We Arrived a day late and walked into a mess. The house wasn’t clean the bedding was stained and the hot tub was only 3/4 full and had sand in it. We refused to stay and found another place to stay. Will probably not use Vrbo again. Didn’t even get a full refund! I do not recommend staying here!!

World’s most okay beach house. Very warn down, small, AC doesn’t work very well and house often got up to 75-76 during the day when set to 65. Very affordable so can’t complain too much. Had some problems with WiFi and TV upon check-in and host communicated well to find a solution.

I don't usually leave bad reviews but...Not as described. The ceiling leaked overnight right above my bed and onto the night stand where my phone was charging. The ice machine doesn't work. The ac keep the house at 80 during the day. Only 2 of the tvs worked. The description of the walk to the beach needs updated. Half of my group couldn't handle the walk so we drove to the public access everyday. The only plus side was the hot tub and being pet friendly

Thanks to our guests for the feedback. A very important point was left out in that once reported, the leak was addressed even while our guests were still there. To the best of our knowledge this problem did not reappear during the stay, and the problem is resolved going forward. Also, during the stay, the A/C was addressed and now works fine. Please know our guests' comments were taken in good taste and served as notification of matters that needed to be addressed for them and future guests.

Pros, it is a 4 BR 2 Bath house with a Hot Tub. Close-ish to the beach, around & thru the sand dunes, like a 10 minute walk.Cons, furniture & decor is outdated, miscellaneous stuff. Some of the outlets work - some don’t. The AC is horrible! We had to drive a hour out of our way to Walmart to buy not 1 but 4 fans, that was like 100. Wires & cables are laying out everywhere, made the place look trashy. Could go on but I am done…WON’T GO BACK!!!

I feel like for the money this was an awesome vacation home only complaints I had was where the previous people who stayed in the home didn’t take there trash out on time so there was a lot of trash left behind. Our washer machine was broken and the hot tub was dirty but I pushed those up to management and they got both of those things fixed by the next day. I love there area was definitely what me and my family needed I would go there again this being my first verbo and beach house experience I’d say it was well worth it. Only thing I could suggest is some of the stuff yall have outside could be updated a lil the crab trans fishing gear and bike were not useable. Aside from those small things I’d can comfortably say I would come back

Where do I start with this property: if you have children, it’s a history lesson. They have a VHS player (the rewind doesn’t work great, took about an hour to fully rewind a tape) and about 50 fun old movies from my childhood. Lots of old books on the shelves too. The place hasn’t been updated EVER. I mean, from the carpet to the decor and furniture-have low expectations on that front. The hot tub was not full when we got there, much to my children’s chagrin, but the property manager showed up and was very kind. He filled it up the next day for us. I was not aware you had to bring your own sheets and pillowcases. I have never experienced that. I guess it’s a thing? I’m also a STR owner and I would never think to do that-what an inconvenience to the travelers. But anyway, the property managers took pity on me for not realizing that and they did bring us sheets so for that, very grateful. They worked with us. But again, the location can’t be beat and the cabin brings up old memories of childhood and is nostalgic for our generation. Quiet and peaceful and the beach is a short walk away. That was worth dealing with old creaky doors, a musty odor, and old couches and furniture. Not sure I’d be back but for a last minute get away that didn’t break the bank, it was good.

Comfy beach house in a great location

2nd stay here. We will be back. This is a nice comfy home with an open beachy feel. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. We had a small issue and our hosts quickly resolved.Hot tub and lookout are nice extras.

Beach Getaway

Quiet neighborhood. Pleasant stay. 2022 remodel seems to have been successful. The house has losts of Outer Banks character. Central location in Salvo, NC allowed us to do day trips to both the north and to the south. Overall a great stay and great vacation.

The property itself was beautiful. Loved the island in the kitchen. Loved how it was set up. Down falls mattress protectors covered in stains n what looked like feces. Air conditioner didnt work well and the washer stopped drainin after one use.

Thanks for the input. The linen issue requires further investigation. Our staff meticulously provides clean linen for each guest. We paid to replace parts for the washer because sand was found in the rinsing mechanism. We've asked guests to make sure any beach apparel is sand free before washing. Unfortunately, it looks as though our guests' second wash included beach wear with sand which explains why it drained correctly on the previous wash and not this one. Once again, we ask that future guests to be mindful of these instructions. We have also noticed that we have no AC issues if guests' follow the setting limitations in our instructions and make sure windows and doors are closed while operating the AC. Thank you

It is a very nice neighborhood, very quiet, and the sky was beautiful. The house was very run down and there were cords to the tv, vcr, etc hanging everywhere. 3 cockroaches were on the floor around the house and everything seemed grimy. The blinds were mentioned not having been replaced by the last renter... but the last renter must have stayed for a very long time and either dogs or something had torn things up. Overall, it was the least expensive house in the area, but with some heavy freshening up, replacing woodwork, furniture, etc, it could be a really nice spot. Unfortunately, we wish we had spent the extra 300 to stay elsewhere.

We appreciate the feedback. The dead bugs found are a product of the ongoing professional treatment required because of the climate in the area. Finding them shows that the treatment is working and we're sorry you experienced the residuals. We'll continue with regular treatment. While respecting your opinion, to characterize the house as run down may be more of an observation of an old style since we spent literally spent thousands over the last couple of years replacing all of the decks, replacing and painting all of the siding and maintaining the interior walls and ceiling. As stated earlier, we appreciate your feedback, but we want future guests to know that much attention is paid to the maintenance and upkeep of the house.

The house is a bit dated but has its charm- loved the location and hot tub. Towels were provided. Wish there had been cleaning supplies provided tho, we had to bring our own soap for the bathrooms and kitchen, as well as wipes, etc. the vhs collection is very retro and awesome

There were several issues that were listed in previous reviews that weren’t taken care of- none of the TV’s worked, live cockroaches in the kitchen, no towels were provided and washer didn’t work. We did reach out to owner who offered to send someone over to look at washer. Place is dated and suggest anyone heed past reviews and concerns. Plenty of other options to spend your money

Thank you. Can't do much about the dated interior; the goal is to provide a pleasant vacation for our guests. Having said that, the other concerns presented are legitimate ones. But our future guests should know that we have 1. continuous extermination through a contractor 2. The welcome packet clearly contains an offer for guests to arrange towels ahead of time or bring their own 3. The contractor did identify the washer problem as having sand in the mechanism despite our constant request that guests do not wash sand filled garments. At yet another service cost, the washer now works. 4. While we make it clear in our agreement that we are not responsible when things like weather or other factors disturb the Direct tv signal, we still arranged for a technician to contact our guests to address the problem. Although these unexpected events occur beyond our anticipation, we promptly attempt to address them as soon as notified.

Hey everyone, we had a fantastic time in Salvo. I’m not here to compare real estate, but the house, although a bit dated and in need of a few minor fixes, was overall fantastic. The kitchen was well-equipped, the rooms were clean, and the hot tub was great. It was conveniently located between a couple of beach access points, making it an excellent value for the price. No complaints at all. I highly recommend checking this place out.Additionally, I spoke with the caretaker about the older reviews regarding the mattress covers and the non-functioning A/C. Those issues had all been resolved—the A/C was ice cold, and the beds were fine. We saved a lot of money by cooking dinners and breakfasts. Finally, the WiFi was flawless and parking was a breeze!
