My goal is to provide customers low-cost lodging in the Snowshoe Village while ensuring a comfortable vacation. My low price guarantee is valid from mid-March through the first weekend of skiing. I'll beat any verifiable, comparable Mountain Lodge offer during those dates. I have additional condos if this one is booked.

Snowshoe Resort is a year-round vacation resort. In the winter, you can enjoy 60 different ski slopes, two terrain parks, tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. After the slopes close you can stroll through the Village's restaurants, shops, kids’ entertainment zone, nightclub, full-service spa and a teen center for those 20 years old and younger.

In the summer you can plan on a significantly cooler climate in the mountains where you can hike, mountain bike, fish, paddle-boat, shoot sporting clays, ride RAZR 4-wheelers, or golf at Raven Golf Course. There is even a zip line right in the Village! Year-round you can sightsee, swim, see live theater, or take a scenic ride on a historic train. If you’re planning a summer trip, double-check with Snowshoe to ensure the activities you want will be available.

The Mountain Lodge is a Ski In/Ski Out complex ideally located right in the Snowshoe Village and next to the slopes, and has its own private parking lot (free to Mountain Lodge guests). You’ll be 30 yards from the Ballhooter Lift and the Beginners’ Slope, all within the Basin. The indoor pool/hot tub/ sauna (additional charges apply), church, and general store are only a short walk from your building. Your condo at the Mountain Lodge is also within walking distance of the Western Territory slopes and the shuttle to night skiing at Silver Creek, giving you outstanding access to all 60 slopes. On the ground floor, you’ll find a relaxing lobby with a warm (in the winter) fireplace. Mountain Lodge common areas and condos each have their own dedicated wi-fi. You’ll have Auntie Pasta’s (check in advance for hours of operation) and an arcade all in the building. Mountain Lodge also offers a nightly movie during the ski season. Mountain Lodge is the only building on the mountain with on-site maintenance, just in case. The mild weather most of the summer at the top of the mountain allows for the lack of air conditioning in the building and in most condos. Despite this, some condos do have interior air conditioning. Please check the condo’s amenities for details.

You’ll have a spacious one bedroom condo that easily sleeps four and is one of the few with air conditioning. This unit is beautifully re-modeled with oak doors, oak trim, oak cabinets, and oak wainscoting almost throughout. The kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, etc. so you can bring food to eat-in. The bedroom has a queen bed and a TV and has plenty of storage space to keep you gear out of your way. There’s a sleeper sofa in the living room. The bathroom is re-modeled with a double vanity for extra room. There's a TV/DVD/VCR player in the living room. Videos can be rented downstairs in the lobby or at Wildcat Provisions. Your condo will have a built-in ski rack and a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountain.

Your cell phone may not work in and around Snowshoe Mountain. The area east of the mountain is a quiet zone due to the Green Bank National Radio Astronomy Observatory. As of 2015, AT&T has service at the resort, but not down the mountain to the east. Your GPS will work everywhere, but don’t count on your phone working (voice or data).

Guests may begin checking in at 5:00 PM.

Guests MUST be checked out by 11:00 AM - no exceptions.

About Tim Wolfe

I own this and two other condos at Mountain Lodge. I bought the first one in 2004 and the other two in 2013. You can see at least 58 comments from happy guests at listing # 178704 (rates 4.7 out of 5). I look forward to accommodating you.

Why Tim Wolfe chose Snowshoe

I loved it when I went the first time. Mountain Lodge is the ideal location on the mountain.

What makes this condo unique

The staff is always friendly. It's like a family atmosphere. Stepping outside the building onto the slopes is pretty nice, too.

Can't beat it for value!

  • 5 of 5

Great view from the window, building right next to the trails. Tim's always quick to respond, and was very flexible when I had a change of plans. Mountain Lodge isn't the most luxurious building at the resort, but it should suit most people's needs. I'd definitely stay here again!

Excellent Mountain views to start and end our days

  • 4 of 5

Very convenient location @ Snowshoe without paying big bucks. This unit is at the end of the building, so it was very quiet during the summer, no idea of what winter brings with the clip-clop of ski boots. For the summer, we were able to park near our entrance, and never saw a sole. Very private.

The unit is comfortable, very clean, had all we needed to enjoy our visit. Nice selection of TV apps if you need it. Our view overlooked the surrounding mountains and watching the morning or evening fog/mist move in and out made you realize how dynamic the mountain life is.

Great location walking to the newest village, literally minutes away. For the summer time, Snowshoe has so many activities on the property. Within 30 minutes from the top of the mountain, we were able to ride the train over at Cass, visit Green Bank, ride bikes on the Greenbrier River Trail, play golf, and more. Our week flew by.

Rating 4 stars is more of the overall rating of the Mountain Lodge as it is not a new facility, so I don't think of it as a 5 star property. That doesn't mean you won't have a 5 star vacation!

The property manager Tim, was very helpful and accomodating, thanks. He was extremely responsive regarding questions and information. No surprises, we were very comfortable in the room.

Great stay on a great mountain

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with a couple of my buddies during the week. The mountain was not busy, and lots of fresh powder fell while we were there. The unit had comfortable beds, a nice balcony, and a great kitchen for cooking meals. Loved the location, right next to the ballhooter lift which made it prime real estate. Would definitely stay here again!

it was fine. Nothing spectacular just ok.

  • 3 of 5

I was not impressed at all with the condo or Snowshoe. I have done a lot of skiing in my lifetime in New York, PA, Colorado, and more. For $400.00 a night I thought the condo would be a little nicer. It was just ok. In the condo you could not turn the heat down. The dishwasher was full of dishes clean but full. The slopes shut down at 4:30 & then you have to take a shuttle to a bus to night ski until 9:00. The village shuts down at 9:00 as well. The bus for the condo drops you off at the end of the parking lot to Mountain Lodge. The amount of time wasted walking to buses, taking shuttles to the bus, etc. is ridiculous. For the amount of money I spent I expected more. I will not visit Snowshoe again.

Good Location, Comfortable Condo

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Condo #188 in the Mountain Lodge at Snowshoe. The condo was as advertised with an excellent ski out location right next to a lift, good view from balcony, good wifi connection, and was clean and properly equipped. Tim provided good information, responded promptly to questions, and worked with us on dates when we had to unexpectedly change weekends. The Mountain Lodge itself has seen better days and is an old structure clearly in need of some renovation. Snowshoe has no cell phone connectivity so if you want to stay in touch with kids while skiing you need to make sure you bring portable radios for communication as mobile phones will not work. There also are a limited number of restaurants in the village and so if you are going to eat out, particularly on a weekend night, you need to plan for a 60-90 minute wait. The pool and hot tubs are not part of Mountain Lodge and require a separate payment of $15 per day per person for use.
