Beautiful house, short walk to the beach

Sizzlin' Sands offers views of both the ocean and the Wright Brother National Monument. Relax on the covered porches and sun decks or shoot a game of pool in the spacious game room. An open floor plan provides ample room for great family gatherings. All rooms have ceiling fans. The king master bedroom has two large closets, a desk, a master bathroom and sliding glass doors opening onto the upper deck. Two queen bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom. The bunk room has two sets of bunk beds. There is a second family room with a pull-down Murphy bed. Sizzlin' Sands has wireless internet connectivity, flat screen TVs and Blu-ray DVD players. The beach is only 1000 feet away and this house is located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills with many of dining and entertainment options only minutes away. There is a washer and dryer,outdoor grill, and tables, chairs and loungers around the pool. A great place to gather and enjoy your vacation!

Great week at Kill Devil Hills

We all enjoyed the property, especially the pool. We had great weather all though it was very hot and humid. The house was perfect for our family. I would rent this house again. The owner was very responsive to our reguets.

Great OBX Vacation

We had a great vacation. The house had plenty of room and we really enjoyed our pool time. The house is in a great location. It’s a quick walk to the beach. Plenty of activities within a few minutes drive.

Great Stay at OBX

Had a wonderful trip to Janet's property in Nags Head. EXCELLENT location and property was outstanding. Hopefully will be a repeat booking as soon as we can plan another trip. DO NOT HESITATE to book this property if you are planning on a trip out to the OBX.

Fantastic Weekend Away

Relaxing Family Vacation

This was one of the most relaxing vacations my family has had in a long time. The house was very clean and spacious for our 9 family members 7 Adults and 2 kids. It’s in a great area quiet but still surrounded by things to do. A very short walk to the beach and a very nice private pool. My family and I enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend staying here. We will be back in the near future.

Fun beach house close to the beach and a lot of things to do

The property was great and we had a fun family vacation. Just a short walk to the beach and the beach access seemed to be at a Less crowded spot of the beach which was nice. Was fun hanging by the pool in the afternoon and property also had a pool table to use. The property was within a 5 -10 minute drive of a lot of things to do and a lot of different restaurants and a few breweries. Great location. Overall a great property for a week at the outer banks with friends or family.

Great vacay at OBX

The house was as listed. We had a problem with the AC but a service technician was called and it was repaired ASAP. Enough quiet spaces and group spaces that our 3 generations were able to vacation well together.

Great house for a mini vacation!!

We stayed in this house for spring break and it was perfect. Very clean and plenty of room. The house was stocked with plenty of dishes and pots. The kids enjoyed the pool room and the bunk beds. We didn’t have access to the pool because it wasn’t clean yet for the season but the beach was a 2-3 min walk away. There’s even a basketball goal outside with a ball that my son and nephew enjoyed as well. We enjoyed everything about it. We will definitely be looking to book here again for our next visit and I’ve already started referring it to others planning to visit the Outer Banks!

A week at the beach

The location is a short 1 1/2 blocks to the beach. Overall the house fit our family of 5 Adults and 3 grandkids well. On arrival a lot of hair was on the shower wall of the master bathroom. Shoes and 2 pair of underwear were left in the dresser drawer. The dishwasher still had several dirty dishes. Only the TV in the upstairs living room worked. The owner did authorize us to buy a Ruko stick for another TV. Overall we did enjoy our stay. The location is a plus.

We had an amazing family vacation! The house is spacious and beautiful! We played pool every night! But the star of the show is all the decks to watch the sunrises and sets! And that pool!hope your lucky and get to meet the pool girl! Super at giving info on where to eat and go!We spent a lot of time all around the pool when we weren’t at the ocean! Super easy to walk to! Go crabbing at night! Jockey park is a must see! We flew kites and went hang gliding! Turtle hospital is cool too! Fresh seafood market close! Thanks so much! It was great! You do however need your own wagon and beach chairs!and cooler!

