Orleans House Rental Photos and Description

Plenty of space for multiple families, located on CCRT bike path

Great updates & location!

Updates include all new windows, new kitchen with improved layout, updated bath, new first level flooring and living room furniture. The house is located on a dead-end wooded street but its just around the corner from Orleans Town Center.

Open concept living, dining and kitchen area leads onto a large new deck. Perfect set up for one large or multiple smaller families. Located in the heart of Orleans on a quiet dead-end street, this ideal location is on the Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT), a 15 minute walk to both Skaket Beach and Orleans center for shopping and restaurants. Four very spacious bedrooms, two full bathrooms plus a new outdoor shower provides space and comfort making this an excellent family vacation home.

If you need bikes to enjoy the local trails and amenities, there are two bike rental shops just down the street. Hourly, daily or weekly rentals available.

Of course if you are renting at the Cape, beach details are important. The pictures shown are of Skaket Beach (bay side) which is .8 mile from the house. Skaket is a smaller but beautiful, has a large sand bar for those with children, parking lot, small snack bar and bathrooms. Nauset Beach (ocean side) is much larger, 4 miles from the house, has great ocean waves, with plenty of parking, large snack bar, picnic table area, and bathrooms.

Cooler, chairs & umbrella available in the garage to use. (items shown in picture gallery).

1st Floor Master Bedroom: Queen bed (striped bedding in pic) connects to main bathroom.

1st Floor Bedroom 2: Queen bed (coral & blue bedding in pics).

2nd Floor Bedroom 3: Queen bed and single bed (gray/blue bedding in pics)

2nd Floor Kids Bedroom 4: Six single beds

Full bath on each floor, 1st floor bath has laundry facilities. Outdoor shower, walkout basement, large driveway for multiple cars plus 1 car garage.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for large family gatherings. Useful kitchen gadgets, seafood necessities (steamer, lobster crackers & forks, oyster & clam knives), wine glasses & cocktail shakers, serving platters and plenty of extra dishes so you won't run out.

The house isn't just a rental property to us, its our vacation home as well so we use it often, maintain as needed and make it a bit better each year. We hope you enjoy your stay and thanks in advance for taking good care of our home.

About Margie & Jim Peterson

Mom & dad of two fantastic but typical teenagers who have enjoyed the Cape for years by camping at Nickerson State Park. Our favorite summer activities are movies at the Wellfleet Drive-in Theatre, having BBQ (Big Dogs BBQ) while bowling at the newly refurbished Orleans Bowling Center (OBC), clamming in the local shellfish beds, having at least one night at Land Ho!, ride our bikes to Arnolds for ice cream and mini-golf and of course the beach.

Margie & Jim Peterson purchased this house in 2013

Why Margie & Jim Peterson chose Cape Cod

We love this house because the wooded dead-end street gives the feeling of privacy but it's around the corner from everything we enjoy at the Cape. We bike to Arnolds or to Snow's who sells anything you forgot or need, it's close to Nickerson's kettle ponds & trails, grocery shopping, baseball in Orleans....We wish we could tell you everything there is to do and enjoy!

What makes this house unique

Our street is part of the Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT) bike path, the back deck is fabulous for group dining, and the hammock & swing are a lovely place for your morning coffee with a book.

Very nice rental home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This home is far nicer than most of the rental homes I have previously experienced. We had a few challenges when we first arrived due to the renters who had been in before us, but Margie and Jim were great about communicating with us and getting those issues resolved quickly. The location of the house is also great as it is walking distance from Skaket beach and from the center of town (especially the Hot Chocolate Sparrow). We rented for the week of our wedding, which occurred on Skaket beach and it was really ideal. Highly recommend!

Relaxing get away

  • 5 of 5

Excellent vacation home get away in Orleans, MA. Next to Cape Cod Bike trail and central location to beaches, restaurants and family activities. Supermarket also up the street which was really convenient. Deck is spacious and ate most meals outside on the deck. Cape Cod vacation was made complete staying in this house! Margie was quick to respond and home away app made booking the trip along with amenities easy. Can't wait to stay here again in the future.

Memorable family reunion

  • 5 of 5

The location of this house made it ideal for our group. Right on the bike trail! And so convenient to shopping and beaches. The house is big and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were lucky to have beautiful weather, but if it rained there was a DVD player with movies, a trunk full of board games and books for adults and kids. I only wish we could have stayed longer! Our group had all ages from 2-59. (12 total) with room around kitchen table

to celebrate a birthday. Coffee on the deck in the morning listening to the birds...I could go on and on!

Great space, convenient location, ample parking, beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I spent our senior week at this property, and everything was absolutely perfect. The house was the perfect size, and generally was the ideal space for relaxation and play! The proximity to the beach was ideal as well, a two minute drive at most.We took great pictures on the beach before our senior formal, too! We took advantage of the linen service, which were ideal for us. Not to mention, Margie and Jim were so kind in their dealings with us. Our friend group has talked about trying to go back to Salty Ridge again next year!

Great house, location, and information!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our trip. We have an annual themed winter retreat where a bunch of us nerds get together for board games and such. We rented this house because it was a location we hadn't been before as a group and because the house looked like it would have adequate space for our gaming and our large feast. We were so right.

The house is surprisingly spacious. We had 11 people and we never felt cramped. Not even when a bunch of us were cooking dinner. There were plenty of chairs and couches for everyone to enjoy conversation and movies and a large deck if you wanted to get some fresh air.

Being the organizer of the trip, my favorite part was all of the information and instruction that Margie provided. She answered all of my questions over the phone before I booked the house and made herself available if I needed to call back in or email. She was very polite - super friendly. She clearly lays out in the welcome letter the entire check out process so that there is no confusion as to what needs to be done when you leave, which I appreciated greatly. Also, she provided a list of recommendations for restaurants and attractions, a few of which we tried out which were great.

We had a great time and will certainly consider this house again if we come back to the Cape next winter!

September weekend

  • 5 of 5

Stayed there with my family for an extended fall weekend - ten persons, three generations. The experience could not have been better. the house is extremely comfortable, equipped for every need and eventuality, with clear instructions for the guest. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Convenient location, close to Bayside beach , store and restaurants.
