El Matador is truly a beach resort. Just two miles down Santa Rosa Blvd at the end of the Island you will find us – secluded but still just a few minutes to all the amenities that Destin and Fort Walton Beach have to offer. Just six miles down Hwy. 98 you can enjoy Destin – “ The Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village” – charter a private trip or take the kids out on a group boat and catch dinner. While in Destin enjoy fine restaurants, shopping, and golfing on some of the best golf courses in the Panhandle of Florida. Hard to believe that you might need a day off from the beach but if you do take the family to Big Kahunas Water Park in the center of old Destin. Much more than just a water park… it’s a day of fun!

Back at the El Matador enjoy the large grass areas between our buildings just right for family fun and games. With two pools, his and her whirlpool, and saunas just right for your tired muscles after a game of tennis on one of our courts, or in our fitness center. We are located at the end of Okaloosa Island a small barrier Island between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. This gated community with thirteen miles of undeveloped beaches to the west is sure to have you longing to return.

Great stay!!!!

Beautiful condo in a great location. We have stayed at the El Matador for years and years, and I can honestly say that this is by far the nicest condo that we have ever stayed in. It looks like it must have been updated recently and felt extremely clean, which was one of the most important factors for me when searching for a condo because our 10 month old son would be crawling everywhere. We will definitely be back to stay here!

Very clean and fresh

Beautiful unit, very clean and newly renovated. Kitchen is well stocked and had everything you would need just bring your food. Bathroom was spacious and the shower is amazing. Bedding was luxurious and the mattress was very comfortable. Great location too just a few feet from the pool and beach entrance. Highly recommend!!!

Great Spot

July 6th-13th 2019 We have a two year old child and the room was PERFECT for us to get to the pool and back to the room. I counted 30 steps from the back of our room to the pool. Room was big and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, and plenty of room to put your clothes. I would definitely get this room again. Thanks.

Property was as described. Room was nice. It could use some updates here and there but was clean. Kitchen and bath was furnished sufficiently. We really liked the ground floor unit. Very convenient for loading and unloading and a very short walk to the beach and pool. Loved the location being the last complex on a dead end road. Would definitely stay again and hopefully we'll get the chance soon.

Steps from the pool and beach and the beautiful grass off the patio where the kids can play is perfection! You can sit and relax and watch them play with their friends they’ve made. If you don’t want to make lifelong friends this isn’t the place for you ! We’ve stayed here for years and it’s so friendly and the perfect place .... Like going back in time with modern amenities ! This condo is updated and so clean and fresh and new !! Plan on staying here every year ! It’s our 3rd and we love it. Highly recommend !!

That is a must for my husband. The bed was comfortable and the TVs were great quality. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. Bring your own paper towels. The walk to the pool is 30 steps. The beach is so close and the boardwalk is short with 4 steps at the bottom. The AJ Hollis team was wonderful to work with! You will go pick up a physical key but it is very close to the condo and on the way. We cannot wait to stay at El Matador 414 again in the future!
