Great Location for Much-Needed Spring Retreat

Comfortable, well-equipped house for a long weekend retreat and recharge. The lake views are a great antidote for whatever ails you and hiking at the nearby state park put us back in touch with nature. Early spring weather didn't allow any lake activities, but it was still a great weekend.

Definitely booking again

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this lakehouse! It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The location right on the lake was stunning, especially the sunrises/sunsets. The open feel of the house made it so welcoming and spacious. We had a blast using the kayaks provided, and next time, we'll definitely be renting a boat to explore even more! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and fun retreat.

House is tired, needs updating and outside cleaning.

The house is old, owners remodeled kitchen minus the lighting which was non existent. The one fixture in the kitchen had one bulb in it, same with fixture over the dining room table. Stove looks new, but not working well. Cords all over the place in kitchen for ceiling fans and master bedroom, DIY electrical, a hazard if you have small kids. House advertised as light and airy - it’s not, it’s dark, with dirty dated carpeting. The furniture is a mis match of cast offs. Bathrooms had been remodeled and were clean. The deck stairs are steep with not to code risers, impassable by small children and elderly. The dock was great, covered docking for your boat which was nice, but don’t plan on taking your boat out at night, the lighting on the dock doesn’t work. Again cords hanging everywhere. Deep water off dock was great! Home is located close to Bridgewater Marina, we were there over July 4th week, and would have boated to the many fireworks events but with no dock lighting (other than a very insignificant solar light on a pole) it was not doable. With so many options for places to stay on SML, for the price highly unlikely we will return to this home.

This property was perfect for our long weekend! Clean and comfortable, great views of the lake!

This was a great place for our long weekend with our adult children. Though it poured rain the first few days, the a/c kept us cool and dry. Good family space for eating together and catching up on each other's lives. Our last day had beautiful sunshine so we spent the morning on the covered dock letting the conversation wander. In the afternoon we hopped in the kayaks that we had brought and paddled around parts of the lake. What a beautiful part of the world. This property had everything we hoped for. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers were great. The kitchen was well appointed and clean, and the open space of kitchen, dining room and family room were excellent for family time. Our adult kids agreed that this was an excellent choice for our time together. Parking was plentiful for the three cars. All around a very pleasant experience. Would we do it again at this property? Absolutely!

Great location and accomodations for family vacay

This is a great house with good space, great dock and loved the fire pit. My husband and I along with our 2 grown children and granddaughter enjoyed our long weekend stay. The house set up is great for multi-generation visits as the master is up and the other 2 bedrooms downstairs. The only reason we didn't give a 5 star rating is because parking is really tricky as the drive way is narrow and there is a significant drop-off on one side. We had to meet everyone at the end and help them back in so they wouldn't go off the edge down the embankment and could get out when they left. Also a bit disappointed that the boat ramp in the subdivision doesn't allow rental guest to use the put in there.

Spent 2 nights in this house, love it. Dock is great, fire pit is great and stocked with already cut wood. Definitely will try to book this again next year.

Great Location but not clean

This house is in a fantastic location. We had a blast on the patio, firepit, dock and out on the lake. We had no problem getting the boat out to the main lake, or home again! The house itself was great in size and features. We arrived though right after ant bombs had been put out so there were ants EVERYWHERE. Some dead, some alive. Some on the floor. Some on the couches and chairs. Some in the beds and baths. Two of the three sinks leaked while we were there. Prompt action was taken to temporarily remedy one but the other wasn't discovered until we were departing. Overall we enjoyed our stay. I had two little ones with me so I spent WAY MORE time than I wanted vacuuming to try to keep the ant problem controlled so the kids would stop picking them up and either bringing them to me or eating them! When i asked that the $100 cleaning fee be waived because of this, I got no response from the rental company. :(

Wonderful House

We stayed in the house during the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a wonderful place to stay. The entire backside of the house was windows and has a beautiful view of the lake. The rooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable. I would recommend this for anyone coming in the summer. There is plenty of water front and is on a quiet cove. The foozball table was an added attraction as my husband and son competed against on another.

Fabulous Property for Families & Dogs!

We stayed here with our college aged daughters and their friends before they headed back to school. There was plenty of space and amenities for all! The home was extremely cozy, well-stocked, and clean. We drank our coffee each morning on the balcony outside the master suite while enjoying the tranquil view of the lake. The property's location with respect to the lake is truly ideal. The finger on which the house is located was quiet enough such that we could swim around the perimeter - the water was 82 when we were there! We also really appreciated the side yard for our dog. Thank you for offering this property to us. We are already looking forward to our next trip to "A Family Retreat"!!!

Great!!!

The home was nice and cozy. Had everything we needed and everything worked. Close proximaty to the stores was super convenient for all the last minute things we needed. The covered dock and boat slip are the best part of the whole package! The kids had a great time.

Enjoyable home with great location and views!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this home! We have rented several homes on the lake and we loved the views, location, and amenities of A Family Retreat. The description of the home was accurate and we especially enjoyed the new covered dock. The location just off the main channel allows for less boat traffic and good swimming. The property is well-maintained and clean. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and plently of dishes. Comfortable furniture and beds.

Great Family Getaway

This home is clean and very well equipped. My wife and I have stayed here a half dozen times or so and keep coming back for more. We particularly enjoy the gentle slope to the water and the ease of entry for our four-legged family members. Well equipped kitchen and open floor plan make this a great place to enjoy a lake getaway.
