all the amenities we needed and when we ran low on supplies I messaged the owner really late at night and he brought them to our doorstep immediately. From previous reviews I thought the house was on the owners property like a guest house maybe but it's not. You have your privacy yet the owner is conveniently close to pick up the keys, etc.
Love the river walk, privacy, relaxing. Will probly stay again!
The Trail House is a cozy home that is very close to downtown, yet is tucked away in the trees above town. The house had everything that we needed in the kitchen. The home owners, who live just down the hill, were very friendly, and gave us our privacy after checking in. To top it all off, we were visited by about 12 deer both evenings that we stayed at the house, and enjoyed watching them walk through and eat in the front yard as we sat in the lawn chairs. I would definitely recommend staying in the Trail Cabin!
