About the property

Lakefront Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeper Sofa, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

Max's Lakeside Cabin is a fantastic getaway spot on the shores of beautiful Lake Lure. Comfortable and lovely, the living space of this waterfront cabin is enhanced by a beautiful deck that has a wonderful, westward view of the lake, sunsets, and surrounding mountains. The cabin sits on a cool, shaded lot on the eastern end of the lake in a nice quiet, no-wake cove just a short canoe ride away from the main channel and views of spectacular Rumbling Bald Mountain. You can even paddle to one of several lake front restaurants. The property includes a boathouse with a deck for sunning, a dock for swimming, and a canoe for exploring the contours of the lake. The cabin has just the right balance of comfort and convenience. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room. New stainless steel appliances and the open kitchen/living room area make cooking, eating and watching movies a pleasure.

We had the best time!

My husband and I had a relaxing couple of days before we went to pick up our daughter. We canoed to the restaurant and swam and just hung out. Our little dog was a swimming fool she was right there in the water with us. Thank you again for letting us bring her.

When we picked up our daughter and brought her back she exclaimed, 'This is the best hotel ever.' She also was able to canoe and swim with our dog. We rented a boat and explored the lake. It is so beautiful.

We all agreed that we will definitely come back next year. Next time, though, we'll try to stay much longer.

We had fabulous time!! The cabin was so large and homey. You have thought of every thing we could of needed. We will definitely recommend your cabin to our family and friends. Thanks again for helping us have a wonderful vacation!

Incredibly well maintained stylish lake house.

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect spot for our family to spend an awesome week on lake lure. The house was stylish yet comfortable, situated on the most desirable cove on the lake. Hours of enjoyment, fishing, utilizing the row boat or just floating on the lake. It was nice to let my kids walk down to the boat house to play or fish while I could watch them from the decks on the boat house or the house. We found ourselves calling the house a cabin since it had that cozy feel, which made it really easy to relax. Hope to be back next summer for our family vacation.

peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to Max's Lakeside Cabin, and it has gotten even better. The cabin offers everything you need: a lake view from the house and deck, comfortable furnishings, and a great kitchen to cook in. There's a boathouse with a canoe, plenty of movies to watch, books to read, and interesting art on the walls. The sunlight comes in the house in the late afternoon to illuminate your food preparations.

Like before, we left the windows open to catch the breezes and hear the ducks calling across the lake. It was so relaxing we didn't want to leave. Highly recommended!

PERFECT GETAWAY Amidst the Dogwoods

  • 5 of 5

Just finished maybe our 3rd or 4th visit to Max's house. We keep going back every Spring break. This year my son could jump from the top deck into the water and we enjoyed the new snazzy row boat with lumbar support and freshly painted decks. Easy put in for paddle boarders too! This is the kind of house you stay in to get some distance from the world and cast your dreams out to the lake. There is a nice flock of loons that seem to live just across the cove by the bridge, they are there year after year. Whenever we finish a long row or paddle we look for the little blue house, up on the hill, the one that sits just far enough away from the water to give us a bit of privacy but has perfect open deck/dock access to the water. Always clean and just right, always just enough, humbly stated but perfectly functional with many floating options for everyone in the boat house. The little cove it sits on has a nice private feeling for the swimming area and it is nice and clean.

The house layout is perfect for being with those you love, very open from the kitchen to the family room. My boyfriend ended up purchasing one of those ductless HVAC systems from the cabin for his studio, we were impressed it worked so well at Max's House and this Spring it could handle the extreme temps in either direction easily. We now know the lake better this year and after seeing all the other homes, we are always happy to come back to the perfect view high up in the dogwoods and do some daydreaming on the back porch while we barbecue. The sun sets just across the lake and the whole house seems to point to it. Just enough of everything but especially some peace and quiet with charm. The walls hold some wonderful prints which is always hard to find. Max's house is the humble blue Gem of Lake Lure.

Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Not as it looks like in the photos. The AC system does not cool the whole house or even the living room. Thank goodness the people we invited to come stay in the second bedroom could not come because there was zero air conditioning in there and smelled musty. No room to even put a suitcase. Bugs everywhere! Even in the shower there were critters! Towels were stained and musty and not enough towels. We left early it was so bad. Hand wash everything so you never knew how well they were cleaned - did people before us wash or just rinse? Crappy to say the least.

Idyllic setting - peace, and charm

  • 4 of 5

We stayed a full week, of which there was more clouds and rain than sun, and we had coughs and colds, but decided that if we were to burn PTO being sick it might as well be somewhere as serene and beautiful as Max's. Location on the lake is about perfect, not too far into a cove with views out toward the main lake, not far away from the town, and only 5 minutes from Ingalls - a surprisingly GOOD grocery store, with large produce section and even an extensive olive/mediterranean bar. We probably coughed and canoed 90% of the lake, and mustered the energy on the last day for a hike to Party Rock - believe the rating of strenuous, but also believe the description of best year round view of Lake Lure. (Be very careful with children and pets once up there.) Kitchen had everything needed and being part of the living area made it a pleasure for food prep. We are used to a more supportive mattress but still got good nights sleep. The shower is small but the pressure was good and the water hot! We have already shared the link to Max's with several friends who are considering vacation options.

Nice Cabin, Great View

Nice cabin and we loved the view. It was our first trip to Lake Lure and we enjoyed our stay. Very relaxing. Alice was very accommodating and great to work with. Be sure to check out Larkin's on the Lake, the food was terrific.
