About Property Manager
The owner, Bruce, was a factory worker, logger, newspaper reporter, PR flunkie, and unpublished fiction writer before he discovered computers and lost all interest in reality. He spent 12 years in a computer fog, but gave it all up to move to the Silver City area in 1999. He is now in recovery, but does find time to manage an office building and a few other business projects in town.
Property Manager purchased this House in 1999
Why Property Manager chose Silver City
Bruce lived in this beautiful house for five years before turning it into a vacation rental. If you don't book it, he probably will. It's a sacred place that he likes to share with others.
What makes this House unique

An Enchanted Home situated in The Land of Enchantment
Our 3 days and nights spent at Agave Ridge Retreat was a wonderful and memorable experience! Our only regret was that our travel schedule wouldn't allow for a longer stay. This well appointed home is located on a very secluded 18 acres, so if your looking for privacy this is the place for you. We hiked several of the trails on the property, and a map is provided showing their location. The coal black night sky with the stars shining like diamonds will take your breath away.
The historic Buckhorn Saloon & Opera House which is ten minutes away in nearby Pines Altos has a great dinner menu, and the open mike entertainment the night we dined there was great! Also the Gila Cliff Dwellings and the amazing Gila Catwalk are not far from Agave House and shouldn't be missed.
We truly hope to return to Agave House again someday...
Great space nestled within a wonderful place.
Very comfortable home with recreational opportunities in every direction.
Recommended & I will return.
well-designed, quiet home
We liked the location in a canyon off NM15 a few miles north of Pinos Altos. The house is isolated and very quiet. The design is environmentally conscious; it has no AC but lots of vents, and the water is heated by solar panels with butane as a back-up. Rugs, modern art, and decorations give the house a pleasant feel. The living room is wide and open, and the porches allow you to spend much time outside.
Beautiful home and location
Loved our time there and hope to go back again.
Beautiful, well appointed home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we would have had more time. The home is spacious and beautifully appointed with thoughtful (not kitschy) Southwest-style decor. Lots of windows and lights for viewing the outdoors. Quiet, starry night skies. Hiking opportunities (but you must be willing climb over boulders). Watch for snakes in the summer! I got rattled at by a Banded Rocky Rattler. I set up a temporary hummingbird feeder and were pleased to see many Rufous hummers and a Magnificent Hummingbird (my first time!) A very quiet, beautiful corner of New Mexico that is far less traversed than the Santa Fe/Taos area. Highly recommend. Hope to be back!
The full beauty of this house is not clear until you arrive. A wonderful setting in a spectacular landscape. The house is comfortable, clean, and well designed with lots of nice touches. Plenty of great spots to sit outside and enjoy a drink. And fun little paths for kids to explore. Worth the journey.
