Our location is a ten minute drive to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas. We are walking distance to shopping in Irasville and Waitsfield. Waitsfield and Warren Village offer both fine and casual dining, shopping, antique shops, galleries, bookstores, and even a movie theater with it's own restaurant, open 7 days a week for 3 meals a day. There are local valley distilleries and beer makers, (Mad River Distillery, Lawsons, the Alchemist of Heady Topper fame to name a few) There are covered bridges, beautiful drives, and seasonal events all year long. In the summer, there are Marathon Runs, bicycle races, Art Festivals, and a Farmers Market every Saturday, again, all within walking distance from our place. Our property borders the state forest, there are many hiking and mountain biking trails out our back door. We are 1 mile from American Flatbread, which hosts weddings and is known for it's flatbread pizza, and also home of the Vermont Music Festival. The Chamber of Commerce website has the events calendar.

About the owner: I am the daughter of Marilyn B. Hilly, who was an Olympic level ski racer, and tried out for the 1960 Olympics, in Squaw Valley, CA. and I have both studied and taught skiing, horseback riding and art. I currently coach a college equestrian team.
Why the Owner Chose Waitsfield, VT, USA:
This property was purchased by a group of skiing friends back in the 50's, over the years our family has enjoyed it as a year round vacation home. We especially enjoy skiing, and now that the family has moved on to different parts of the country, we offer it as a vacation home to others who may want something other than a condo experience.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
Rustic charm, historical 1893 barn, on the edge of the state forest, close to town and all of the ski areas. A place to recharge and relax in between playing hard in the playground that is our Mad River Valley.
