Oceanfront home w rooftop deck, private boardwalk

Welcome to "Good Times"! This oceanfront cottage is perfect for a family group of eight or less. "Good Times" is a four bedroom, two bath vintage fishermen’s cottage with modern updates in Kure Beach. If you are a fan of rustic, knotty-pine wood and one-floor living, you will love this house!

Enter through the kitchen and dining area and head towards the oceanfront living area that is bright and spacious, and leads outside to the rooftop deck. There is an enclosed outdoor hot/cold shower and private beach access. The four bedrooms are off of the hallway between the kitchen and into the living room. Along the way you will find a bedroom with two Twin beds, two bedrooms with Queen beds and the full hallway bath. The primary bedroom has a King bed with an en suite full bath.

In addition to being oceanfront, "Good Times " is only a few blocks from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier and a short drive to the Ft. Fisher Historic Museum, the Civil War battleground and the NC Aquarium. While in the area, be sure to check out the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, where you will find shops, restaurants and the summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music. Watch the fishermen come in with the catch of the day at the marina or dine out with the family. Make plans today to stay in beautiful Kure Beach!

Parking: Parking area is 35' x 20' and will accommodate four cars or two large trucks/SUV's. Parking on the lawn is not allowed and will result in a $250 fine.

Cancellation Policy: Full refund within 24 hours of booking, cancellations at 31+ days before check-in will receive a full refund after a $350 cancellation fee is deducted, cancellations at 15-30 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund of monies paid less a $350 cancellation fee and less than 15 days prior to arrival is not subject to a refund.  All policies are subject to possible additional refund based on re-rental, excluding non-refundable cancellation fees and travel insurance (if applicable).

The house was all we were hoping for! Much larger inside than we thought. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were clean and roomy, the bed was comfy, and the living room was cozy. Loved spending time on the beach! The view from the upper deck was fantastic, but we didn't spend any time up there (we went to the beach instead). Our only complaint was the neighbor to the south... they were up late and very loud! We could hear their entire conversations even with our windows closed. That's not a reflection on this rental, just a reflection on them. We'd definitely stay here again!

Well maintained older house. Exceptionally clean, kitchen has all the necessities, plenty of room for our party of 6 adults, good beach access. Somewhat dated but very comfortable and clean. I would stay there again.

Thanksgiving Family Getaway

Very comfortable and well-appointed home for our family's Thanksgiving Holiday getaway. Beach access is easy from this oceanfront home. The location is great with fishing pier, restaurants, Fort Fisher Historic Site, Aquarium and shopping all within a short drive.

Perfect girls’ getaway

4 friends in their 40s had a great time. That rooftop deck is the perfect place to relax, catch up, and eat. Very short walk to the beach. Great location.

The location was great! Great eating spaces. Beach was not heavily populated even on a Saturday. Great place to hang with family. Only negatives was the musty smell and the darkness from the dark paneling.

Good times indeed!!!

What a great vacation thanks to VRBO. Property description was spot on and the house was really nicely appointed. Loved the rooftop deck! Kitchen was small but well equipped for our needs. I liked the ease of the keyless entry. VRBO is easy to use and Bryant was very responsive to our questions. If our vacation party remains at the same number, I'd use this cottage again. If we need a bigger place, we will return to VRBO. My daughter and I have used them for a few years now and it couldn't be easier.

Hi Jonathan- thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about the roaches! The good news is that they were dead or dying, which means that, in essence, the pest control was mostly effective. However, we can certainly understand why that would be a huge turn-off. No one enjoys bugs where they aren't supposed to be. This is a wonderful home, though, which does undergo routine pest control. Great house & location!

