Family retreat

I was extremely pleased with our stay at Ed’s villa. He was always responsive to questions before and after booking and gave great instructions. Upon arrival Ruth the manager was there to receive us and show everything. She went to the store for us because we were arriving late and even arranged for a local chef to come to cook for us on the first day. She was always available to answer questions and give me advice when I needed help to find something locally. The house had everything you needed to enjoy all your activities on the property. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to detach from the busy of life and enjoy some tranquility for a while. They were great hosts and we didn’t have to worry about anything (except mosquitoes, definitely bring repellent)

A WHALE of a time!

We had an amazing, comfortable & quiet week at Casa (Villa?) Maryna.Well equipped, AC throughout but with beautiful breeze off the ocwean we never had occasion to use it. Used 3 of the bedrooms and all were happy with their matresses and pillows. Lots of bathroom and beach/pool towels. A short walk over to the beach that is accessed through the enclosed compound (24 hr controlled gate and night grounds security), about a 5 minute walk at most. A little beach hut bar there where we all had the best pina coladas of the trip.Manager Ruth spoke prfect english and was only a WhatsApp call or message away. Rest of the staff we met were also happy, friendly & helpful.I'd suggest a car if you go as there's not much for groceries or restaurants within walkable distance.Highly recommended!

Spring Break Getaway

When I initially booked this trip, never in my wildest imagination did I think our experience would turn out the way that it did. The day we were due to arrive our flight canceled after numerous issues. I was in communication with both Ed and Ruth the entire time. Ed was able to extend our vacation one day based on availability at no additional charge and Ruth remained available to make sure that we were able to get in when we did arrive the following day at midnight. She did some basic grocery shopping for us and provided a meal for us. When we arrived, she did a full walk-through, again at midnight, and explained everything to us. Continuing on the adventures of the arrival, our luggage did not arrive. Ruth took the time to take us shopping both for clothes and food the next day and acted as an interpreter. There are no words to describe the experience that we had with Ruth. She is a godsend and we were so grateful to have her with us. The location, the amenities and the people in the cove were all amazing. We took advantage of having come Maritza come to cook for us. We also had Naomi come and do massages. The beach experience is absolutely gorgeous. Our house and pool were a dream. Making the decision to not stay at a resort was the best decision we could’ve ever made. we did rent a car and drove ourselves. The town of Samaná is wonderful. We felt welcomed and there is so much to do! Best decision ever.

Villa Maryna

Our family of five had a great time at the villa. This home is perfectly positioned between big waves crashing on rocks on one side and a calm quiet beach on the other. We enjoyed hanging out on the grounds more than anything. The house has more than enough room for our family the kitchen is well equipped. The pool was kept clean and is a peaceful place to lounge. Samana is an easy 25 minute drive for plenty of restaurants and departure points for excursions. Communication with staff was easy and prompt. Katia and her dog were very pleasant and helpful. We will plan to return.

Paradise

Ed and Katia were exceptional. Went over and beyond to accommodate our needs and expectations. They were very responsive and they were always available to answer any questions or assist with help. Wonderful and happy memories were made and shared in this beautiful home. Highly recommend and will be back! Thank you Ed and Katia!

Dominican Republic oasis

This was exactly what my family needed!! This was a special occasion for us and we wanted to go somewhere to relax. The house was perfect for the whole family. Relaxing by the pool or walking down the driveway to chill on the beach. Not to mention watching humpback whales jumping out of the water right behind the house!!! Taking a trip during covid is very stressful but Ed was in constant contact with us before the trip so we were prepared for everything. We didn't want to leave the property very much to go to restaurants because of covid19 so we decided to have the private chef for most of the meals. The food was absolutely amazing. Maritza and Ruth were very talented chefs. They went to the market every day to see what was fresh and cooked us every meal from scratch!! Ruth the property manager was there for our every need. She made the trip very special and as stress free as possible. I would highly recommend visiting this area of DR. It's a little out of the way but it adds to the charm.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL view!

This was the perfect vacation home for two familes with adult children. 5 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms gave everyone time away when they needed it. The location is a bit remote, but they arranged for us to have a van and driver at a very reasonable rate.We really enjoyed the local fruit and vegetables & the grocery store in Samana (as well as supplies at the house) had everything we needed. Only "issue" was we didn't bring enough cash -- using credit cards isn't convenient, and not available in many places -- including restaurants.The property manager helped us schedule great tours, and the others on the property were very nice. Highly recommend!
