Cabin was clean and stocked with all necessities. It was our first time in the finger lake region and it was beautiful. We took couple of day trips and can’t wait for a return visit.
Our stay at the Birdhouse was very secluded. Off grid camping, we throughly enjoyed the lack of noise pollution. Surreal and peaceful, much needed to recharge our own batteries
This is our second stay this year and just requested a booking for next June. We love the location. It's peaceful, beautiful and relaxing: a place to truly decompress. Great places to hike in the area, and, of course, fantastic wineries and breweries.

We had a really great time there! We loved the fire pit and the quiet nights.
Dave is a great host and was sure we had everything we needed.
Definitely will recommend this cute cabin to friends and family.
We love the Birdhouse! Quiet , private, and tucked away, but also easy access to beer, wine, and so much kayaking. Dave is a treasure.
We will be back!
Amazing experience! He was so responsive and great!! Would definitely return, great getaway with plenty to do around the area. The cabin was adorable and we had an amazing time!
This was a great getaway for christmas, the cabins are rustic with limited electric and no plumbing, but Dave has done a great job insuring that the outhouse is clean and there is adequate lighting. The property is gorgeous for the winter and Dave was very helpful and easy to reach with any needs. Would stay again.

My hardiest guests ever! Showed up after dark, raining, snow , Christmas eve after a long drive. yuk yuk. Fired up the heater, by the time i got down the next morning to check on them they had a fire going outside with there well behaved doggie. 5 star guests right there...
The Bird House is the perfect place for peace and quiet.
Dave, the owner, answered all of my questions and made an excellent effort concerning our visit.
I highly recommend the Bird House to future guests who are fond of nature, peace, quiet, and a clean cottage in the forest.

Thank you for leaving this place so nice. I dont think you even left footprints!
It was peaceful and relaxing. We stayed for 2 nights and I was sad to leave. The owner supplied me with firewood and plenty of water. The bird house was very clean with a rich history. I was glad to have picked such a retreat. I would love to go back.

Great quiet spot to set base camp
Rented the cabin for a birthday getaway for my girlfriend. Breweries, winery's and distillerys all close/on the way to Hammondsport. Dave had the cabin well prepared for our arrival and was easy to contact with questions. Would definitely come back

Paul,
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for leaving the place so nice. The maid ( my wife Joann) loves it when guests are so diligent about leaving the place as they found it and then some!
Come back soon!
Dave
Clean and quiet cabin in the forest for those who want to relax, hike, and sit by the campfire.
The description of the cabin, Harvest Moon, is accurate. The owner is very helpful, answers your questions, and makes a good effort to see that you have a good experience.

So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for leaving the place so nice. Must be that US Navy experience. Thanks again for your service!
Thank you for a nice, little get away. Everything we needed for a long weekend. Lovely location! (One note: if you plan on boiling noodles or making something like oatmeal, be sure to pack a pot of your own to cook in. There are a couple of cast iron pans in the cabin, but no other cooking pots.)

Everything about this property was absolutely perfect. Dave and his wife provided absolutely everything we needed for our stay, aside from a few basic things that he said we needed to bring. The walk really wasnt that far from the parking to the cabin. We stayed warm despite staying during a cold rainy weekend. The location and relative remoteness was ideal for my stay!

Dave is beyond helpful, and had an excellent stay. He cares that his guests are safe and comfortable, and having a good time. Property is beautiful, especially in the fall, and you can completely get away from everything if you want to. I will definitely be back! Thank you Dave!

Samantha,
Thank you for the kind words. You didn’t let a little fall weather get in your way! Thank you for leaving the place so nice. Come back soon.

Our host was a great communicator! He and his wife thought of everything you might have forgotten you will need and supplies were tucked away in the cabinet and chest within the cabin. The cabin itself was cozy and stocked with everything to make an off the grid stay top notch! It was a beautiful 40 minute drive to Watkins Glen from the cabin. We have already recommended the property to all our friends and family!
Dave was great! He was very responsive with any questions and suggestions for things to do in the area. We actually got upgraded to a different cabin near Hammondsport. The cabin was amazing with some basics there for us to use including a heater, French press, grill, and utensils/pots/pans. We had a great time and Dave was a great host. Would highly recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Dave Hopkins
We were born and raised in the Finger Lakes area. We have over half a century of the knowledge of what this area has to offer. Keuka Cabins originally started as a place to spend time with our four children. Our family found joy in the simplicity of a slower pace of life and time to reconnect. We started hosting guests over a decade ago. It quickly became our passion to share our appreciation of nature.
Why they chose this property
Although purchased as a future home site for my wife and I, we soon realized the cost of running electric, running water etc. combined with four kids in college was unrealistic at this time. We have found such little things as pressing your coffee with water heated over open flame, as opposed to your Kuerig machine is a small price to pay for enjoying the peace and quiet. With todays rising costs for getting away from the city we feel this is a perfect retreat for many guests from all over the world.
What makes this property unique
You can drive right by this little paradise in the woods without even knowing its nestled beyond line of sight. Incredibly private and my 'nice doggies welcome' policy make for a nice little get away. Minutes from local wineries, breweries & distilleries. Watkins Glen State Park is the biggest draw to this area and is located 35 minutes away. We are also a few miles away from Keuka Lake, Penn Yan and Hammondsport.
