Quad-k Suite, A Cozy and private guest suite in Portland Estate.

Escape to your own cozy haven in our private basement suite, located in the heart of Portland Estate. The suite is part of our family home, with the host family living in the main house upstairs.

Please note that the basement suite does not have windows. To help keep the space fresh, dry, and comfortable, a dehumidifier is provided, and the suite has been thoughtfully arranged to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Because this is a family home, guests may occasionally hear normal household sounds or footsteps from upstairs, including sounds from young children. We do our best to keep noise to a minimum, especially during evening and nighttime hours.

The suite is also equipped with fast Wi-Fi, making it a convenient space for working, streaming, or simply relaxing.

You’ll be conveniently located close to everything. Enjoy a walk around beautiful Russell Lake Park and Trail, stop by nearby cafes and restaurants, visit the local library, or take advantage of the shopping and amenities in the area. The bus stop is also just a short 2-minute walk away.

At Quad-K, our goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming space where guests can feel at home during their stay. We look forward to hosting you!

This rental was the most economical that we found. Good value, the amenities were fine, no complaints. There is some noise from the family upstairs, not excessive and not too late/early. The Russel Lake area is very convenient to groceries,restaurants, shopping, easy access to hiways. Host was very attentive to our needs.

This is a cell-no windows- basically in the garage. Do not recommend.

The listing clearly states that this is a basement suite, that there are no windows, and that access is through the garage. These details are provided before booking so guests can make an informed decision. The guest chose to leave during the stay without advising me of any issue with the accommodation or giving me an opportunity to address a concern, and did not return for the remaining portion of the reservation. I believe it is important that future guests understand that the features mentioned in this review were accurately disclosed in the listing prior to booking.

Fair pricing for a good location — close to the vicinity and not too far from downtown Halifax. A few noise issues from the unit upstairs at times. The room felt a bit stuffy since there were no windows, and the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, which made the room quite hot, especially in July. There was a portable AC provided, but it was blowing warm air instead of cooling the room — a regular fan would have been a welcome addition during the heat. On check-in, we also found the toilet hadn't been cleaned. Overall, a decent stay, but a few issues kept it from being a great one.Parking was decent.

We're sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. As noted in our listing, this is a basement suite with no windows, and we encourage guests to read the full description before booking to ensure the space is a good fit for their needs. We also mention that, as this is part of a family home, some everyday noise from the upstairs living area may occasionally be heard. Regarding the portable air conditioner, we later discovered that it had been inadvertently disconnected by a previous guest, preventing it from cooling properly. Once identified, the issue was corrected. We also take cleanliness very seriously and thoroughly inspect the suite before every check-in. We were surprised by the comment regarding the toilet, as no concern was raised during your stay despite our communication, and we would have addressed it immediately had we been made aware. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the guest experience. Thank you again, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

incredibly kind accomodating host, very nice spot for 2 people everything you could need at a fair price. The host was incredibly sweet. A great area near anything you could need, easy stress free parking, a beautiful room with a nice kitchenette, would definitely reccomend staying here, and if im ever in the area again i wouldn't hesitate to book the same place.

Perfect for short stay

This was an ideal place for us to stay - short trip to visit family in the area. We like the convenience of a kutchen to make tea, coffee and quick snacks. Location was ideal and the host was lovely - so friendly. Suite had everything we needed, plus extra touches such as toiletries and tea and coffee were provided.

Host was very nice and checked in on us. The location is reasonable if you want to explore Halifax. You can take a 30 minute bus ride with a bit of walking or take a ferry if you have a car. There’s a shopping plaza nearby with typical stores, so also a good bonus!
