Fabulous Salinas Oceanfront Penthouse Suite

Your own penthouse suite while on vacation right in the middle of the malecon/ boardwalk.

This 8th floor penthouse suite was completely remodeled with everything built as close to us/ Canadian standards as is possible in Ecuador. The high quality design and construction supervision was performed by USA licensed architect and a USA interior designer.

The suite has everything you will need for your stay, just bring your clothes and bathing suit!

There are unobstructed views to mar bravo (angry sea) on the south coast of Salinas and focused views of Salinas bay, malecon (boardwalk) and beach from your living room and terrace.

The beach is right across the street and you can hear the waves from your suite.

Jet skis, paddle boards, water ski, banana boat, whale watching are available just down the malecon from your casa.

The suite is well appointed with ceiling fans and separate ac units for the bedroom and the main living room for your comfort.

Direct TV and WiFi for internet access provided at no cost. All utilities are included in the cost with no additional charges.

LED TV's with DVD players are provided in the main living room and the bedroom for your viewing pleasure.

A separate desk provided for use for your laptop.

Local cell phone is provided with approximately $10 of minutes for your use.

Laundry service can be arranged for additional cost.

A security guard is on premises in lobby.

Parking space provided if needed in the garage adjacent to building although transportation by taxi and bus is easy and inexpensive.

Airport pickup by English and Spanish speaking driver can be arranged at additional cost.

Bookings are restricted to approximately 6 week maximum per customer during high season Dec. 1 - April 31.

I had an amazing stay..Property owners were polite, friendly and welcoming. The property is cleaned above average standards . Building is cleaned and safe and conveniently located.. I recommend the property for any one that ones to feel safe and welcomed.

James was a fabulous host and very detailed with everything from how to catch a bus from Guayaquil to where to get off and catch a taxi to the apartment. We had all the amenities needed and directions to the local Mercado, grocery stores, laundry service, mall, eateries, etc. The apartment was smaller and cozy with a view of harbor and worked out great for our 2-week stay. Highly recommend James as a host.

Best place you will ever stay

This was by far and away the best vrbo that I've ever seen. The place itself was perfect and the hospitality from the hosts was extraordinary. Everything a person could think of is covered completely,from arranging my ride from Guayaquil Airport to a list of restaurants and activities and the expected prices for goods and services. Absolutely the perfect soft landing for a first time traveler in Ecuador.

Great Location with great owners

We loved our stay in Salinas.....the condo was well appointed/clean/ comfortable and located right where you want to be. Corresponded with James many times and always got quick replies to my questions. Don't hesitate to rent here....you will love Salinas and the condo. We will return to Salinas sometime soon.....

We had a great experience with this rental property! It had a great view of the ocean and was perfect for two people. The beach was just across the street and there were lots of restaurants and shops. James and Cecilia were excellent hosts and made everything easy. The property was well stocked with towels, hangers, kitchen items, etc. We would definitely rent this property again!

Splendid experience

Nice clean safe building in an ideal area to experience Salinas beachfront malecon. Hosts were friendly, accommodating yet gives you space. The booklet was very detailed, I really appreciated the city bus line info which is not readily available anywhere, as well as taxi rates and surrounding restaurants and groceries. Apartment is a true one bedroom and comes with everything you need.

If I could I would give this property 6 stars. It was perfection. Clean , well appointed, tasteful with all the comforts of home. The balcony provided a view of the ocean and beach as well as the ocean and fabulous sunsets from the other side— it’s on the point. The host James and his partner were kind, helpful and a pleasure to know. My month long stay was perfect in every way.

The apartment has amazing views of the water on the Pacific side and east side where there is another bay. It’s clean and is well stocked (toilet paper, bottled water, cell phone for emergency use)

Great Beach Getaway!

James and Cecelia were fantastic hosts, great communication, easy to work with and the place is great. Fully equipped, great balcony, right on the beach, close grocery store, lots of restaurants to walk to. Wonderful experience, we plan to stay again soon!

Exceeded Expectation!

This penthouse condo was everything we hoped it would be. Very clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and safe. The queen bed is very comfortable. I had plenty of space to do my morning yoga routine. James and Cecilia were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I really like the vibe in Salinas. This town is a beautiful beach vacation destination. Weekends get very busy and noisy. We were aware of this so we were not surprised or disappointed. Ear plugs came in handy on Friday and Saturday nights. I highly recommend James and Cecilia’s penthouse condo and I hope to return some day.

