– Gentle Winds is one of St Croix's premier vacation condos. Only 64 units on 45 lush acres. No high-rise. No crowds. (Only about forty units are available to rent; the others are used exclusively as second homes.)
– Located centrally on St. Croix's mostly undeveloped scenic North Shore. Gentle Winds is adjacent to Salt River National Park and Ecological Preserve.

– Restaurants, shopping, marina, diving, kayaking, 18 hole Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course just minutes away.
– 15 to 20 minutes from picturesque, historic Christiansted and Frederiksted
– Gentle Winds has one of the island's most beautiful swim and snorkel beaches and is virtually private. There is a safety rope demarcating the sandy bottomed swim area. Lounge chairs and shaded tiki huts are numerous and readily available.

Great week at Gentle Winds!

We had a great family week at GW C1! Our hosts were lovely and very responsive to any questions. The property was exactly as described and had everything we needed. We ate breakfast in, ate at the Sunny Shack or elsewhere on the island for lunch and went out various places for dinner. Property is stocked for you to cook all your meals after a visit to the grocery store if you want. Location is great! Beach and pool were perfect for all day or after we explored elsewhere half the day. Centrally located to get to other parts of the island easily. We visited Fredericksted and the west end a couple times, Cane Bay a couple times, Christiansted several times, a trip to the east end and Point Udall with a stop at the Buckaneer Resort for lunch and a visit mid-island to St George Estate for the botanical gardens and former plantation ruins and history. Take a boat ride from Christiansted to snorkel or the sunset cruise we did. So much to do and a wonderful place to make your home away from home! Perfect spot for your visit to St. Croix with wonderful hosts, plenty of room to spread out inside, on the screened in porch or the outside garden seating area. If you like cats, the roaming community cat might visit you in the garden seating or meet you outside the front door!

Cousin beach trip

We had a great experience at this Gentle Winds condo. Beautiful unit with lots of extras. Our hosts went above and beyond. Great central location on the island. Beach & pool area are beautiful and well kept!!

Great property!

We really enjoyed our stay at Gentle Winds. The condo itself is well decorated and in a great location. Robert and Maresa are prompt and detailed - checkin and checkout were a breeze. The central location was amazing for us, as we left everyday to check out new beaches, hike and explore different places on the island. The only feedback I’d give is that Gentle Winds in general was an older community, and the beach isn’t super accessible (pretty rocky and the waves can be a bit strong on the north side). We weren’t welcomed by some of the other owners and were told we were outsiders when trying to stay on the beach under a tiki hut.

Wonderful property and location

My husband, 2 grandchildren and I recently returned from St. Croix. The condominium and property were exactly what we were wanting for our vacation. It was very quiet and uncrowded. The pool and beach area are beautiful and the bar/grill is very convenient. We would definitely return to Gentle Winds condominium.

Great location, excellent host! St. Croix is always as relaxing as you want it to be and Gentle Winds condos are amazing. The beach is great. Nick and his crew at the Snack Shack are wonderful. If you go to St. Croix, Big Beards for a 1/2 day snorkel to Buck Island is a must!! Also at least one meal at the Chicken Shack.

Great Location on St. Croix

We enjoyed a weeks stay at Gentle Winds Condo. It is on the north shore near Salt Cay, between Christiansted and Frederiksted. The owners were very easy to work with and prompt with all correspondence/ They generously allowed us to shift our stay to accommodate a travel delay.. The complex is on a massive green space abutting the ocean. Plenty of room for long walks and getting some sun. Maresa's unit has an ocean view with a short walk to the beach. We made good use of the beach and pool every day. The beach shack on property had great drinks and was handy for lunches. The condo itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Pretty much everything you need. We found the screened in porch to be great for evenings. You will need a car to enjoy the island and sites. The roads are a bit of a challenge due to the numerous potholes. But we got more used to them as the week progressed. We highly recommend taking the Buck Island boat excursion (snorkeling) through Big Beards in Christiansted. There are a few restaurant / bars nearby (10 minute drive) in the Cane Bay area. The views at The Landing and Off the Wall were great. These are casual beach grills. We did not do any fine dining. Food was good. Leatherback brewery, at the south end of island, had excellent pizza, beer and drinks. We highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to go back.

St Croix Paradise

Gentle Winds is a beautiful property. There was two days of our vacation that we didn’t even leave the property it is that nice. Loved the beach area on the property and the pool and the beach shack for lunch and drinks. Such a relaxing vacation. Robert and Maresa were wonderful hosts, took care of any concerns we had promptly. Would definitely stay here again. Hopefully soon.

Wonderful exerience!

This condo was lovely, clean, well appointed and the location is amazing! Great hosts-easy to communicate with and they were very supportive. Gentle Winds is a perfect vacation community. Big salt water pool, fun beach shack that serves drinks and beautiful beach. We rented 4 condos in this community for a family reunion. The amenities were perfect for all ages-basketball court, tennins/pickle ball court/playground and shuffleboard and more!

