This charming historical farmhouse with gorgeous waterfront and side views is located at the end of a beautiful ocean bay in Addison Maine. Built by a sea captain in the early 1800's, it served as the village's first post office and still retains the same energizing warmth and hospitality it offered many years ago. Relax on the large front porch with your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine and watch the eagles, seals, otters, deer and maybe moose! Absorb positive energy from the large tides that constantly change the view for you. Walk or bicycle to Crowley Island, a natural bird refuge and don't forget your camera, the area beaches are just minutes away and connect to trails with breathtaking views. We offer a charming dining and living room, eat in kitchen complete , a cozy library full of books, even a children's section, board games, puzzles (a Maine favorite) and over 100 DVDs for a relaxing movie night. Tourist pamphlets and local restaurant menus are kept on premises to help you plan your days and nights. You will be just minutes away from grocery stores, local fisheries, restaurants, gift shops (Blueberry Land) and beaches. Less than an hour away from Acadia National State Park, 27 minutes to Rogues Bluff State Park, 15 minutes away from Beals Island, an hour and 30 minutes to Canada. This is a perfect get away for rest and relaxation and a chance to experience the magical shores of Maine. Experience a real "Down East Maine" fishing town with enchanting and picturesque views of rocky coastlines, lobster boats and wildlife. It is the perfect place to kick back, create memories and forget about life for awhile.

Why Elizabeth Marshall chose Jonesport
This is a very inviting house full of positive energy. It is beautifully balanced, peaceful and safe. Cross the street to stone steps that lead to a picnic area and watch the changing tides, Maine wildlife and reversing falls. By the time the water reaches the Captains House the sun warms it up making it nice for swimming and kayaking. Historians say the salt water pond next to the house was a great swimming area for local children. Area beaches are beautiful, picturesque and great for finding little treasures. You will usually have them all to yourself. semi-private and only minutes away!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Go back in time, escape the rest of the world and relax! A great getaway. The ocean gives positive energy and strength. The tides are large and fun to watch. The "reversing falls" are right across the street. Swim in the warmer salt water pond next to the house.
Beautiful as always
This was our third time staying at the farmhouse, and we love returning to this treasure each year! Our kids love the library full of children's books and games, and we love the peace and natural beauty of the setting. The community people are always so friendly, and the homeowner is wonderful and really cares about your stay. We can't wait to return again!
Is is always my pleasure to share this home with you
Thank you for your uplifting support! I feel like you are part of my family 😊❤️
We chose the Bayfront Farmhouse for its location equal distance between things we wanted to see in Maine, its seclusion, closeness to the bay and potential to experience wildlife. It was a good choice. To fully appreciate the solitude you may want to do a Google Maps Satelite View recon of the property. It is off the beaten path and away from the crowds. We were able to do comfortable day trips to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Coastal Light Houses and Campobello Island Canada. The property is everything it appears to be the the photos. It is old but well kept and clean. The washer/dryer came in very handy on our extended tour of New England. The owner Elizabeth was very helpful before and during and after our stay. The first night we arrived the temperature was forecast to drop to 40 degrees which is too cold for us Texans so when we found the downstairs furnace not working we were concerned. Elizabeth was very responsive helping us try to trouble shoot the problem by text and the following morning she had her local repairman out to get it going. The upstairs furnace was working so we had no problem sleeping. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights stay and would choose this property again.
Everything you could need is there
This house is everything it is described as. You won't need a thing. It's all there, and I believe this is the cleanest rental we have stayed in.
Thank you. We have great housekeepers helping out
I hope you enjoyed your stay and relaxed!
A charming getaway, clean and pleasanr
Our family enjoyed this vacation homeand the quietness of our location. There were places to see and we loved being able to explore and return to the pretty waterfront home. Clean, and affordable. The house is older which adds to the historical seaside appeal.
Peaceful relaxation surrounded by beauty
The porch of this 200 year old house views a majority of the things that made our vacation a wonderfully memorable one. Looking out on the bay throughout each day, keeping track of the hours of the tide changes with the bay emptying and filling again, watching fog or mist roll in, seeing where the family was kayaking on smooth waters, witnessing the sunrise and especially the sunset on the sunshiny day with the incredible color and shadow plays on the shore and trees, inhaling the salty air; or just sitting on the porch with coffee in the mornings; and looking into the house where lunch was being prepared or the family relaxing in the living room and parlor.....this property was a truly memorable place to rent for our vacation! We just wish it wasn't so far away from home. Besides the property itself, our favorite beach visit was at Roque Bluffs State Park, as the tide was coming in. We stopped in at Wild Blueberryland in Columbia Falls also, and had our first ever blueberry soda. The guys enjoyed using the bikes to go to Crowley Island. But it was so nice every day to come back to this relaxing spot. It was absolutely lovely.
The only drawbacks, which would not matter to many people, would be the steep stairs to the bedrooms for anyone with mobility or balance issues; and lack of AC. The majority of the time we were comfortable since the nights were cool and refreshing. Fans are provided.
I would certainly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful, peaceful vacation with activity options available with the bikes and kayaks, and local coastal parks and beaches, away from the maddening crowd. :) I totally enjoyed sitting out at the picnic table in the front lawn, sketching the bay scene with my art materials. I hope that someday we can return.
What a wonderful description, and we are so happy to share it with lovely folks like you! I’d love love love to see your sketches I’ll bet they are awesome 😊. Thanks for sharing, hope you return☺️
We stayed here in August with our 4 kids aged 2-10. It was wonderful!
Liz was a great host, the house was better than the pictures. We loved the tidal inlet and exploring the area. Spent one day at Acadia, but otherwise just explored the area. Great, relaxed vacation! Thanks!
Great seafood, fresh lobsters and clams only 5 miles to the North Atlantic Lobster Sales or to Jonesport fishing wharf.
Quaint fisherman's town, beautiful scenery, in real down east Maine. Area beaches are beautiful and usually unoccupied so you'll have the beach all to yourself. Nice walking trail and kayaking at the Town Beach off Narrows Rd. Cape Split Beach offers soft sand and an array of unusual stones and sea glass.
