There are some reatauramts and stores you can walk to, but the neighborhood was a bit rough. There's a big back yard but its not very useable becausr there are two large piles of tree brances amd leaves.

Perfect for our family

Sally's house is situated in a sweet little neighborhood that felt like a quiet enclave in a busy part of town. We had easy access to coffee shops, restaurants, shopping and downtown. There was plenty of space for us to sleep. We enjoyed the screened in porch and watching the grackles gather their nesting materials in the big back yard. And so many birds to listen to! Thanks, Sally, for a lovely visit.

Would stay again!

I live in town, but we rented the house for a girls' retreat weekend. There was plenty of space for all 10 of us. The house was clean and kitchen well-stocked. We didn't use the backyard, but it was large, grassy & nice. We had one problem with the disposal in the kitchen sink. Sally responded to my call quickly and had a plumber out that day to fix it.

should have been perfect.

The house itself is nice. Clean and has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. Couches comfortable and nice general setup. Kitchen is stocked well enough For a week stay for general cooking. The bathroom are clean and function well with nice towels. The downside. Noisy dishwasher... I mean rattle the walls noisy. Though once we figured that out we ran it as we left For the day. So not a probelm. There is a solar light placed right in front of the tv. So no watching tv during the day during downtone. It glares right on the screen. Great idea...super horrible placement. Then lastly the master bedroom full of spiders. Not one or two but....we left with over 20 bites over two people. Seriously gross. The final and worst part...which is not their fault. The neighbors dog Barks all night. No seriously ALL night. Gets the other dogs going so three dogs barking all night. I am exhausted. And then had to drive 11 hours on little to no sleep. I love dogs but oh my goodness. All night long. No music could drown it out. He quit about 6am. So I figure his owner must work all night.

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you stay was not perfect, but do strive for this for our guests. Thank you for pointing out the dishwasher, this is our first dishwasher complaint and will have this looked at and adjusted as necessary. The solar lights help our environment and use less electricity in the home. We will look into getting a shade for the lights for folks that do not enjoy natural lighting. Regarding the spiders…. I am so so very sorry to hear this! We have the home exterminated annually and sometime twice a year as warranted. I wish you would have contacted me, I would have moved you and your family to a different property given the circumstances. Again, thank you for your input and review.

It is located in old neighborhood with Sketchy neighbors. Dogs barking all night. Dirty light fixtures with burnt out lights. Needs more supplies. No Kleenex, poor quality pillows. Yards had piled up leaves, broken yard fixtures.

I had a great stay at this home. It was our first time visiting TX and the location was fantastic. We were within 5 minutes of local restaraunts and stores which made it very convenient. The house was clean and very cute. Sally was also very quick to respond when I had questions. Would highly recommend!

Great home inside, a little less outside

The house is a very nice home, very clean, well furnished and renovated, and very well laid out. The owners are extremely nice people and great to work with. The house has a good size yard in the back and friendly neighbors. While there is nothing within walking distance to see or do, a short car ride gets you where you need to go. In a better neighborhood this would be a fantastic property.

Cost-effective, spacious alternative to downtown

This funky 1950's ranch has been tastefully renovated/updated and comfortably furnished. We got a lot of use out of the huge gas grill and ate practically every meal on the wonderful screened-in porch. We particularly appreciated Sally going to the extra effort to get the house ready earlier than her standard check-in time on the day we arrived, after we had to wake up at 4 am that morning for 2 long flights! We planned our Austin trip before we realized that the X Games were in town the same week---many rental property owners seemed to be taken by surprise as well: Downtown-area rentals seemed to double in price overnight (in two cases, not until I had tried to reserve at their published rates...). This house was a cost-effective alternative, as long as you have a car -- it's a little further out but in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to main roads/highways. The only (very minor) suggestions I'd make are to consider updating the kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors and hardware -- some of the painted doors don't close all the way and they look dated compared to the rest of the new renovation; and mowing the lawn more frequently -- perhaps it had rained more than usual recently, but the lawn was looking a little raggedy by midweek.

Marginal location, but great landlords.

Location of this rental is marginal, but the landlords are great. We had a power outage in mid-rental due to a storm knocking a tree down next door which took out our power pole/line. Our landlords stepped in immediately and made a good alternative rental available to us. The back screened-in porch/patio is really pleasant. And everything was sparkling clean and reasonable well stocked. But the overall condition of the property is pretty dated.

Great experience!

Sally was so great to work with and made our Austin vacation a worry-free and much more affordable one! We saved so much money by staying here rather than paying for hotel rooms and having to be separated most of the weekend. The only thing I would recommend: more mirrors! Thank you!! Will definitely go to her in the future and would recommend to others!

Super Property! Will be back!

Super Property! My 4 buddies and I visited Austin for a guys weekend! The house was stocked with everything we needed. There is a huge gas grill that we used several times as well as the Horseshoe set in the back yard. The home is close to UT and we hit some trendy bars and restaurants all within 10 minutes from the home. The home had cable TV, so we were able to watch FOOTBALL! We each had our own bed, so there was no doubling up! 3 beds in the bedroom and the other 2 guys slept on the large sleeper sofa in the living area. Great price for all you are getting. So much better and less expensive than a hotel!

The house was adorable & fit our needs exactly. Thank you for warm welcome, the conveniences in the home & the farewell. It was cozy, clean & comfortable. I'm so used to staying in hotels room when I travel but will stay in this home whenever I'm back in Austin. Thank you again.

Better than a hotel!

Location was great. Plenty of parking, easy access to the highway, clean home, great layout. Loved that I was able to do laundry unexpectedly. Will be staying here in my future visits to Austin. Thanks Sally!
