The Farmhouse was beautiful and so clean! We all fell in love with the whole house, particularly the kitchen. There were 10 of us, and everyone had their own bedrooms with plenty of bathrooms. We loved all the gathering spaces, and had so much fun playing ping pong! Alex was a wonderful host who communicated clearly and concisely. It was a perfect place to stay - the only bad part was that we had to leave! Highly recommend the Farmhouse to you!

This beautiful place was exactly as pictured and once you stepped inside, the warmly decorated home was spotless. The kitchen was designed to hold all 8 of us very easily as we cooked, ate and sat around the large inviting table catching up with friends. The large great room was cozy. The individual bedrooms and bathrooms were all very clean and comfy. Also, you won’t have to look far for anything you might need in the kitchen. Everything is labeled and easily accessible. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this house…you could not have needed anything else, all was provided. From booking the house with ease, checking in a breeze and being walkable to downtown, it was just the best!! I would fully recommend renting this very beautiful and spacious home, you will not be disappointed!

Alex was an excellent communicator before and during our stay. We stayed 3 nights with 10 adults, and it was a perfect home for our gathering. We especially enjoyed the generous space, comfortable beds, two outdoor seating areas (including the outdoor fireplace), the well-equipped kitchen, and the overall comfortable feel of the whole house. It was just as was described and pictured in the listing. I would highly recommend staying here if you’d like to visit Saugatuck!

Our multi-generational family had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. There was plenty of space so we could spread out and still come together in the living/ dining area. We also loved sitting out on the side screened in porch. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the helpful labels on the cupboards and drawers. It’s a short 3 block walk into town which we did every day. There was adequate parking for us, as well. The owner was very communicative and helpful. We highly recommend this property!

Weekend Trip

This is a great location! - very walkable to local shops and restaurants, also a nice mix of outdoor activities. The house itself has several great sitting/hang-out areas and is well equipt. It was very appreciated that the grill had a full propane tank upon our arrival - that has not always been the case at other rentals. Emails were sent prior to the trip with local recommendations, Alex was very quick to respond to any communication. Thank you for a great weekend!

Saugatuck is a special place, and Alex's huge farmhouse is in an ideal location for a quiet but connected family vacation. The home is just the right size for a 12-person gathering, nicely equipped, and comfortable. I can see our group staying here again!

Property was great, stocked with everything we needed! Very clean and just as described. 13 adults and there was plenty of room. Location was great and walking distance to downtown. House was beautiful and very large. The bedrooms were able to accommodate our entire group. The kitchen is gourmet and spacious. It was also nice to be able to walk to the restaurants and shops downtown. I would definitely book there again.

Perfect house with lots of room

The house is spacious with lots of spots to enjoy with friends and family. Alex was wonderful to work with and very responsive to any questions we had. The house is a quick walk to downtown and everyone enjoyed their time.

Work Retreat

We enjoyed this property for our work retreat. It was a cozy house with plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our group and a great cozy living room and kitchen area for all of our discussions and planning. We loved the restaurants in town and had beautiful weather for March. The host was great at keeping in touch and making sure we had no questions. Everything was just as expected and we had no complaints! Thanks!!

Nana's 60th Birthday

We have a wonderful weekend with my wife (Nana) our 4 adult children, spouses and 6 grand children. The house was wonderful with a great big kitchen and living area for the little ones to enjoy. It was an easy walk to downtown Saugatuck. Alex was terrific with the details and check in and out was easy. Highly recommend it for big groups. We hope to come back with friends.

Wintery NYE Friends Getaway

A very lovely and spacious house. Everything as advertised. Rooms and beds were clean, WiFi worked great, cable TV a major plus for our group for the NYE college football games, and a great basement and stocked kids play area in the basement. It was perfect for our group of 35 year old adults with kids ranging from 0-7. Other notables: The kitchen knives were sharp which is so rare these days. It’s hard to say how much we appreciated this. The dishwasher, as advertised, work like a champ which let us spend more time having fun than doing dishes. Everything in the house is subtly labeled so finding everything in the bathrooms and kitchen was very easy. Owner and property manager were great. All communication was rapid fast and the one issue where we ran out of trash bags on our 2nd to last day was resolved in under an hour with a simple text message. A lovely home for a winter escape and I’m sure a perfect destination for a Lake Michigan summer vacation.

Best house ever

I had people from 3 different households and an age range of 7-64. This house was perfect! Plenty of space. Kitchen had great supplies. Comfortable walk to downtown. Best part was the “secret” room above the garage that gave the grumpy bachelor a place to hide from the kids It was a lovely en-suite. Great house!

We are a family of five, with three kids. We live in in Chicago, and we have been coming to Saugatuck/Douglas multiple times a year for well over a decade. SAUGATUCK MODERN FARMHOUSE was purchased as our second home, and we still use it as such. We enjoyed the area and the hosting experience and recently decided to buy an additional home, DOUGLAS MODERN VILLA. Our parents like to come along and also we like to spend time with other families - these houses are a great way to spend time with multi-generational families, groups of friends, or a couples getaway. We really enjoy what Saugatuck can offer year-around. In the summer, our favorites activities are Oval Beach, walking around downtown, getting coffee at Uncommon Grounds, ice cream at Kilwin’s, and food from Phil’s, Wicks Park, and Everyday People Cafe. In the winter we tend to stay in more, cook big family meals, still enjoy the downtown areas and the many businesses that stay open year around for the locals.
On his free time, Alex is an ambitious home cook, and as a result, the kitchens are equipped with everything you would need to put together a great meal. From grilling, sous vide, cast iron and dutch ovens, baking pans, food processors, blenders your needs should be covered. Also there is sufficient dishware, silverware and serving dishes to put a meal together for the full capacity of the house with room to spare.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

One of the main questions we had was if we wanted to be in town or on the beach. When we came to Saugatuck, we found that we would go to the beach 3-5 times a week, depending on weather, but we would come into town multiple times a day, so the decision was easy. The property is in a great location - quiet neighborhood yet a short walk to town. Also we wanted a place that could fit 2-3 families with multiple kids each, plus one or two sets of parents, or a nanny.
