This lovely home is located in the community of North Highland Farms at Lake Adger, just minutes from Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, and Chimney Rock State Park. With its paved roads and beautiful natural surroundings, this is an ideal home to bring your bikes—there are miles of easy riding for you to enjoy the fresh air and mountain scenery. Your four-legged family members are also welcome here!

You are also welcome to bring your boat (contact us for size limitations, regulations, etc.); the Lake Adger public access site is less than a mile away. The lake is approximately 400 acres in size and offers great fishing. If you want to put in a Lake Lure, the access site is about 11 miles from the home.

Mountain Comfort

Whether you want to get away for a relaxing vacation or a long weekend, this beautiful home offers all the comforts you would expect. On the main floor is a functional kitchen complete with dishwasher, refrigerator, range, microwave, and coffee maker. The main floor also offers a stone fireplace in the living room for cool or romantic evenings, washer/dryer in the half bath and a master suite with queen bed plus full bath with double vanity and jetted bathtub.

Upstairs you will find a full bath and 2 additional bedrooms (1 with a queen bed, the other with 2 comfortable twin-size beds). Shelton's Way also has a full basement that can be used for exercising, hobbies, and more. Enjoy the natural surroundings, play on Lake Adger or simply relax on the screened porch or open deck for peace and serenity.

Dogs (up to 2) are welcome in this home with a $106.75 non-refundable fee.

Parking for four (4) vehicles.

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. local time (or later) at Carolina Properties Lake Lure office.

Check-out time is 10:30 a.m. local time (or earlier) at Carolina Properties Lake Lure office.

In addition to the rent, the following charges apply:

$45.00 Accidental Damage Protection which covers up to $1500.00 in accidental damages (non-refundable.) Any damage that exceeds $1500.00 will be the responsibility of the leaseholder/guest.

$90.00 Cleaning Fee

$100.00 Pet Fee (for 1 to 2 dogs; taxed)—contact us for a refund of this fee if you are not bringing pet(s)

3% Polk County Occupancy Tax

6.75% NC State Sales Tax

$50.00 minimum fee will be assessed for failure to properly remove/dispose of garbage from home (to avoid this fee, simply follow the Arrival/Departure Instruction sheet provided upon check-in and posted at the home)

Cancellation / Transfer Policy: If a confirmed reservation is canceled or transferred at least 30 days prior to arrival, a processing fee of $50.00 and a $20.00 reservation fee plus applicable North Carolina State Sales Tax will be charged against the Advance Deposit. If the cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to arrival, all funds received will be forfeited, unless the property can be re-rented for the canceled period for the full amount.

My family and I stayed at The Shelton Way this past weekend and enjoyed every second of it. The pictures does not do the home justice. It was absolutely amazing, very peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and the home had everything you would need to make any vacation worry free. We will definitely be going back.

Great family getaway

Spacious home tucked away in the hills near Lake Lure, NC. The quiet at this family getaway is deafening. Surrounded by porches on 3 sides you find great places to enjoy morning coffee, the deer, hummingbirds and wildlife that surround you.

Valted ceiling family room, well equipped kitchen, and spacious bedrooms provide space for family meals, games, and personal quite time.

Nice but far from Lake Lure

Home was very comfortable and clean. The house feels relatively new and sits on a private lot. I agree with the previous review's issues. Also the home is at least 25 minutes from the property managers building (Carolina Properties) and 30 minutes from Lake Lure Beach. Some of the route is very curvy and can be difficult to follow at night.

Comfortable, but with some issues

This is a very nice home, but with a few issues that potential guests should be aware of.

1) Little to no toilet paper is provided - you are asked to bring your own, so be prepared.

2) Garbage bags and paper towels are not provided. Again, you must bring your own.

3) Well pumps and hot water heaters are turned off when you arrive, so especially if you are renting for a horse show, be prepared for a 30 minute wait upon arrival for the water to heat up to take a shower.

4) There is no garbage pick up in the neighborhood, so you are asked to haul your own garbage to the dump.

5) Property management indicated that the home is 15 minutes to Tryon International Equestrian Center. It is closer to 25-30 minutes.

Other than these issues, the beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked with utensils.