Perfect Location

Apartment was central to everything. Very clean, very comfortable. Perfect size for 1 ir 2 people. The bed was so comfortable, even the weekend noise didn't disturb my sleep. Great, hot, rain shower. Having owner James near by with his sweet dog Ralph was very convenient. He was very nice and very helpful with everything. I would definitely return!

Perfect beach vacation!

James and Cecelia are awesome hosts. They are very friendly, answered all of my questions and provided great recommendations. The penthouse condo is the perfect size for 1-2 people. Everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. The condo is located in the heart of the Malecon with nice views of the beach/Salinas Bay as well as nice breezes from the balcony. Sunset views from the balcony was a bonus.

Lovely apartment just steps to the beach

Every night at 6 we would sit on our balcony, wine in hand and watch the sunset into the ocean, a favourite part of our day. Our apartment met all our needs, comfortable bed, good closet space, a kitchenette that was well equipped, lounge area and great shower in the bathroom. The area is perfect for Salinas Beach and Pepepe Beach just a short walk away. There are many restaurants in the area and a decent sized grocery store nearby. Our hosts were an important part of helping us obtain transport from the airport, shopping orientation, even finding us an English speaking doctor and accompanying us there for the appointment. If you are looking for a great place for a long or short term stay this is one we can highly recommend.

Great Views

A comfy little apartment 90 seconds from the beach. Handy to a wide variety of restaurants and a more than adequate supermarket. Easy walk to laundry where the price to have your wash done and folded is less than if you took it to a self-serve in the States. A very active place for night life activities so, if you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs or use the ones that James Flannery provides especially on Friday and Saturday nights. James, Celia, and Ralph were all great hosts and took care of any needs that may have arisen. The airport transport from Guayquil that James suggests is a superb option. The facilities in the apartment--shower, bed, closet space, kitchen, kitchen supplies--were more than ample to make one truly comfortable.

Our Favorite Vacation Rental

We enjoyed staying in this condo for a month because of its location, space, security, internet reliability, and especially the owners. Being on the top floor in a corner unit, across from the beach and within easy walking distances to the best restaurants, made this condo a perfect location. Also, we could see both sides of the peninsula. From the balcony, we saw whales feeding. This very clean and well-maintained space was brilliantly designed to maximize space and light. The chic and comfortable furniture accentuated the design and was sufficient for our need as a couple. We (mostly husband) particularly enjoyed the recliner and ottoman. The essentials in the kitchen and bathroom exceeded our expectations in quantity, quality, and variety. Even beach towels, small cooler (what a pleasant surprise), and cellphone were provided. The bedroom was spacious with built-in closets, which had lots of hangers, and built-in drawers. The desk was a bonus. The bedding and linen were of good quality with extras available! We always felt safe, and the ever vigilant doorman added to this feel. The internet was reliable and speedy. As world travelers, vacation rentals are our primary housing choice. Most owners follow a basic model. James and Cecelia are very speciall. As guests, we always felt our happiness was paramount. James arranged for us to be picked up from the Guayaquil airport by Viktor (an excellent driver and spontaneous guide) for our two-hour ride to Salinas. Also, they arranged for a nail tech to come to the condo, made a massage appointment (walked wife to location), suggested a three-night trip to Montanita and Puerto Lopez including where to stay and eat - all excellent recommendations!! Our orientation was thorough. Thanks James for your patience. Let's not forget Ralph. One look at this dog, and you will want to become a pet owner. We highly recommend renting this condo.

Fantastic get away!

Wonderful Stay James and his wife, are the perfect host! The apartment, was perfect for all our needs! As James, provide all the things and more to make a perfect get away. The apartment has air conditioning in both rooms, flat panels TV in both rooms, a full kitchen, and a nice living room. We received a warm welcome from the host and a wonderful memories. We love to go back to stay with them! This is a perfect place to stay for a long time.We recommend to anyone that like to be pamper!

We 'retired' in August of 2012 and moved to Salinas Ecuador in October 2012 from Oakland California. We have lived here for over 6 years.

I am a retired architect and Cecilia a retired admin hospital assistant. We have several vacation rentals that we manage in Salinas, Ecuador and the Riviera Maya in Mexico which keeps us as busy as we would like.

Cecilia volunteers to the Salinas Red Cross and volunteers to teach English to local Ecuadorian vendors, police etc. in Salinas.

We purchased the complete floor of a penthouse condo which we completely gutted and remodeled in 2013. The rental suite is on one end of the penthouse floor.

The weather and swimming is great in Salinas and friends are easy to make. Shorts, t-shirts and flipflops are our attire most of the year. We think you will enjoy your stay here.