Perfect vacation home

My family has stayed here twice now for a week each time and love it. It's the only house we want to rent every year from now on. House is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. More than enough dishes, glasses, silverware, storage containers, pots/pans, etc. Beds are very comfortable, spacious rooms, enough bathrooms. The Murphy bed sleeps great and the den on the 2nd floor is so cute. We had several days of rain while there recently, but there's plenty of things to do. Game room with pool table downstairs and mini frig is great. Pool is great and only a short walk to the beach. View of the Wright Brothers' Memorial from front porches. Porches were perfect places to have morning coffee. Plenty of chairs on porches and around pool. You don't need to bring anything extra. I highly recommend this house for everyone!

Nice, But

Our family enjoyed our stay at this property... plenty of space for everyone! The amenities were a definite plus for us. We did need to purchase a pool ball rack for the billiard table, which was missing😔 Overall the cleaning of the home could be stepped up a bit, especially in the kitchen area. Also a Keurig coffee maker would be a nice second option. There were a few safety concerns such as loose and missing railings and the pool ladder was loose as well. I also noticed what was definitely slobber on some of the living room pillows... new pillows or washable pillow covers are recommended. We would possibly consider booking this property in the future, we'll see.

Could be cleaner, but honest property listing and great owner communication.

Our check in was a little confusing because check-in instructions were a downloadable sheet, however our signal or some other issue prevented it from downloading. We simply put a call into the number listed and owner immediately picked up and gave us access instructions to the property. Pre-arrival it was SUPER appreciated that we received a reminder message about bringing our own linens (bed sheets/towels etc.). Upon arrival and inspection of the property it was very nice, AC seemed to be working well, but there was definitely some cleanliness issues - bathmats soaked, shower drains had hair, underneath furniture was truly filthy and had food, behind beds were snack/food wrappers. Return vent in kitchen was very clogged and warped and it caused the air system to have to work harder and we got humidity warnings on the control unit. Owner was informed of the issues and responded that they would be handled next week when a family member would stay at the property. Overall the convenience to the beach/beach access was a huge plus. The pool was lovely (but needed water everyday b/c of cracks) which we were informed of upon arrival. We really enjoyed our stay and felt the property was well stocked with kitchenware and all appliances worked as they should. Only major complaint was truly cleanliness, which is a recurring theme with many beach rentals unfortunately.

Beautiful house, poor service

PROS: The house is beautiful and spacious, located just minutes from the beach. We enjoyed the two bikes available at the house. The decor is very beachy and tasteful. The girls enjoyed the backyard pool. CONS: The house felt unwelcoming. There were no bedding linens, no bath or beach towels, no kitchen towels, no essential supplies (laundry pods, paper towel, etc.). The listing does not mention that the guests should bring their own bedding linens or towels. This information was contained in a check-in email which arrived the day of our check-in when we were already on the road. After paying over $1,300 for two days, we were left with bare beds (a protective mattress cover on one of them had a fresh stain) and zero towels, so I started my vacation with a shopping trip to get the basics. There were puddles of water in the kitchen tile and some hair in one of the bathrooms, When I messaged the property manager asking about towels and voicing my concerns, she rudely suggested I either "enjoy the house or check out" immediately. We felt unwelcome in the house. Even through the place is nicely decorated and is sitting in a great neighborhood, we will take our business someplace else next year. I was unpleasantly surprised and disappointed at the interaction with the property manager after all the glowing reviews this house got. If you plan to book this place, make sure to bring all the essentials (linens, bath towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, laundry supplies, etc.)!

Sizzlin Spot in Kitty Hawk

This was out third year vacationing at this home and it is absolutley beautiful. Unfortunatly, due to my husbands health, we will be moving on to a house that has an elevator to make it easier for him to get around. I would highly reccomend this home. Very clean, beautiful, has everything you could possible need. Pool is a plus for our family. It is always great to come back to the pool after a long day at the beach. I hope the future families that rent this property enjoy it as much as our family has.

We love the Outer Banks! Our family has been vacationing here for over 30 years. Now that our children have grown and have their own families, we still try to vacation here at least one week in the summer. We walk, bike, jeep ride on the beach and play games in the street! We look forward to sharing our little paradise with you!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this big white house one day when we were walking by. We had been vacationing around the corner for years. The proximity to the beach, the decks, the pool and the perfect location sold us!

What makes this property unique

We love hanging out on the porch in the morning with coffee, watching the sun rise over the ocean. There is a general store a block away that has everything, food, sandwiches, wine, flip flops, sunglasses, ice and gas!