We had an absolute amazing time at this condo. My family fit comfortably. The Condo has a King bed which slept my husband and I, a Queen which slept my teen and my 7 YO, and a sofa pullout bed which was comfortable enough for my 16 YO. The condo is located directly in front of the pool, the beach and the beach shack. It was a short walk to all these amenities and made it easy to peak out the window and check on my kids (I could see the pool from the condo). The condo is located in a very serene location surrounded by lush mountains and the ocean. We made several trips away from the condo because there is so much to see and do in St Croix but it was nice to come "home" to our amazing "backyard" to relax and enjoy some yummy food and drinks from the Beach Shack. Very family friendly, grocery store (Food Town) was less than 2 miles away, also 12 minutes away from the Cane Bay Beach area which had great snorkeling and great restaurants in the area.

Amazing Condo and Condo Complex

We stayed at the condo including 3 adults and 2 children. The children shared the entry room with pull out bed. The owners are very responsive to any needs you have during your stay. The condo was perfect for the 5 us and did not feel crowded at all. The sun room and exterior garden area are a huge benefit over other condos in the property. We enjoyed the complex and it is very good for all types of travelers. For us, having the uncrowded pool and beach area for the kids without ever having to worry about them was a huge bonus. It's such a private and secure setting. The north side of St Croix is where the tourists tend to stay and being in the middle of the island has its benefits. It's easy to go to one side or the other on day excursions. Even staying at the complex was great. I highly recommend everything about this unit and location.

Fantastic Property

The property had all the comforts of home with spectacular views that totally made our week more enjoyable. Just a very short walk to the pool and beautiful beach. As an extra bonus, we were able to enjoy the excellent food and cocktails daily at The Sunny Shack! We would certainly recommend this rental and look forward to returning again someday in the future. Communication with the owner/manager was excellent.

Accomodating

We were booked to stay in unit C1. Unfortunately when we arrived the air conditioning was not working. The owners fortunately were quick too act and we moved to the building next door in their friends unit B3. The air condition in this unit was brand new and worked wonderfully. The only issue was the unit had not been throughly cleaned. I gave a cleanliness 5 star only because the original unit C1 was cleaned properly. We should have requested the unit be cleaned over but with the moving in and then moving to a different unit, we just wanted to start our vacation. After 2 days in the replacement unit, the owners claimed the unit air was fixed and for us to move back. At this point we just weren't hearing that. It was unseasonably HOT, there were 4 of us and we had belongings for 9 days. At that point it was too much of an undertaking. After a lot of going back and forth with the owners, they finally agreed we'd finish our vacation in unit B3. The beach was nice and it was great to have a bar and snack shack on the beach. The pool was nice and clean and I appreciated that there was an outside shower to rinse off in. The one thing I would warn about.. I did not like the winding roads to get up to the property. At night with no street lights was terrifying and traveling west during the sun setting was blinding. We've been to st croix many times and it was nice to have the space, the beach and comfort of the condo but I really preferred being closer to town. Just a matter of preference. Bottom line, the owners Bob and Marrisa were very accommodating.

A Little Slice of Paradise

We absolutely loved our stay at Gentle Winds C1 condo. The condo was equipped with everything you could possible need for a relaxing vacation. The breeze was wonderful we didn't need the air-conditioner and felt very comfortable. The condo was exactly as described. The pool, beach and the Sunny Shack made it feel as though we were at a resort. We did rent a jeep which we used to explore St. Croix's history, culture and beautiful beaches. Still much more left to see and do. Looking forwrd to our next stay.

Had Everything we Needed in Paradise!

At Gentle Winds, we found exactly what we needed for a relaxful vacation. The condo was in a good location on the island, the pool, beach and grounds well cared for. The unit itself comes fully stocked with everything you need to cook or to go to the beach! It is a little older of a unit, but again well maintained with newer appliances. We had some contact with the host during our stay and they were amazing in response time. Overall, I would highly recommend this home to family or for two couples traveling together (both bedroom were ensuites which is always a plus!). Thank you for sharing your home with us and giving us the best time in St. Croix!

Gentle Winds is ideally situated, close to points of interest, restaurants and shopping. It has one of the nicest beaches and is in one of the loveliest areas of the island, the beautiful North Shore .
C-1 is a spacious end unit, freshly decorated and has a bright, light, cheerful tropical decor.

C-1 is special because it is an end unit with a garden room which gives it an expansive feel. It also has a little patio as well as a screened porch (known as a 'gallery' locally) accessible from the living room and the master bedroom. With only nine buildings and a total of 66 units, there is a neighborly atmosphere and every one is friendly yet there is a sense of privacy.
