Great beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

Love this home! Location was outstanding, just across the road from the beautiful beach. House was really well equipped. Had everything you might need for your stay. Joe, the owner, was super helpful with area information and very responsive to any last minute needs. We would definitely stay again should we find ourselves in this beautiful part of of the world.

A lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 8 friends staying in Port Hood during Celtic Colors. The cottage was very comfortable for the 8 of us and had everything stocked to make our stay enjoyable. We were close to many Celtic Color events and being located on the beach it also allowed for morning beach walks. Joe was very accommodating and we would all highly recommend this property to others.

Fabulous vacation home in Cape Breton

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a very special location on the island and a wonderful summer home! The Vissers have made every aspect of the cottage and our stay perfect! Very well stocked, super comfortable beds and linens and the most amazing front porch you can imagine. A great base to travel the island and a beautiful place to watch the sunset every night!!

Most amazing rental ever

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough to describe this beautiful place and the friendly owners and staff that look after their home. The house is beautiful and decorated so nicely and the views and small little town are breathtaking. The community is friendly and has just the right amount of amenities to keep it quaint but has everything you need. Thank you Joe and Lisa. You made our trip so memorable and fun. Would rent your place every time we visit and will share with all our family and friends. Lisa and Friends June 2017.

Very well appointed with everything you need, spotlessly clean and comfortable & very inviting

  • 5 of 5

The Vissers have created a little piece of heaven just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches the MRitimes has to offer. Clean, comfortable with all the conveniences of home but at the beach. The decor gives you that beach feel which automatically makes you feel more relaxed, playful and ready to take on all that this beautiful area of Cape Breton has to offer. We will definitely be back.

My house is located on Port Hood beach which is a safe beach because it is well protected by land. Water temperatures vary between 22 and 24 degrees C. The supervised area of Port Hood beach is normally about 200 meters wide beginning at the breakwater on the left side of the beach and extending about 100 meters to the right of the chair. The supervised swimming area is marked by red and yellow flags on either side of the beach. The water is very shallow, allowing the water to heat up early in the season and stay warm.