Overall, we really loved this house! The location to the beach was awesome, and the rooftop deck was a favorite. Unfortunately there was construction on the huge house next door, and we woke up to hammering every morning. Obviously this won’t always be the case, and this house is such a gem & a little hideout. The size was perfect for us. We had some hiccups checking in as the property was still being cleaned and we weren’t able to get in until almost two hours past check in time. It was remedied with an extended check out time. We missed having a grill to cook, and the kitchen was a bit small but we made it work. We would definitely consider this house again :)

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great. Owners were easy to work with. Check in/out was simple. Check out time was fairly early considering check in time is 3pm. The home could be updated a bit. Home was dirty. Found lots of dead roaches throughout the home. Also found a condom wrapper in one bedroom and used condom in another.

The amenities were just slightly lacking compared to other house that we have stayed in the area for the last 6 years, this includes inside and outside amenities. We purchased and left about 6 beach chairs for the next people that stay. The location was great as it was in the middle between Kure Beach and CB, also the beach was not super crowded for being closer to the high rises. I do have to say though that the mattresses were all pretty much uncomfortable as we had people in all the beds. If the mattresss were updated that we would stay again next year. Let me know if you update them.

Thank you for your review. We shared your suggestions with the owner and they plan on assessing the beds this fall and are definitely replacing the bed in the master bedroom. They also stated that they appreciate the beach chairs, they use to leave them for the guest but the would go missing or rust out so fast that guest were complaining about the condition of them so they decided to let the guest bring their own. On the beach

Our family stayed here Memorial Day weekend. The house is much bigger than it looks. Plenty of beds for our big crowd. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The living room had plenty of comfy seating for hanging out It is a one mile walk to the pier, by sand or by road. There is a roof top deck but we didn’t really utilize it. It is really hot during the day and very open so no privacy from the neighbors. There is no beach view from inside the house, which is a bit disappointing. But it is right in the beach. The walkway was recently redone and looks great. There is an outdoor shower which is great after a long sandy day at the beach. We did have an issue with bugs. When we arrived there were several dead water bugs in some of the rooms. During our stay we encountered several more which was a bit unsettling. The house was big enough to house our big family and being on the beachfront was a huge plus. The only downside was no beach views from inside and the bugs. Otherwise very satisfied.

Good times was great times.

This house was the perfect size for our group... Two adult couples, one adult by herself, and a 3 year old. We ended up not even using the kids room, but it was a good place to stash a lot of our luggage. Highlights: - The house was super clean. - The house is perfectly located... easy walk to the pier (to the south) or Carolina Beach shops/restaurants (to the north). - The communities across the street are really nice to walk/run through... for a longer walk/run, it’s really easy to get to the Carolina Beach Greenway. - The bedrooms get really dark which was awesome on days we wanted to sleep in. - Lots of space to eat for big family meals. - The rooftop balcony was awesome (except for the caveat below) - Really easy to get on and off the beach. We never really even bothered to take a cooler to the beach because it was so easy to run back to the house and grab another drink. Couple of downsides, which probably couldn’t have been avoided... - We noticed ants in the kitchen and the main bathroom as soon as we walked in. However, the rental office had an exterminator out to spray for them in less than 24 hours after we called. -We all got really bit up by various bugs on our first night up on the rooftop balcony. We bought a few citronella candles after that and it seemed to help some. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Home Away from Home

It was very spacious and the kitchen was just big enough to cook all of our meals and to store all of our essential food items. We were VERY IMPRESSED that it came with a good blender!The bedrooms were great and had plenty of storage. The living room was nice and bright, with lots of space. We liked the outdoor shower and porch, as this helped us hose down all of the sand and the kids before entering the house.The view from the top deck was great and we were able to see the Carolina Beach fireworks from our little boardwalk. Being on the beach was wonderful, especially with three young kids and lots of gear.The neighborhood was quiet and clean. The one service call I did make got addressed immediately and I was very happy with the service.The only suggestion would be to replace the mattress in the master bedroom with a harder one. We woke up with sore backs and after two days we switched the mattress in the master bedroom with the one in the adjoining bedroom and what a difference! No more sore backs and a great night's sleep! We would definitely recommend this to people with young kids and look forward to visiting again in the future.
