Beautiful views. Inside was clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay. Outside had a lot of spider webs and spiders on the deck, furniture and hot tub. Overall it’s a very nice property.

House was not maintained that well. Scribbling on the walls, dirty carpets, banged up pots and pans, poor quality towels that were actually not clean when we got there and had to do our own laundry. Hot tub was slightly dirty but could not use because we could not get it to come up to temperature.Dock did not have a ladder.

Family weekend

The property is ideal for two families, ample space for independence and privacy as well big enough for shared family meals together. Hot tub was a great for snow weather. Serene lake views. Close to nearest town. Ample supply of towels and detergents.

Communication: I emailed the host several times and responses were limited or nonexistent. Host would pick and choose what questions were answered. While at the property, I messaged stating that the WiFi did not work and got no response.Lake access: to get into the water, you need to climb down a broken sea wall. I emailed asking if there was a ladder and did not get a response. There were broken rocks and rebar sticking out in places. Also no ladder in the dock. This is an easy fix and a necessity for a lake house. Cleanliness: 6 towels were left for 6 people to shower and to dry off from going in the lake. No towels were left in the kitchen to do dishes. Walls are dirty and drawn all over in the bedroom. The couch is so worn cotton is coming out of the seams. I went to look for more towels and needed to wash and dry towels on my own the first night there to have towels to get through the weekend. The sponge left in the kitchen smelled so badly we needed to throw it away and go buy new sponges. Screens appeared to be cut on entrance and both screens on the sliders were ripped/torn. Fire pit: there is not a fire pit, there is a table with a fire feature. This was disappointing as we enjoy sitting by the fire during the evening.

We were looking for a place for 6 close to the Syracuse area (with all local hotels being sold out for family weekend). This house was a perfect choice. It was about a 20-25 minute ride from campus, located in a very quiet neighborhood right on Oneida Lake. Extremely picturesque setting, with great views of the lake and a perfect vantage point for watching the sunrise. The house itself is configured as two potential rentals with an upstairs and downstairs each complete with a full kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and large living and dining room areas. Each also has a back porch (though of course the upper one is smaller, with the bottom being the full deck with access to the hot tub, fire pit, and grill. While we didn't use any of those, it was nice that the options were there).The kitchen areas were well stocked with supplies, all the appliances worked as one would expect, and the bathrooms were clean and functional. The bedrooms were good sized and the beds comfortable. Rooms were quiet, with little to no outside noise. The main bedroom in the downstairs was somewhat tall, which posed a challenge for my 70 year old mother to get into/out of, but it was easier than using the stairs up/down to the top apartment. The second bedroom on the first floor has a bunk, with a larger full-size bed underneath, and a smaller twin on top. Would 100% rent this again for future journeys to SU.
